We have our two boys at Foothill CDC. Our older son started at 5 months old - almost 3 years ago! Both our boys love their teachers and are truly in a loving and enriching environment. The director Pauline and asst director Ellie are both fantastic. Both our kids attend full time and our older son attended full time all through COVID. They take cleanliness, sanitization, and CA regulations seriously and I have always felt my children were safe and well taken care of. I also love the creativity, arts and crafts and curriculum for each age. I feel like my kids are socially developed very well. The teachers and center as a whole have become a big part of our life, Several of the staff members have been around for 3+ years and watched over both our boys, and that goes to show what a great positive environment has been created here. Because of this daycare my kids have been potty trained, transitioned milks, helped nap schedules, taught counting and ABCs and so much more. They also provide all food, and even baby formula. They even do before and after school drop off! Although daycare is expensive, it was one of the more affordable ones we looked at. This review was LONG over due. My youngest daughter became ill and was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 11 months old. WhenI informed the daycare of her diagnosis, I was informed that no one there was willing to be trained to assist in caring for her. They basiy kicked her out because of her medical condition and was discriminated against because of it. Several months later after I did some f Research and talked to other parents woth children that had the same diagnosis from parent support groups did I learn that what they did was illegal, especially since she was previously enrolled prior to her becoming ill. I thought this place cared about children and helping families but learned that its more about money and keeping a larger income vs providing care. Once we became a need more that baisc care caring, we were booted out because they didn't want to train or provide proper staff to carr for my child. My daughter Clarissa was also hit in the mouth by another child who filled up a bag with blocks and then ran around the room swinging it around his head. Ms. Mariel called to inform me that she was hit in the mouth and played it off like it was a small bump, as if she was running and bumped heads woth another kid. When I went to pick her up her mouth was split open, cut up on the inside of her lip, swollen, and bruised with trapped surface blood on her gums above her 2 front teeth. I took her to the dentist, who said her tooth was damaged, will change color due to nerve damage, and can become infected needing an extraction. I provided documentation and copies of her x-rays to the facility. We were told the child/family was being dealt with and was hardly there. My daighter refused to go anytime that child was there. We stopped going because of that chikd and the incident above. Look into other options where the growth and development of children are more important than money amd offering parents to save a few bucks. This review is so long overdue we love "Foothill"! When I tell you from the first day we came on our tour I was in love with the director Ms. Paulina. If your a parent like me and appreciate that old school vibe were children are to RESPECT every adult at all times this is the school for your family. We started here almost two years ago my youngest daughter was 6 months old. It was truly easy for me because all the women in the infant room were amazing. Ms. Moniz, Ms. Lilia , Ms.Jill, Ms. Christine,and Miss Jessica all hold a very special place in my heart for caring for my daughter as if she was their child. That speaks volume when you know you child is truly loved by complete strangers from day one. We also had a 4yr. Old in the pre school classrooms with Ms. Pam and Ms. Lori my daughter adores her teachers she thinks the world of them and so do I. She's now in kindergarten and is overly prepared for kindergarten thanks to these wonderful ladies. Everyone is genuinely warm and friendly with that being said Ms. Ellie takes the cake she has always greeted me with a smile and a warm heart. The facility is clean always they do an amazing job at the cleanliness and keeping the gems away as best as possible. My daughter loves the meals that were prepared for them she would come home and tell me that I need to learn how to make some of the recipes lol. Lastly I'd like to thank each and everyone at the school for giving a 100% everyday for caring for my children. Even in the midst of the coronavirus they made sure that they stayed open and followed all of the government guidelines for keeping the children in the safe. My daughter started going to FCDC in January and I have always had the best experience. This place makes you feel like you are family and that's one of the main things I wanted in a daycare. The staff is always smiling and welcoming and you feel like you've known them forever. This preschool/daycare facility is the best! I went here when I was a child, though it was under a different name, Kids Garden. I was surprised when I moved back to the area, that it was still around and that they had some of the same staff! My two kids have been attending this daycare for years now. My son started at two years old (in preschool classes), and my daughter at seven (in their before and after school daycare program). Every single staff member has been great to my children