I had a very disappointing experience at the front desk. The receptionist was extremely rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. I was simply trying to find a pen to sign in and moved the sheet to another side, and instead of assisting, she told me not to touch it and then told me to 'relax.' I have been trying to call the last three days to make an appointment. I called Pasadena and Arcadia. Each day is about 30 minutes each 3 times a day waiting. I recently saw Nikhil A. Daga, MD, FACC, super knowledgeable and compassionate cardiologist. I will note FCMG informed me they are in the process of upgrading their EMR to CS-Link (Epic) to better serve the community given a majority of the cardiologists have privileges at Huntington Hospital (which is directly adjacent to their Pasadena office). While scheduling the initial consultation was no issue, I recently have been having symptoms that have resembled POTS and have been trying to see if I can see one of the NP's stat since my next follow up with Dr. Daga is in May. That's when scheduling changed and they said I would have to talk to Dr. Daga's MA who is super nice but very busy. She is responsive to voicemail which I appreciate. I don't understand why the FCMG call center staff can't handle scheduling needs. I do agree the hold times over the phone are excessively long. I wish FCMG could utilize CS-Link messaging as it's more convenient. Anyhow I found as long as I'm persistent and advocating for myself they get the job done. I just hope this EMR transition only temporarily impacts their operations. read more

Their phones line have been not working for 3 business days without any resolution. A cardiologist office who's phone system does not work for 3 business days obviously needs attention immediately. A Thursday, Friday n a Monday. So it wasn't even addressed during the weekend. I'd think the office would have made arrangements to have repair work until it's fixed. Even their business office didn't know the phones weren't working. Was it not reported by the doctors office itself? NOW I'm reading other reviews n I'm noticing complaints about wait times ti get thru to the offices. Really bad experiences (3) with Dr. Nikhil Daga. Very dismissive, talks over me, doesn't listen, and worst of all, every time i did blood work and sent over a meticulous daily blood pressure log, he said he didn't get it. I told him i would appreciate him figuring out a better system than the one he dictated to me, to get these results, otherwise our appointments were meaningless with no data. He told him if he worked on that problem, he would have no time to see patients. Also, in his attempt to make appointment as short as possible and move on to next patient, i got the feeling he just throws drugs at issues. No real discussion about what is happening with me - just add more and more medication. Seems greedy and short-sighted to approach your practice in this manner. I brought my father in as a new patient on 7/11/23 to the Pasadena location. Having worked in Cardiology for 3+ years (10 in medicine), I feel like I have enough experience to judge excellency in service and care. I take care of my elderly father with dementia and work full time so it's a struggle, but Foothill Cardiology in Pasadena was so efficient that I barely had to do a thing! I thought I was going to have to jump through hoops since my father was a new patient and has a medicare HMO. Nope, that wasn't the case. I called to schedule an appointment; they pulled up his authorization and even his insurance info! The new patient intake forms were also VERY easy compared to the ones we gave at the "prestigious hospital" I worked at. Wait times at other places are generally over 1 hour but we were seen within 5 minutes! I thought I was dreaming at how efficient and friendly everyone here was. We didn't have to wait long for the doctor and came into the room after the nurse took his vitals. He saw Dr. Nikhil Daga, who is very knowledgeable and kind. Don't let his young face fool you, he knows what he's talking about, and I would know because I've worked with the best cardiologists in Southern California. Dr.Daga ordered a Stress/Echo and we had both scheduled at checkout. We didn't even do this at my clinic! You'd have to wait at least two weeks to get a callback and Foothill Cardiology did it right there at checkout! I was helped by a very kind gentleman who had a Dodger's Tiki Statue on his desk (sorry I don't recall his name or I would have given him a shoutout here!) The only thing that sucks is that parking is not free (It's not free most places, to be honest). I ended up having to pay $7.50 for a little over an hour since the fire alarm went off. Building management did not make sure everyone had exited the restrooms which is VERY concerning. This place, with these workers, is first in my list of best places to go if you're interested in anything heart related. Dr Fernando Roth is a gentle wizard. So soft spoken, thorough, friendly, sympathetic, and warm. I felt like I was talking with an old friend. He sent into Dr Durairaj (another gentle wizard) for an angiogram and the entire process, from check-in to check-out, was very smooth, amicable, efficient. I have been a heart problem problem now for several Years and have been very happy with their service and their handling of my afip problem. I find Drs. Dugirala, Dr. Khitri and Dr. Lin very competent and caring, and would also recommend the whole Staff starting at the reception desk and to the Assistants helping the Doctors. My only exception that is (was) lacking is the telephone service I had been transfered to. They sounded like a part time childcare service with small children constantly screaming. This place sucks. I do all these tests and am scheduled a year into the future for a specific re-review of my condition. Then I get a letter in mail to reschedule appointment (that has wrong date in letter for my original appointment date) and then they tell me I can't see the doctor until THREE MONTHS AFTER MY ORIGINAL APPOINTMENT DATE since doctor happens to be out of office for one day for my original appointment time. Also, you may get a text or voice message saying someone will contact you to set up an appt with a doc to go over test results but no one calls! If it was an emergency, don't call them! Dr. Roth is a cardiologist at Foothill Cardiology and he is excellent! Two months ago I had a very complicated open heart procedure that was 20 years in the making. It was my 2nd heart surgery so we were prepared this time around. With that said, no amount of preparation puts your mind at ease 100%. Dr. Roth's ability to be there, listening to and answering our questions before game day, was much appreciated. After surgery, I got a blood infection that was pretty serious and Dr. Roth was there in the hospital, making sure that I was taken care of. His positivity and willingness to drop everything to help me, will never be forgotten. Dr. Roth is a doctor who truly cares for his patients and makes the extra effort to advocate for them. I wouldn't wish heart surgery on anyone, but with Dr. Roth and the Foothill Cardiology team on your side, you can't go wrong! read more

