We enrolled our son at Olive Tree Day School for a year, 4 hours a day, 4 days a week, mainly for social development. This was his very first time being away from us since birth, so of course he cried a lot in the beginning. At his previous "first" school, they actually kicked him out on day 4, saying his crying was disruptive to the other kids. As parents, that was so discouraging and disheartening. Ms. Kelly and her staff at OTDS were the complete opposite. They never made us feel like his struggles were a burden. They knew crying in the first few days was totally normal and worked with us as a team to help him adjust. He did cry for the first few weeks, but the staff showed so much love, patience, and compassion. Ms. Kelly is also very communicative and the school has an app where parents can see pictures and videos from class. It's the sweetest thing to get updates of the kids doing art, story time, music, or just playing together. The rest of the year turned out amazing. OTDS is such a fun and nurturing environment. They do holiday celebrations, invite parents to events, have music time, outdoor play, sensory and pretend play, water play in the summer, and even a little garden. All of the teachers are wonderful with the kids, and you can tell Ms. Kelly is really careful about who she hires. Because of the growth and confidence our son gained at OTDS, he started public school this year and had a great first week. Olive Tree is a hidden gem!! As a mental health professional with extensive background in education and psychology, it was important for me to find a school that would meet my (somewhat picky) expectations. Without out a doubt Olive tree has done this. I searched and toured many pre-schools last year before touring Olive Tree, from the start Miss Kelly made my daughter feel invited and welcomed to explore her environment. My daughter was in the pre-K class and is completely ready for Kindergarten next month. Social Emotional Learning is not just about what is being taught to our children but also how it is being taught. Olive Tree incorporates music, art, group team building, and outdoor activities such as gardening. Miss Kelly really runs an amazing program here and my family was beyond blessed to have found it. Compared to other schools in the area that are equally priced, the amount of field trips and family activities they had was also a big plus that we enjoyed this past year. Miss Kelly organized two amazing field trips, one to a local farm and the other to Cable Airport, both were fantastic and very educational. My daughter still talks about milking her first cow. Lastly, Olive Tree helped lay the groundwork for my daughter to continue to learn about Christ and what being a Christian is really about. I am grateful we found this school for our son. The entire staff is caring, thoughtful, and dedicated to these children. We started at olive tree in the fall of 2023 and our only wish is that we would have found it sooner. Our children are age 3 and 1. We had our 22 month and our 4 month old attened Miss Kelly's Olive Tree Day School and all of us loved her and her program. My son is super dependent on me and has bad separation anxiety; after ten minuets there he wanted to stay and play. He stayed the whole day and didn't have a melt down. Ms Kelly and Ms Mayra are both incredible teachers. Their passion, patience, and love for what they do shines through them. I cannot express how grateful my family is for finding Olive Tree Day School. We had a family member whose two children attended OTDS school when Ms Kelly was based out of her home and they had nothing but amazing things to say. Seeing how much her school has grown shows the value and passion she has for her students. We enrolled my son in 2023 at 2 1/2 years old and it has absolutely been the best thing for him. His vocabulary increases at what seems to be weekly so we know the curriculum is perfect for his age. The entire staff is wonderful and they without a doubt adore each and every child. Both of my children attended OTDS for two years each, and I have always been so grateful for making that decision. My kids are now 5 and 7 years old and their academic and social skills are incredible. The foundation created by Miss Kelly and her curriculum has allowed my children to progress ahead of schedule. My son reads nearly two levels ahead of his grade, and my daughter is already reading at 5 years old and is so social and confident in her new TK class. Their teachers' reports always emphasize how attentive, polite, and helpful they are in the classroom, as well as how well they meet their academic goals. OTDS provides a holistic approach to education that includes not only a superior academic curriculum, but also a focus on social skills, manners, compassion, and team work. Miss Kelly worked with each of my kids individually, identifying my daughter's speech issues so that I could obtain an IEP for her, as well as my son's sensory sensitivities that allowed me to understand ways to accommodate his needs. My children love school and look forward to going every single day, no doubt due to the sense of feeling secure, seen, and loved at OTDS. Mrs Kelly has been a blessing to my family and I. I was so scared and didn't know where to have my youngest go to school. We moved to a new area. Didn't know anyone. Tried calling around went on a few tours but nothing felt right. During the Christmas break there was a little bag on our front door with a few crayons and stickers with a little note on it letting us know that there was a day school that opened up just down the street from us. I was skeptical. Put it away and kind of forgot about it. Two months later I thought about it and called to set up a tour. I brought Jaxx my youngest with me and I told myself he'll be the deciding factor. We went and he didn't want to leave lol I was surprised and comforted all at the same time. I decided to look for a smaller preschool for my two year old to mainly get some social experiences with other children because I'm a stay at home Mom. Ms. Kelly and her assistant, Ms. Amanda are wonderful! The class sizes are small and my 2 year old only goes once a week and is already completely comfortable around the teachers. He's been going for a few months now and looks forward to his time there. The place is in the back of her home and always super clean and kid-friendly.
