I was looking for a certain tennis shoe for my grandson that he wanted for his birthday. I have…read morebeen looking for weeks and no store around had his size. I was going to order them but they were way more expensive on line. I even had stores to tell me they had them and put them back with my name on the box so I could come and pick them up. When I get there, guess what? Not the right shoe, if they even had put back anything. A few of them didn't even do what they said and was RUDE as ever. So, I started going back and looking at stores a little bit further out and that's where I came to RACK ROOM IN HICKORY. I called up and spoke with Larry and he looked up the shoe in the computer and then held on the phone with me to go look on the shelf to make sure they had it and it was the right size and color. I was coming from out of town to pick them up so he even took them to the front desk and put my name on it so there would be no problems when I got there. I called back this morning just to be sure since I have had a time finding these, and I spoke with Sarah and she assured me the tennis shoes were there and waiting. At no time, neither Larry or Sarah was ever short, rude or acted like it was a bother. They both were very pleasant and very nice to work with. The employee's here show professionalism and sincerity in helping the customer. That is rare at this day and time. So, I would like to say THANK YOU ( Larry and Sarah) I really appreciate it. I would most definitely recommend RACK ROOM IN HICKORY!

The store is quite tidy, there was no trash and the aisles were clear. Prices, on the other hand were higher than I was prepared to pay. Take my receipt and different sized shoes to Hickory store in Valley Hills Mall on the following day 11/17 to exchange for 2 correctly sized shoes and get told they cannot take them, I have to drive back to Pineville NC to exchange them at original purchase location. Called customer service line, was told I'd get a call back from a supervisor, never happened, called Pineville store and was told I'd get a call back from a supervisor, never happened, called hickory store twice and asked for the manager and was told they can't help me, was advised to drive 1.5 hours back to the Pineville store. I was essentially told to drive the 1+ hours round trip to the Hickory store and return it myself (I am 75 and rarely drive to Hickory), or pack it up and ship it back and pay the $10 return postage and wait a month for the credit. Their online fabric description was completely incorrect for the shirts I bought, it made a lot of difference for the fabric care, so I wanted to return them immediately since the online description was wrong. Online chat supervisor did not care and essentially told me "too bad." I am furious. Their mistake, and I have to pay to ship back an item with the wrong description? Cutting up my Kohl's card now.
