Busy place ... Sort of a farm shop on one side and cafe on the other, no complaints here but not spectacular either. Clearly very popular, seemed a little impersonal somehow. read more

Asda

ASDA in Harrogate is personally my favourite supermarket in Harrogate- it contains all the…read moregroceries you need at very reasonable prices ( I recommend the ASDA own brand English muffins, much nicer than the Kingsmill ones!). As well as this, it also has a pharmacy, a clothes section, photo centre, bakery, instore pizza maker, stationary and a well stocked CD/DVD section. The only real negative is that at sometimes it can get fairly busy, meaning the queues are very long, although they do usually control this well. Also, as the store is so big, you might find yourself nipping in for a loaf of bread, and coming out an hour later with a full trolley!

I parked when the store was shut and car park was empty in the evening while visiting the cinema and have been fined. Waitrose not interested even though I spend £100's a month in store. Everyone knows these parking companies are crooks, can't believe Waitrose has got rid of the attendants and got on board with this. Disgusted

Apaprently it also smells nice in the morning when Steve walks past on his way to work. By nice he means 'of bread and that'. Clean, well laid out, friendly and helpful staff, and when I can't work the label machine thing in the cake bit, someone is always on hand to rescue me discreetly without making me look retarded. My mum also said they are one of the only shops where you can buy roasted peanuts (not the DRY roasted ones you get in the pub). Apparently that's important.

Food shopping is just so much fun and it 's no different in Weeton's. This is farm shopping but in a plush surrounding. Quality assured here and that is a fact. If I say fact then it must be true. What I really love about this place is that it brings the best things about Yorkshire to one place. It's like a deli but on acid. They stock over 1000 different lines of Yorkshire's finest. I defy you to go in and not come out with a sticky toffee pudding or stunning ginger bread house. The bakery really is first class. Yet so is most of it. You'll find teas, wines, meat, vegetables, really smelly cheeses and stock cupboard essentials. The oils are out of this world too. You pay for it but some of the balsamic and dipping oils are just meant to be cracked open on those special occasions. How I can get excited about oil I don't know but in here anything is possible. Great staff and service too and a food shop that doesn't involve trolley-rage or z-list celebrities advertising. Great guns of Harrogate.
Tesco Express
Located towards the end of Cambridge Road in Harrogate town centre, next to Superdrug, this Tesco…read moreExpress convenience store has useful opening hours of 6 am - 11 pm and is a short walk away from Bettys. It has pretty much everything you'd expect from a Tesco Express, a decent range of essentials, a good food-to-go range including pre-packaged sandwiches and bottled drinks, and higher prices compared to regular Tesco stores. The layout of the store was fairly clean and easy to follow, which is a big plus as many Tesco Express stores can be really cluttered. I do prefer Sainsbury's down the road, as it is a more modern location, and they have a coffee machine, but this isn't a bad alternative for sure. 3*