and I. Here are some reason why I think they are great and would recommend others to send their child(ren) here: 1. The front staff, Ellie, Pauline and Lorie know EVERY single parents name and their child(ren). Everyone is greeted, by name, as they walk in the door (adults and children). Often times, a more personalized conversation is held. 2. The before and after school program is exceptional! I was worried about having to send my kids to different places because there are many facilities that do not have a both preschool and before and after school program. This one does! I can drop my kids off and pick them up at the same spot, which makes my crazy life a bit easier. For the school aged kids, (who attend school in the area) they offer drop off and pick up to and from school. Yet another plus! 3. The preschool really prepares kids for the next step, grade school. My son who started when he was two, is now 5 and is enrolled in Kindergarten. He tells me the thing he likes best about his school now vs the preschool, is that they do less work in Kindergarten and everything is easy! Mrs. Pam and Mrs. Lorie in the 4yr old class do an exceptional job at preparing these kids for grade school. My child went into Kindergarten able to spell and write out his name, counting, all letters of the alphabet (upper and lower case) and more! 4. Safety, they have a locked door at all times and make sure that only those listed on the emergency contact information are able to pick up your child. In the event of an emergency and someone else needs to pick up your child (as has happened to me before) they are very professional and request permission in writing and make sure that the person has photo ID on them before releasing your child. 5. The facility is nice, clean and perfect for all the ages they care for. Inside the building is colorful, large windows into every class with children's beautifully displayed artwork. Outdoors they have multiple playgrounds suited for both younger kids and the older ones in grade school. I plan to keep my kids attending this daycare for as long as possible. They are great. As a mom, I've been looking into daycares and since I live in this area I have been able to speak to parents at my kiddos schools and have heard nothing but horror stories about this place. Their staff is not trained properly. Children of employees are able to get away with bullying. Staff members do not properly watch the children and they go home with unreported injuries. Staff being demeaning to parents. It's absolutely ridiculous. Another person wrote a review that's absolutely shameful bashing a mother for complaining when the state pays for her childcare. How dare you?! A child is a child and that does not matter. Those children should be taken care of and protected regarded of payment. Insane! My 7 year old child reported that an employees 12 year old child had been physically assaulting him at daycare and no one was helping him. These was diff occasions that were reported. Employee directly told me she would not be taking any actions on her sons behavior because she wasn't told the minute it happened. I wasn't aware the employee was the child's parent. Conversation ended there. My son also reported him and another child were left to wait to eat lunch until after field trip around 1:30 after watching all the other children eat. My son reported he asked if he could call me and they told him I was "too busy and wouldn't answer". State found insufficient evidence but I will stand by my child's voice. Research facilities don't just hire them based of desperation. I was able to find my son a safe and caring facility to care for him that wouldn't discriminate against his ADHD diagnosis. This place use to be an excellent private preschool. My 2 year old grandchild was learning shapes,colors, numbers and alphabets. Getting massive homework and making progress. It is of my pure opinion that there are many unsupervised kids running around while the babysitters are not watching them fight and bite each other. My grandchild has been bitten and scratched on his face at least 3 times. Claimed that a teacher slapped him on the face on one occasion. He also had wood chip bites all over his body. My 2 boys have been attending Foothill Child Development Center for 2 years now and they both love it. My youngest tells me his best friend is Ms. Maribel, who was one of his teachers in the 2 year old class and cannot stop talking about Ms. Brianna who he has this year. I can not recommended this place enough. My son went here and would still be going if I didn't not move for my job. They go above and beyond. My son was always excited to go. When distance learning started and as hard as it was on is parent they did their best to put the children first. I felt comfortable knowing that they helped my child to log in and I was always able to call if I needed. Every single person here is amazing. But I do have to give a big shout out to Ms. Laurie. After leaving one amazing school due to a job change we were disappointed with a chain child care facility( to say the least). Thankfully FCDC had availability for our 2 and 4 yr old kids and were our saving grace. The staff are always cheerful and welcoming the teachers care about your kids and give feedback of how their day went. However, after finding the Foothill Child Development Center I am extremely, extremely pleased with care and concern that is being given to my Granddaughter. Ms Pauline Copas the Director has a genuine