If you are planning to get rhinoplasty done here: read this first. I want to tell my story about what I heard in the OR after my surgery, and how my journey went. It's been a little over a year and my although my nose isn't horrible; it definitely could have been better. I believe that Dr. M has the ability to do decent rhinoplasty but I wouldn't say it's his strongest skill. Especially if you come in with uneven nostrils/septum/nose. What bothers me most is when I overheard a concerning comment in the OR. The rhinoplasty was performed under twilight anesthesia so I was in and out of sleep and able to hear the whole time. Dr.M had a female doctor or nurse working alongside him on my nose. At the end of my surgery as I was coming to, Dr. M said to the woman something along the lines of "look at how good it turned out" and she responded with "it looks good but look at this left side it's uneven" he sort of leaned and said "no that's just the nostril" and she responded stating something along the lines of the left side looking bigger. He then sounded annoyed and responded saying nostrils aren't supposed to be even as long as the nose is. And I'm laying there thinking ummm what? Then some of the staff leave the OR and as they're wheeling me out the doors ,I see that same female (doctor? Nurse?) talking to a different colleague about what just happened stating she felt it was uneven. As she saw us walk out she stopped her conversation. I don't think they expected me to overhear any of this . Fast forward to today. My nose was slightly crooked before and now it is even more crooked. I even had doctors bring it up to me and ask if I had noticed . At fist I was told by Dr. M that it was swelling but evidently it's not, it is just uneven and crooked and overall larger on the left side. Now he had mentioned from the beginning that he doesn't work on nostrils , understood , but the nose itself is not even. I understand everyone heals differently, but I do not feel that Dr. M is skilled, or cares enough to work on slightly complex rhinoplasty's. Maybe if you have a bump and need it removed , he'd be good for it. But anything slightly more complex, especially if it's unevenness in your septum or tip, I'd go elsewhere , someone who specializes in Rhinoplasty. Again, my nose is not horrible , but I believe there are better surgeons in the area for Rhinoplasty. read more

I have had a rhinoseptoplasty and and alar reduction in his office. Both went smoothly with no complications. I had some concerns after my year of healing from the first procedure, my tip was still looking very round, and asked about going under again. He didn't want to open me up again but offered a better solution of a steroid injection to help reduce swelling. That fixed my concern. For many years I had been thinking to get nose corrective surgery done and after a bit of research on potential options I finally got it done at Folsom Plastic Surgery, Yay!! I was nervous at first though, but I am glad I took this decision. Dr. Mabourakh and his team were very courteous and professional throughout the journey. During the first consultation a 3D scan was taken and expected nose corrections were simulated. Next was pre-op visit in which vitals were checked and written pre-op & post-op care instructions were given. Then on surgery day the doctors again explained the procedures and performed the operation. I was given some pain meds & anesthesia due to which I did not feel any pain. After the operation I had a nose cast on my nose which came off on the first post-op visit. It takes about 1 year after Rhinoplasty for all the subtle changes to complete on the nose but I would say a few weeks after surgery it was clear that major goals had been achieved. The excess bone on the upper part of nose had been removed and the inner cartilage lessened which helped to flatten the hump. The nose tip was droopy originally so it was pushed up. The whole nose was wide so it got narrowed a bit. Since it was a closed Rhinoplasty, there were no scars on the outside of the nose, the bleeding & bruising were minimal (I did follow the doc/nurse care advise word by word). So five stars for the polite & friendly reception/office staff and knowledgeable/skill-full/courteous doctors/nurses. Thank you for helping me improve my facial appearance. read more

Dr. Mabourakh and his team are amazing! I just had my BA procedure done in March 2021 and I'm so happy with my results so far. I had been contemplating for years and have had numerous consultations with different doctors all over the bay area and I felt as comfortable as I did with Dr. Mabourakh. I live in the South Bay and made the trip up to Folsom and it was 10000% worth it - the office is very clean and updated (which I think is important), he also has a 3D machine which gives you a ballpark idea of what you were to look like depending on what size you choose, it's super helpful because I actually ended up picking a larger implant size vs the one I originally chose. Dr. M is definitely a perfectionist, he was never pushy and was always happy to answer all my questions. His PA, Jill, was also super sweet and really helpful when I was having trouble deciding which implant size to go with. On the day of my surgery, I was running a bit late due to traffic and the front desk assistant was so understanding, once I got there they set me up with the IV in a really comfortable room, and the nurses and the Anesthesiologist were great and keeping me calm!