I saw Dr. Roth yesterday for my yearly check-in, check-up. He ascertained that my heart was still beating and that the small murmur was stable. He came into the room speaking Spanish as he knows (must have in his notes) that I like to practice. I was with him, let's see, less than 5 minutes, maybe. Felt like that. But you know what? He saved my life a couple of years ago. Insisted I have a couple of exotic heart tests prior to scheduled shoulder surgery. I was in complete denial about the whole process, but I ended up with a stent in my heart and cancellation of the surgery, a surgery which might have killed me as I had an almost completely blocked something or other. I really like the guy. I feel safe in his care. I know that should I need more than five minutes of his attention and expertise, I'll get it. read more

There is a deficit in communications with the attending physician and this deficit is evident in medical assistants responding to patient query, test results, and request for guidance, follow up and physician directives.The Patient Portal does not reflect updated results without repeated prompts and I was only able to secure communications through the office manager, receiving no response on the portal. The front desk personnel are unpleasant, loud and quarrelsome and fail to keep conversations at personal volume to ensure confidentiality. My attending physician was Dr. Conrad, a seasoned cardiologist certainly proficient in the advancement of cardiac electrophysiology. I was referred to Dr. Mayer Rashtian without notice, who is allegedly the "specialist" of the group, and that experience was beyond disturbing. Dr. Rashtian parades around the office rolling a large rickety computer cart barely making it through the exam room doors, failed to lift a stethoscope or examine me as the patient, before prescribing a black-box warning medication. Dr. Rashtian was more concerned that the assistant ensure that I was signed onto his study group for the prescribed drug on my phone rather than give instructions or possible side effects to watch out for. I transferred all of my records immediately to a new cardiologist who secured detailed testing and careful patient care plan that showed no evidence or need for a black-bordered box medication because of serious risks associated with the drug. I had been experiencing severe chest pain, which had already resulted in an ER visit and 2 ambulance visits. I paid out of pocket to , Dr. Luu who recommended that I see a GI specialist and assured me that the tests he ordered would likely not reveal any significant findings. Trusting his professional judgment, I proceeded to see a GI doctor. However, I remained highly concerned about my symptoms. Fortunately, I was able to see another doctor and two weeks later I underwent an abnormal stress test, and a subsequent heart catheterization revealed two blockages, one of which was in my main left artery. As a result, I underwent emergency open-heart surgery. If I had solely followed Dr. Luu's advice, my life would have been at serious risk. read more

I needed to make three appointments and the lack of clear communication had me confused. The person I was dealing with responded with derision and sarcasm implying the lack of clarity was totally on me. I have been to this office in the past and been less than impressed. I just went back for the first time in a few years and met with a new physician name Dr Ungar, and let me tell you HE was amazing. He came into my treatment rom and sat down and performed a real assessment on me. He asked lots of questions and had good follow up questions to ensure he understood my concerns! He sat there talking to me until we came up with a game plan that felt suitable to BOTH of us! He has since followed up with me regularly giving more advice and suggestions for treatment plans. Dr Leo Ungar was a breath of fresh air!! I've already referred on nurse coworker to him and she too was very pleased. I recently completed a 7 week course of EECP treatments. This was recommended by Dr. Kumar to help with my heart failure and related breathing issues. I worked with a technician, Jordan, 5 days a week for one hour each session. Jordan was very professional, courteous and respectful. He truly seemed to care how I was feeling during the treatment. I see Dr. Kumar and Dr. Rashtian, my electrophysiologist, next week to see if the treatment was helpful. I'm hopeful it was. read more

Try finding another cardiology office if you can. The doctors may be fine, but the front desk and office admins are very unhelpful and somewhat incompetent. Every time I needed to make an appointment, order testing from another office or confirm my lab results, the office assistants were rude, unclear, confused or just didn't answer my calls or emails. I'd recommend better training of the office staff, improve patient communication, or maybe hire better professionals. read more

The staff is always very friendly, efficient and goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable.