love for what she does and so does her assistant Miss Ellie Devita. I am comfortable discussing any issue that may arise with my grandchild's care with either of them. The program fits grandchild's needs well. I been bringing my Daughter here for about 1 year now, and I honestly couldn't be happier. This is probably the happiest my daughter has ever been Out of any school/child care center she has gone to. The center is amazing with children and you can tell the kids love the teachers.. it's not your typical "baby sitters" as most day cares can tend to do, these girls are very hands on and actually take the initiative to teach the children. Ms. Pauline & Ms. Ellie are the "go to" in the center, the ARE both amazing individuals and are even greater with my Daughter. If you are considering or in need of a child center please go check them out, you won't be disappointed. Yes it's a bit strange that it's literally behind shakey's, however I feel it's in a perfect spot, away from the busy street and its secluded. Horrible experiences here. I met several parents who left because of how teachers where with kids. Once your child turns 1 year old they dont allow bottles and they didnt think to tell me until the day before. They let my child starve because they dont allow bottles after 1 year old they told me its "corporate rules" B.S I called the licensing department and put a complaint they confirmed that rule along with other ones are implemented by that schools choice. My child was starving when I would pick him up & in tears. Several times they forgot to give him his bottle when he was allowed to have it. And come to find out with talking to other parents it had happened to other babies as well. The staff does their own "cleaning" which is not clean at all, they should hire an outside cleaning service to clean when everyone is gone. One time my son got a stomach bug from school & we all got it at home, I called the school to notify them & asked if anyone else got it they said no, come to find out from another teacher AND other parents I was lied to! So many babies and other parents had it! They confirmed their child got it at this school. Why lie about it instead of informing everyone to be cautious. Several teachers constantly left in the infant room (shows a lot how the place is ran) bad communication & drama between the staff. my child was always dirty when picking him up, no effort in at least cleaning the kids up. There was always a teacher yelling at the kids not just in the infant classroom but even the older kids. Do not place your kids here. I had SEVERAL meetings with the directory & it was always "sorry I will adress it" when it was major things! How do you skip baby feedings! I feel horrible for even allowing my child to be in this center for a few months. I always was understanding, helpful with the teachers I even donated several items to the classroom and showed the teachers I appreciated them I was wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt every time there was an issue & see things in different perspectives but enough was enough. They are not sympathetic at all to our kids there. They constantly URGE you to give them a yelp review when you sign up (hence my 1st review) but within time I learned. I'd like to say a few things about Kids Garden... My son started attending January of this year in the two year old classroom. It had just been taken over by the new owner, and I'm not going to lie...it was tough for the first few months while they were going through a transition. There were necessary staff changes to better the establishment, and also for the younger kids, a new curriculum was established to better ensure that your child would actually be learning and not just playing all day. My son has learned so much, such as his alphabet, counting to 30 and he is even talking a lot clearer. He loves his teachers and has made so many new friends. The staff even potty trained him while in the two year old class! They give me a daily report letting me know how long he napped, what they did for the day and what he ate for lunch. If there was an incident that day (which there rarely is), someone will inform me right away. He has now transitioned to the three year old classroom and is doing very well. My son is an EXTREMELY picky eater...more than most picky eaters, and they have worked with me on every and all request I've made regarding his nutrition. I don't know what it was like before the new ownership, but I have seen major changes from the time I started taking my son to now. It is very clean and always decorated so cute. I am always greeted by the staff every single time I either drop off or pick up my son. The teachers are very friendly and caring, and I have no problem carrying on a conversation with any of them. I know it is very discouraging to read bad reviews on Yelp...but I can vouch that this center has made a complete turn around and I would recommend it to anyone who needs their child to be in a loving, learning environment while they are at work. read more

