This review is simply out of one grocery trip that we took here. We are not from the area so we really don't typically come to this food 4 less. At a particular time we came, you come across their produce area first which we were so impressed with how clean and organized all of their items were. The five stars really come from the fresh meat selections that they had. We were able to buy ribeyes and a whole prime rib For roasting for the holidays for less than $100! read more

Do not buy the Ranchera/Arrachera, they do not know how to cut the pieces, they leave a lot of fat and the silver membrane. You better off paying more at a Mexican meat market where they know how to cut them. Unless you like all the fat on it go ahead and buy it. read more

It has been years since I shopped here. It's a bright and clean warehouse setting/setup. We were looking for things to make dinner We wanted steaks, cheese, potato salad, milk, green salad, and papery. Steaks were average price but nice cuts. Cheeses were in 2 different areas on opposite ends of the store. Some products had a wide selection such as frozen meats, but some products had kinumited varieties such as the salad dressing. No very likely to shop here anytime soin. read more

What people don't need are self entitled management at this store in Manteca making things up as they go to pull power trips because they can and get away with it, And it's only getting worse at this store. So you can expect to find bone fragments in your boneless/skinless chicken,being told that it's policy to only give you $10 off a $25 coupon when there is absolutely nothing wrong with the coupon, disrespected Infront of customers by being told you are a karen and to have the day you deserve when you tell them they are wrong. Don't expect management to be respectful, professional or more knowledgeable about their own policy's.. in this time right now with what's going on with people being able to afford to eat,you don't talk down to customers or yell out calling them a Karen and have the day we deserve with out consequences. Parking was easy not to busy on a Sunday afternoon first time visiting this store wasn't to bad big clean easy to locate where everything was aisle are nice and wide with signage up high and big so easy to read nice selection of grocery items prices were good left with a lot of items think I paid less than my normal grocery store. I purchased chicken gizzards recently for my cats and when I opened the pack at home I was not happy with what I discovered. The pad that supposed to soak in blood was soaked with water about 0.4 pound. The weight on the package label was 1.54 pound, but when I weighed the net weight of gizzards it was only 1.1 pound when multiplied by $1.99 per pound it should cost $2.19 instead they were charging $3.06 which is 87 cents overcharge. The Net Weight on the package was 1.54 pounds, should they include water and packaging weight in NET weight? read more

I don't come to Food 4 Less often.,, I was in a pinch and needed a pinata... Found exactly what I needed. I was looking through the rest of the store for a few items to grab for our pantry and noticed that there was not much variety. Very little organic options. Lots of processed food and junk that is not good for you. Meat looked good. I bought lots of cucumbers, bananas, apples and the pinata and a gallon of milk and ran out of there.... The only reason I am giving less stars is the cashier had hickeys on her neck...very unprofessional... wear a scarf and hid it...just looks trashy. Also noticed there was hardly any employees working. Just one cashier/register open and only one other employee I saw around the store-- and it was only 8pm! read more

Produce is old and sometimes even rotten with gnats. Roma tomatoes and cucumbers are so bad sometimes when you grab to check for firmness your finger goes right through. YUCK ! The bananas are so mistreated and covered with bruises due to the way store employees just throw them around... it's ridiculous the lack of care taken and yes I have seen them do it many many times Lunchmeats sometimes seem already going bad when I get them home and open the package, and this happens quite often even though the date is plenty far out. They must not be kept cold enough at some point. Several times I have also seen freshly stocked shelves with an obviously rotten pkg of bologna placed right in the front when it should have been removed. Milk occasionally bought there does not last long, and must be used up quickly once brought home before it starts to turn well before the date. I have also bought sliced cheese and when I opened it 2 days later it had mold. Some of the employees are nice but some just really shouldn't be working with the public because they have horrible customer service skills. I will probably not go there anymore. This early morning between 6:05am - 6:25am approximately give or take a minute...Anyway, the gal that rang up my items was less than friendly. Lacked common courtesy and she had a stance like a NFL QB. True. She didn't realize that she was waiting on a good human being who can diagnose these mental health issues without scrutiny. She was waiting to pounce on me for whatever reason. She was over thinking her profiling specifically on "guess who?" That's right! Even more so this disease and mental illness should be looked into. The young man on his forklift was more of a good employee and he actually had exhibited above average those great customer service skills as he was doing his tasks. Don't know his name the young man on the forklift and he was able to decide on a item that I never tried before. So I bought 2!!! I trusted his judgment call. And was right! Very very good! This was a curious place. As I walked away from my car, a woman offered to wash my windshield. There seemed to be various homeless people around the store. The store was amazingly organized. I expected items in their bulk boxes with the tops cut off. It was much more like a typical store, and their prices reflected that. It seemed higher than Raley's and about the same as Safeway or Save Mart. When I saw that they were open 24 hours a day, I expected a bit of a circus like PathMark in Philly or New Jersey, but it seemed very well-maintained, even at the registers. I was even impressed with those getting carts, as they really showed some effort, regardless of the heat. I probably won't shop there unless I need something after other stores have closed, but it's always an option. Update 2015.04.10: I was over at Del Taco, and decided to give this store a second look. I've been looking at various stores lately for different deals. I was also interested in the store after seeing their trucks with the Ralph's logo on the same trucks. I'd shopped regularly at Kroger's, the parent company of Ralph's. The store doesn't have a lot for me, but I noticed that they have good produce, and some frozen items that I would buy, such as Marie Callender's beef pot pies and individual cream pies. There were many Mexican items, and very few Asian items. Produce really looked good and they had the Bolthouse Farms juice and mocha cappuccino that I buy, cheaper than most stores. They don't seem to have any hand baskets, but they had plenty of carts outside. No one offered to wash my windshield this time. read more

Food 4 Less is a great supermarket option located near 120/99. I like the fact that they're open 24 hours and they typically have all of the items I want in stock. Their prices are much better than Raley's or Savemart and despite living near both of those stores, I'll go out of my way to Food 4 Less because the savings is noticeable enough to justify the drive. The only reason this place gets 4 out of 5 stars is because most of the times I'm there, their produce area is of a crappy quality and it's hard to find the produce I want in a good enough shape to eat. That, and their damn radio commercials. That song gets stuck in my head all the time and will probably make me go insane at some point.
