Must've been having a bad day or something.... Maybe. She was talking to her coworker cordially when I walked in but when I went to her register I received no greeting at all. As she was preparing my change another customer got in her line and she looked at the lady, rolled her eyes, and huffed audibly. Not cool shannan. Bad day or not, if you're in customer service your job is still to be at least cordial to the customers. Again, she was fine talking to her coworker before I or the next customer got in her line. At least the young lady at the next register told me to have a nice day before I walked out.

I saw that there was a Publix in Pigeon Forge and knew that's where we'd need to go to get our picnic supplies! Because we had flown in (and didn't have picnic basket on our pack list), I knew that we needed to get a small cooler to keep our drinks and sandwiches cool on the warm spring day. Fortunately, Publix had a nice variety of small lunch box size coolers and we found one for a reasonable price that was perfect for what we needed and would collapse down for easy packing to bring it home. We then made our way to the deli and got fresh, deli made sandwiches made with boar's head meats and cheeses. They're fully customizable and we very much enjoyed them! We were also able to grab some fruit, pretzel crisps, boar's head hummus, and bottled beverages to round out our picnic. Everything was great, prices were reasonable, and we enjoyed a beautiful picnic in this beautiful area. One note would be that the deli does get busy. We were there in the ease of spring (ie: no big National Park crowds) and we still had to wait in a bit of a line for our deli sandwiches. So, just something to factor into scheduling. That said, we didn't mind a bit and the sandwiches were worth the wait. Get to it!

It was beyond lunch time and I hadn't eaten at all, so I looked around as we drove and saw the sign for this place. I love a good deli sandwich so I asked my husband to pull in and let me run in. It was a Wednesday afternoon and after lunch, so there were only a few people inside. Upon entering, I went in a door that was at a dessert counter. There were few cupcakes and treats in the case, so I quickly went on past to find the counter to order a sandwich. The ladies at the counter were super friendly and took my order quickly. I chose a hot ham and cheese sandwich with bbq potato chips and a fountain drink. The order took about 7 or 8 minutes to be prepared and brought to me in a box to the table where I sat and waited. There was seating outside by the river/creek(?) I believe and then there was seating inside. It looks like it was once another restaurant or some other establishment taht they have transformed into this deli. Don't let the looks of the inside deter you, though! The food was phenomenal! My sandwich was so delicious! I have made note that if ever in the area again, I will be back!