This has to be the worst daycare center ever! Last week I showed up early to pick up my 1 year old grand baby and he was crying and not being comforted. Before I left, I had been given a plastic bag with an item inside. When we got home, I opened the plastic bag I had been given and inside was a dirty disposable diaper! Everyone here has been extremely phenomenal my two children have been underneath their care since my daughter was a baby she started in the infants class wearing diapers and is now 5 years old I loved everything about this place it was structured and ran well always clean! I was looking to find affordable care for my grandson, while I worked and my daughter attended school. When I brought him in the first day, I was worried as he was so tiny and cried when I left. My grandson is my world, so having just anybody care for him, was never going to happen, but Ms. Moniz and Jocelyn are wonderful. They engage my grandson in projects and he always has things to bring home. They are so loving and caring with him.The staff is knowledgeable and Pauline and Elllie treat us like family. My grandson no longer attends regularly, however, I bring him as a drop in on occasion, and they greet him by his first name and are very welcoming. As a mother and grandmother, I know exactly how hard it is to trust anyone with your baby, but this place made it easy for me to trust them. read more

My 4 yr old son has been coming here for almost 2 years and he loves it. Ms Ellie and the director Ms Pauline are very sweet and helpful and kind. They know all the kids by name as well as the parents. My son is in Ms Pam and Ms Lori's class and he absolutely adores them. I'm extremely happy with the way this child care center has treated us as family. From the moment we stepped in to enroll we were greeted with smiling faces. My daughter is in first grade, she gets picked up by the daycare van and taken to the childcare center Monday through Friday. As a working mom it gives me great peace of mind knowing someone will be there for my her when she's out of school and get her to the daycare center safely. There are also time logs that track what time the student entered the facility and by who they were driven. The center itself is always clean and kept, this includes not just classroom but restrooms and playgrounds. Teachers here don't just watch your child, they help with homework as well. Each day is different for them, my daughter has came home with paintings and crafts, she's told me about how she was rewarded for good behaviors. Honestly if I could give you guys more stars I would. LOVE LOVE LOVE Foothill Child Development Center! I enrolled my daughter this June (2017) when she was 20 months & it was really rough for both of us because it had always been just the two of us but as soon as I walked in the door I could tell this was the place for us! The staff is so friendly, the facility is always kept so clean and organized, and they treat everyone like family, but what really sold me on this childcare center was that you have your own password to get in and they have cameras throughout the building and that is so comforting knowing that no random person is going to be around those children. On her first day of daycare in the brand new Infant/toddler room she cried, which I expected, but the teachers Ms. Moniz and Ms. Joseline made it a little bit easier by comforting her after I left, & they did so every day until she had adjusted. & I love that she wasn't just playing all day but learning her shapes, colors and numbers, & having story time. My daughter is also a VERY picky eater and she has many allergies and they've ALWAYS gone above and beyond making sure she's actually getting food she'll eat! Shes now transitioned into the 2 year old room & it's a struggle dropping her off in the mornings, because she hasn't fully adjusted yet (its only been a week) but the teachers in her new classroom do a wonderful job of comforting her. & I'm one of those mothers that'll peak through the window and I see that they actually comfort her until she stops crying and I LOVE that! Ms. Pauline the director is amazing and she is always willing to work with my ever changing schedule & Ms. Ellie the Office Administrator is THE BEST! She's always so kind & she genuinely cares when she asks about your day, she has given me so many words of encouragement. Words cannot express how truly grateful I am to have found this place and that they had an opening for my daughter, & how amazing the staff is. I LOVE that the staff knows everyone by name & I'm greeted every day when I drop her off and pick her up & it just feels like a big happy family here and I'm all for it! I recently am considering this childcare facility. I looked things up online yelp and google and noticed it didn't have the best reviews. However, I also noticed that they were from two years ago. I called and decided to go and visit. I got a tour and the paperwork discussed pricing (which they were very kind with working with me to meet an reasonable amount for me and them) and then I left. I left and still had my doubts. I went home and talked to my husband and then talked to my sister who told me if I still had doubts then I should confront them about these reviews. So I did! I went and spoke with Mrs. Pauline, who is the new director since all those 2015 reviews. She was very open with me and explained everything. She also informed me that they now have cameras so she can keep an eye on all the classes and teachers and had an open door policy on any parent walking in to talk to her or view his/her child's class at anytime. This all helped ease my suspicions. As I left I spoke to a parent who's child has been there for over and year and they both love it! Its still in my list of choices even though I am still visiting and talking to other daycares. Please don't discourage this place, they were all very nice and welcoming to me and my son (who is 2). read more
