Plain Crumb cake

The plain crumb cake was delicious. The decor is very cute and cozy. Along with the staff being super helpful. Maddie and Angus were awesome.

Gluten free pizza crust disgusting mush you can't even pick up. Doesn't even resemble pizza crust would not recommend at all
Traci B.

The gluten free pizza was the very very worst I've ever had. I've had many bad crusts but this one doesn't even resemble pizza and not one person in our party of 8 would eat it. Toppings are delicious but this isn't even passable as pizza. You can't pick it up and it's basically mush. If you're gluten free don't bother!

fresh squeezed orange juice is amazing! $8 is definitely a lot but so worth it!!

Rude hostess. They steered me away. Hysterically laughing on the phone with the other host when I asked if they had a market section.

The best crumb cake on the island. The brownies are also delicious and offers so much variety. A must stop whenever on LBI.

Solid açaí bowls at a good price for the island. Wait was a little long but otherwise a good experience, doesn't deserve 1.5 stars.

Neptune Market is an absolute gem that truly has a little bit of everything! My boyfriend and I…read morestopped by on two separate mornings to grab a quick breakfast. He introduced me to a well-known LBI staple: taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser roll. One bite, and I understood the hype! It was delicious, especially paired with a side of home fries loaded with onions and peppers. It was hearty enough to keep me full until dinner! Both the food and service were excellent, making this a must-visit spot for breakfast or lunch. Just a heads-up: it gets extremely crowded as noon approaches, so I'd recommend arriving early if you're hoping to grab a seat and enjoy your meal without the wait. Definitely worth a stop when visiting LBI!

My family has been coming to Neptune Market for years, so this was a disappointing visit. We…read morestopped in for a quick breakfast, but what should have been a simple order ended up taking nearly an hour. All I ordered was a pork roll, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser roll with a hash brown patty. I understand they were very busy, but the wait still felt excessive for such a basic breakfast sandwich. I was also surprised to find out that after 11:00 a.m. they stop serving pancakes and omelets, even though breakfast sandwiches are still available. It would have been nice if the full breakfast menu was offered a little longer. The biggest issue for me, however, was food handling. I watched employees place dirty register receipts directly on top of prepared sandwiches, including an egg and cheese that sat with the receipt on it for several minutes. Thermal receipts aren't something I want touching my food, and it completely turned me off. I also noticed several employees with long hair and facial hair working without hairnets or beard nets, which didn't inspire confidence in the kitchen's sanitation practices. Neptune Market has always been a family favorite because the food is tasty and reasonably priced, so it's disappointing to leave this review. I hope they can improve their food handling practices and kitchen hygiene because I'd love to see them get back to the standards that kept us coming back for so many years.

After I updated my review to address the owner's original response, she responded again, calling my concerns "hysterical" and telling me to "focus on actual real world problems." At this point, I think the responses speak for themselves. I described something I personally witnessed while standing in this business and explained the impression it left on me. The owner was free to disagree with my account or provide her perspective. Instead, the responses have consisted of sarcasm, mockery, comments about my unrelated review history, and now dismissing my concerns as not being a "real world" problem. I find this extraordinarily unprofessional behavior from someone publicly responding under a "Business Owner" account. Customers should be able to leave critical reviews without being personally mocked or belittled by the owner. Nothing in these responses changes what I personally witnessed. If anything, the way this criticism has been handled has become an additional reason I would not recommend or return to this business. I have included screenshots so readers can see the owner's responses and form their own opinion. UPDATE 8/12: The business owner's response to my review has only reinforced my decision not to return. Rather than professionally addressing what I personally witnessed involving another customer, the owner responded with sarcasm, personal attacks, and comments about my completely unrelated review history. I found the response extremely unprofessional and, frankly, childish. A business owner should be able to address criticism without mocking a customer or attempting to discredit them personally. I do not know the younger customer involved; I simply witnessed the interaction while I was there waiting to order. The owner's response does not change what I personally saw or the impression it left on me. I won't be shopping here again. I've given this place a few chances because I wanted to be fair, but what I witnessed today was the final straw. I was standing in line getting ready to order when I watched who I assume was the owner walk over to a younger customer who was seated and just about to drink his coffee. She told him he needed to get up and move to make room for people who had just walked in. I walked out without ordering. The whole interaction left a terrible impression on me. Younger customers deserve the same basic courtesy and respect as everyone else, and what I witnessed came across as dismissive and biased based on age. I won't support a business where I feel younger customers are treated as less important than others.

I like the sandwich combos and the gluten free cauliflower wrap is a very nice thing to have. I have a few gripes too. -no Swiss cheese (I eat Swiss cheese w my egg sammies and ham and roast beef sammies) I scratch my head with this oversight. 1 demerit. -the eggs "made to order" are not made to order they fry up like 25 eggs and leave them laying on the griddle until someone walks in and orders an egg sandwich. They taste overcooked and it's just not gourmet I think they should stop this practice. 2 demerits. -the ordering kiosk system is great and it frees up employees to cook etc but you cannot ask for things you might want personalized like eggs over easy, sunny side up etc. thus only cook your egg one way (see above). 2 demerits. -you can "add mayo" to your egg sammy but there's no option to add butter to the bagel or roll ‍. 1 demerit. -I ordered the Italian sub and it comes with oregano. It literally is like a oregano powder they ruined the sandwich it was terrible! We need an option for "delete oregano". 1 demerit. -when the kitchen calls your name when your order is ready they just throw the little cardboard box of food through the window. It doesn't have your name on it, or any identifier for confirmation of what you ordered. Also no bag. Please fix this it's poor user experience. 1 demerit. Based on demerits issued above this place is 3 stars but I have them 4 because they can easily improve to 4 by fixing a few simple issues. To get to 5 stars they would need to add salads, made to order breakfast, some scrapple, and more ambiance!

White's Market is a small, rustic market…read more If you need to do a large grocery run, need to feed lots of people, and aren't ready to spend $100+, I'd recommend taking a longer drive off the island so that you won't feel the sticker shock. If you need to pick up a few staples or items that you need for your home cooked lunch or dinner in your summer/rental home, this is the most convenient marketplace for extra goods in Barnegat Light. Purchases here support a local business of the island, which is a nice mental reframe. There's not a large variety of different packaged items, but it does the job when you're in a pinch. They also have household goods, snacks, and produce. There is a butcher in the back of the market as well as pastries and bagels tucked away (I heard they're delicious, but unfortunately I could not have any as I'm gluten free). They also have a mini fridge in the back which hoagies to go as well as cheese. If you want a sandwich made fresh for you or cold cuts to go, they do that too! They also have free tootsie rolls by the butcher which I thought was a cute touch. Note: they are no longer "Cash Only" and accept credit card as payment! Grab a free local newspaper (The Sandpaper - haha so cute) here as well if you want to know high/low tides within the next week.
