I took my granddaughter in to get sized for some shoes. They said it would take 7-14 days for the shoes to come in. A month later, I called to check on my order, a guy answered, said he'd check on my order and get back to me later that day or the next day. 2 weeks later, I called again and got the exact same response. I asked to just cancel the order and was told that I had to come back to the store, which I live 45 minutes way, so I could have my money put back on my card. I have problems with my left ankle for a long time. I tried orthotics from a specialty chain store that worked OK and then a pair from a local medical provider that were so bad I needed surgery. After that I still had problems, luckily I got directed to the foot performance center where Don fitted me and they are great. I have now walked further without pain than I have in several decades. We were in today for an evaluation for my wife with severe drop foot in both feet from a severe brain injury in an effort to allow her to stand again with proper foot support. Unfortunately, Dan stated that he would lose money on the job submitting it through insurance because she needed such an extreme lift for her shoes so he used his discretion and would not accept it for that reason, we would need to pay 100% out of pocket. As a person with disabilities and state insurance, coverage options are limited. I find it extremely discriminatory to choose when they will and will not accept insurance. So if her disability wasn't as bad he would have used her insurance? They wouldn't even submit a partial and have us pay a balance, it's an all or nothing scenario. It's a shame when people with disabilities are knocked down instead of lifted up for things out of their control. I'm in disbelief that they accept her insurance but are choosing not to allow her to use it because of the degree of her need. I was hoping for a better experience here so that she could stand again but what a serious let down. read more

After a previous attempt to get shoes for my poor feet at a local competitor (who shall remain nameless), I was convinced that finding shoes that fit properly and did not look like hospital shoes was an impossible task. This should be lower then one star! Read the reviews for yourself. I hear "Insurance paperwork takes time", "We will work w/ staff to improve ourselves". This starts from the top down. I reached out to the newest owner by e-mail as well as voicemail, the man didn't have the courtesy to call me back, he had someone else do it. Same old song and dance I have been waiting for diabetic shoes since October of 2021, it's now near the end of May 2022. You call, and nothing but excuses, (IE: "We hired a new company to do our insurance billing", "Your Dr. didn't send the right paperwork" and then "Your Dr. never responded". One excuse after another 7 MONTHS of waiting. 0 stars is what I wished I could give them! Tired of excuses, let's see some action as by the reviews I'm not alone. read more

I was recently fitted for custom orthotics to help with a long term foot injury. I tend to dread anything that has to do with shoe shopping for my rather large damaged feet. The people there were very helpful in educating me on the correct shoes to look for and they had many in stock in my size! The pricing is very comparable to other mid/high end shoe stores which is necessary at times. Not everyone can walk around on a pair of $50 shoes. I will definitely be going back. read more

We purchased sports insoles for my son that work great. We had an issue with one of them and the attendant at the store listened to my issue willingly. The store resolved the issue with a replacement and actually altered the replacement so we wouldn't run into the same issue due to how my son walks. Excellent Customer Service! I enjoyed the experience in this store enough to purchase a pair of shoes while I was there and they are fantastic. I wouldn't have taken the time write this but felt it was important that I did because like everyone we always turn to the internet to buy everything. My shopping experience at this store was great and now I will make sure if I need something I will definitely go back before searching elsewhere. I don't give five stars easily, but this place is worth every star and more. Turns out I have toes that grow unusually close together, and when you combine that with increased yoga and Barre exercise AND come home for a global pandemic and stop wearing shoes AND have wooden floors (read: no cushioning padding), you inflame and pinch the nerve that is between those close-growing toes. For a couple months I had a deep ache in the ball and pad of my right foot, and finally made an appointment with a podiatrist (not easy to get in Rochester, lemme tell ya!) While waiting the 7 weeks for the appointment, the podiatrist recommended I visit the Foot Performance Store to see if they could offer some non-prescription inserts and/or toe-spacers, to help relieve the pain. That's just what Sean did -- I came home with various sets of rubbery inserts that spread my toes, so as not to put pressure on that pinched nerve. As well as a pair of extra-wide shoes I could wear around the house and while exercising at home, that do not put pressure on my toes (thanks, fashion for women, which pinch all your toes together!) I've worked with Sean a couple times since that first visit, as we refine what works for my specific needs. He is attentive and super-helpful, while not being overbearing or pushy AT ALL. I am deeply impressed with their retail offerings of all types of shoes -- be they fashion-forward, or workout related, or wear-around-the-house ... as well as all things orthotic/insert to help with feet issues. I can't say enough good things about this store. Huge selection of quality shoes for difficult --and regular -- feet and incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff. They helped our 90-year-old mom find just the right shoes, and while they were helping her, my sister found two pair she just had to have. I suffered a tibial tendon rupture last summer, and was referred by the orthopaedic surgeon to the Foot Performance Center. The professionalism and knowledge the employees have is reassuring and refreshing. I had custom orthotics made for my athletic shoes, was fitted for 'off the rack' inserts for my riding boots. The orthotics were prescribed by my doctor to see if their use could help me avoid surgery. I did not need surgery - rather, I did PT and don't wear 'stupid shoes', cheap-o shoes. No more high heels for me, but not a deal-breaker. I actually plan on contacting them for a new pair of inserts for my riding boots to ensure I have proper support. read more

Very disappointed with our experience here. Poor customer service. It took forever because we were ignored for a long time, then the person who was supposed to be helping us was talking to her co-workers about local restaurants for a long time. When she finally helped us she didn't seem to know what she was doing, or care for that matter. I had the transaction all set up in advance because our insurance was already notified and the Dr. faxed the script over. At the very end she had me fill out a form that could have been filled out in the beginning and saved time. Instead I was late for work. WILL NOT be back and I do not recommend. read more

So I have been running all over town to find a GOOD pair of non-slip work shoes. I am a cook by trade, so every penny spent is worth it to me. I have been trying lots of different options in different price ranges lately to solve my knee and back issues. After 2 exhausting days of running all over the place to every store possible, I finally came here. They hooked it up right in less than half an hour. They measured my feet, took imprints, watched my gait and gave me the perfect shoe and insole to meet my needs. Most shoe stores do not have staff knowledgeable about their often mediocre at best products, or the needs of different people who work on their feet. Brian knew exactly what would work best for me, they have a great selection of quality wide and extra wide shoes. and he fitted me with the perfect insole. Immediately I felt the difference by just standing and walking around the store. It has been hard finding the right way to accommodate my very high arches, extra wide feet and the needs of a comfortable and durable. The initial price was much more than what I'm used to spending on a work shoe, but Keen is a quality shoe, this is the best non-slip sole out there, and the insert is worth it. I can put it in any shoe and now I know exactly what I need. Any future reorders of the same shoe gets a 15% discount. Just having someone take the time to sell me what works best for ME, was worth the extra expense. They also have all my info on file so it will be simple to get shoes that are right for me in the future,or to special order whatever I would like.
