What can I say about Aldi that hasn't been said? This aldi was recently renovated. Beer and wine selection is on point. Produce is excellent - but goes fast, and they can't really tell you when they will get more, so if you want the 69 cent avocados, get them early. If you haven't checked out the specialty aisle, you should. They have seasonal items that are only around for a limited time. And my advice here - you're going to love the product you buy so buy two. I'm still said I only tried the sea salted caramel cookies once. It was a sad sad day when I couldn't get them anymore. Gluten free food section is smaller than world market, earth fair, etc, but prices and products are great and it's very well organized. Aldi is so freaking organized. I never see misplaced products, I always know where to go to get something. They stock the items that are purchased frequently, and keep their product section looking wonderful. It is packed every time I go - I have yet to find a time that it is slow, so any advice there, let me know. I love their reusable bags, I bought the insulated one, and two of the smaller bags, and they hold so much and don't break! Aldi is great! Since we don't have a Trader Joe's in Chattanooga, this is the next best thing. Lots of the products are similar to TJ's. I can find most everything I need here. The prices are great as is the produce, which is now all organic. The lines can be pretty long as it seems they never have enough cashiers working. The parking lot is just as busy as any Trader Joe's too. Love that they recently renovated and slightly expanded this market. read more

Aldi is my first stop. I love shopping there. It is always clean. Variety is usually good, but some things have run short here, as they have in all other groceries. Rarely do I have to make my way around large carts and stockers, they seem to take care of those chores after hours, which I appreciate. read more

Some advice: If you are getting more than a handful of items, but less than a buggy-full, look for empty cardboard product cases as you are going down the aisles to put your groceries in, since Aldi doesn't use grocery bags. Also, their Choceur line of chocolates are TO DIE FOR. I hadn't previously liked dark chocolate, but theirs is truly outstanding. I've come to prefer Choceur's dark chocolate over regular chocolate. Finally, at the checkout aisle, they have individual packages of Sweet & Spice Trail mix. Pick up a couple of these and add them to your salads at home. Instant upgrade in flavor. read more

I save so much money shopping here. Either my wife or I go just about every Monday night when our daughters are in dance class up the road. The only thing that I'm not crazy about is that they don't take credit cards but I understand that that is one of the many ways that they keep their prices so low. Make sure you bring a quarter to rent the buggy and your own bags. I think if you shop here, you'll be amazed at the money you can save. I'm also impressed at how often they get new items. Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo so there are so many products geared towards that that will probably be gone when I return next Monday and replaced with new items. Most of the time it isn't too bad. Some cashiers realize the hassle it is to move a 2 year old from one cart to another while they are slinging items into an empty buggy. I get you want to be fast, but realize by me having to move a toddler over to a different cart is going to slow you down. I also don't appreciate walking in and grabbing a handful of items, having them loaded into a cart and when I go to take the cart to bag said items, I'm told I can just do it there, while the cashier is already ringing up the next customer and putting their items in the cart. I realize I didn't have a cart to begin with and God forbid I walk off with a cart with a quarter in it, but the customer service thing to do would be to say "ma'am, if you can bring the cart back when you're done bagging, that would be a huge help". But no, the cashier had me awkwardly bag items in the seat of a cart, being 9 months pregnant and having the next customer in line wait on me. I know why the prices are low, it's because only 1 out of 5 employees are customer friendly or just aware of their surroundings. Other than lacking in service most of the time, I enjoy shopping at Aldi. I just need to remember it isn't a friendly place for one parent to take small children in. read more

Dear Ooltewah Aldi, You do NOT make it easy for a mother with small children to shop. While I appreciate the good prices... your system of scanning groceries and placing them into another cart... has issues!! Example... when you see that a mother has a small child DO NOT FILL the front seat up with groceries knowing that full well she will have NO place to put her kid when you force her to switch carts. Your signs say you don't want us to sit our kid on the counters where we bag our own groceries but you leave us NO choice... when you put groceries where we would have switched our kid over into the new cart. AND to the cashier who actually pulled my kid in my cart away from me while I was trying to find room to place her... all so you could start loading the next persons stuff... DON'T YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN. That is NOT okay. EVER. I don't care how long the line is. If you had paid attention to the fact I had a BABY with me and not filled the front seat up then this would be a non issue. Y'all could do a much better job at opening more check out lanes too. Often times the lines are crazy long. People in line always moan and complain about it.... but your prices are good and that's the only reason we put up with this nonsense. I should note that I've only had this problem at the OOLTEWAH Aldi. The Hixon one doesn't do that... they pay attention to whose next in line and if they have kids riding in the cart or not. I love Aldi but prices have gone up some. Fruits and veges are good most of time. Dairy is always fresh. Beer is tasty. Canned and other dry goods are excellent quality. I buy their chicken but beef is low quality. Frozen food is good except for biscuits. read more

My new favorite Aldi in the area. I live between this and the Lee Highway location. When school is in session, this one is a bit easier to reach. The floor plan makes it seem like there is more navigation space. The parking lot is private too which I appreciate. I haven't noticed a huge difference in what the two different Aldi's carry. Same great value and yummy chocolates at both! And that brioche bread is heavenly. read more

The store itself is great,but the security officer we encountered today was horrible, never have I been talked to in such a way, nor has anyone ever treated my special needs child so rudely. I took a chance on this store because it is more convenient than the hixson store. Though today Susan from the Eastgate location wouldn't check me out until I took my groceries out of a box. She was pretty rude about it.
