This Ingles sits just off of 59 in Trenton and seems to be the anchor of this exit. While grocery…read morestores are not normally on my itinerary on road trips, I made the pit stop into this Ingles for a potty break due to the neighboring gas station not having facilities available...and since I was already there, I did a bit of browsing and shopping. The store, like most Ingles, is a bit dated and worn. The brand is not known for shiny new and updates stores, so this location is definitely "classic". Since I was traveling, I stayed in the interior aisles and picked up a few snacks and staples that I needed, saved me a trip closer to home. I will say that Ingles is a bit pricey compared to other grocery stores, surprisingly so on majority of the items I scoped, fresh food and all. Check out was okay. The cashier was nice, but not "friendly" or engaging. I get it is a transaction, and it definitely felt just as such. Overall, I get the need and dependence on this location for the local community. Good spot for groceries, just a bit high on prices and service could use some tweaks.

Today I bought a small 4 pack of watermelon slices, $2.71, and just got home with it. The fruit tasted off, as though it was old and soured, or soaked in unclean water, so I threw it out. Watermelon should never be soaked in water, this stuff was really bad. The mgr for this section needs to be more careful, not the first time I bought fresh products from this section which had to be thrown away. The employees here are very nice, just this fresh produce section you need to be careful.

There packaged ice is half the price of anyone else's and I live in my automotive, so I buy ice everyday for my cooler of food , and it's what I call " the good ice " . It comes in a 16 lb bag for a 1.99$ . It doesn't melt as fast as all the other ice as it's ice shape and thickness makes it melt slower than all the others . I love these stores . What happened to my Publix?…read more This store opened and was such a breathe of fresh air from the other stores that are around. Service was GREAT! You could always find what you need, associates were helpful, REGISTERS WERE OPEN, and prices are good. Fast forward six months. Sections of shelves are empty. The staff, especially newer folks, are surly and rude. Management is never on the floor. Registers are never open! Why are there three register and only two self-check registers open at 6:30 on a Sunday?! 5-6 people in line at each register and no one is willing to open a new register? Never in my life would I think that I would feel more welcome at Walmart than at Publix. Come on Publix. You're better than this. At least you used to be.
