Neighborhood Co-Op is one of those places you can become a member at and get discounts and other things. Maybe the prices are kind of high, but there's a lot of harder to find items. There's a lot in here for plant based eating, as well as for those wanting to eat healthier, and local. Came to get a few things while on a visit and got more than expected. It's bigger than it looks. There's a lot of aisles, and has a good amount of baked goods, along with some pretty fresh produce. A lot of natural and organic items. They have a lot of the Applegate Farms products if you want organic meats and sausage. Of course there's plenty of plant based. They have non dairy items like nut milks and yogurts. In the bakery there was vegan zucchini bread. The prices in here are kind of high, but if you become a member you get coupons and specials. Has to be a stop if you're shopping for organics around here. It's located in the Murdale Shopping Center on West Main Street. There's a ton of things for vegans and vegetarians.

I'm impressed with this store. It's well stocked with…read more fresh organic produce. There's bulk items one can bag such as nuts, granola, and coffee beans to name a few. All coffee beans are organic. The regular (with caffeine) beans offered are Espresso, Ethiopian, Guatemalan, Columbian, and Peruvian and sell for $15.99/lb. The Decaf beans offered are French Roast and Breakfast Blend for $18.49/lb. If you enjoy baking they have a nice lineup of Bob's Red Mill products including several gluten free, non GMO, flours. King Arthur products are also available, although not as numerous. When I make my homemade chili or spaghetti sauce I use organic Muir Glen whole peeled tomatoes, sauce, and paste. I was happy to see all were available here. The only other product I'll comment on is their ice cream - Alden's. The best ice cream (IMHO) is Alden's Vanilla Bean. It's organic, has all natural ingredients (no high fructose corn syrup), and tastes delicious! It's made in Oregon and I've found that a lot of major chain stores do not carry it. If you get a chance to try it, it's a must! They have a "Hot Bar" where hot food can be purchased separately or as a whole meal. Daily specials are listed on the board behind the counter. While shopping one of the employees asked me if I was finding everything ok. I thanked him and thought it was nice of him to ask. Other employees were busy putting new products and produce on the shelves but took time to say hi and they seemed to be enjoying their work. The setting is in an older building that's part of the old Murdoch Shopping plaza. It's a comfortable feeling while shopping - no hustling and bustling here. Coops are a really great idea and this one comes through with shining colors! It's hard to eat healthy these days but shopping here makes it a lot easier. If you haven't already, please check them out...and eat healthy!

I do not understand why the management does not train their employees to be courteous and competent. It is appalling! When I spend hundreds of dollars on groceries, I expect a simple thank you and please come again at the very least. I expect all the items I purchase to be put in bags and not left on the counter. I expect to be charged the correct price for my items. I expect my items not to be damaged by poor bagging skills. I do not expect to have to tell a grocery cashier what celery is. I do not expect to have to bag my own groceries because there is no staff. I have an unpleasant experience every time I shop at these stores. I feel this is an egregious lack of competency on the part of the store management. And given the current price of groceries, this is not acceptable.

What a strange place! I've spent my share of time in Kroger locations but this one felt like…read moretaking a spin in the Twilight Zone. I'm not familiar with Paducah, KY but the average age of shopper appeared to be 114 years old. Living in FL, I know what a retirement community looks like and NEVER did I expect to see an older population. I reckon my opinion really doesn't matter because I'm just passing through but I would have assumed this place was in or adjacent to a retirement community.

The Fudge shop down the sidewalk was also closed;they have some sort of eats besides fudge. Well ,we went to Grammer's Market for deli sandwiches. GOOD CHOICE ! I am so glad the seafood people went missing. The kind ladies said that it was more often than not that the place is closed without even posting a "closed" sign in the window. They even blew off a TV interview boosting the local area! We counted at least a dozen people looking for seafood and leaving disgusted after traveling that far. Grammer's Ta Ta ! Now,on to the good part. The food. You can get a regular sandwich or an up graded one for about a buck more. The "Hog" sized one is double the meat and cheese, if my memory serves me right. They have their own specials plus normal deli fare;roast beef, turkey, etc. I finally got a braunschwager - YUM ! Forgive spelling error but you know what I mean. There is a "piglet"; half sandwich for kiddie appetite. Nice touch. They have various drinks, chips, cookies, etc. As they prepare your lunch you can browse the antiques, souveniers, all the things you might expect. There is indoor seating or you can go down to the covered picnic area and eat. We chose that because our piglet would have destroyed the place looking for snow globes, her latest mania. I don't like to bad mouth a place I have never been to but if they don't want to do business during the week it should be posted. They have a "candid camera" outside the place and we gave them the all American salute,if you get my drift... Go to Alto Pass for very good deli sandwiches. Trust me.
