Overall food was 3.5 but atmosphere was a 4.5…read more Great choice for a lazy weekend! My first time at this place and I never knew there was a boutique grocery store up front! It's nice, kind of reminiscent of the Wheeton's in town (Harrogate). I really enjoy the strong theme of locally sourced high quality food that permeates this place. The employees seem happy which often results in better service, which was the case with my visit today. I like the large open feel of this place combined with the big open windows and the outside tables with umbrellas. The amount of light this place invites gives the cafe section a cheery feel to it. Fee wifi is a plus for yelping of course. I had a Sunday roast and it was a very generous portion. The food was well presented, and wait time was minimal. It was good food, but nothing extraordinary in my experience. But the atmosphere of the place more than compensates to make an overall enjoyable experience and a place I'm likely to revisit soon!

An excellent selection of fruit and veg - it it's in season Fodder will find it. Asparagus (May/June) comes from a farm just over a mile away. The same can be said for strawberries. Meat is from local farms and not only is the selection and quality very good, you can see the butchers in the back rooms cutting the meat up. Chuck in a great cheese counter, lots of local beer, cured meats, chocolates, sweets and puddings... It's a fine establishment. Doing a full weekly shop might not be possible but for a few choice bits and pieces Fodder is a lovely place to visit. Oh, and knowledgeable staff who aren't afraid to smile - that's always going set a place ahead of the competition!

Everything is high quality, so no matter if you are popping in for some quick fixings for lunch at home, or sitting down for coffee and a sandwich, you will not be disappointed with the delicious options to savor.

Food shopping is just so much fun and it 's no different in Weeton's. This is farm shopping but in a plush surrounding. Quality assured here and that is a fact. If I say fact then it must be true. What I really love about this place is that it brings the best things about Yorkshire to one place. It's like a deli but on acid. They stock over 1000 different lines of Yorkshire's finest. I defy you to go in and not come out with a sticky toffee pudding or stunning ginger bread house. The bakery really is first class. Yet so is most of it. You'll find teas, wines, meat, vegetables, really smelly cheeses and stock cupboard essentials. The oils are out of this world too. You pay for it but some of the balsamic and dipping oils are just meant to be cracked open on those special occasions. How I can get excited about oil I don't know but in here anything is possible. Great staff and service too and a food shop that doesn't involve trolley-rage or z-list celebrities advertising. Great guns of Harrogate.

She came to my aid with plasters after I had cut my hand and finger extricating a tin of beans and sausages from the bottom shelf, although I found her some time later in the "health and beauty" area. A couple of years ago there was huge expansion here to include a full pharmacy, a large clothes and home section and an extended Starbucks area and this is when the place started it's sad slide. In May this year on a Thursday before a bank holiday there was no broccolli, lettuce, spring onions, bananas or avocado. Yet there was more asaparagus than I have ever seen - a few hundred packs! I complained and was told that the shop has an auto-replenish system and because the place had been quiet not much had been ordered. This is very poor - no manual override for one of the biggest weekends of the year? Apparently not. It's mainly the fresh produce section which is so unpredictable and on many occasions the above fruit and veg and more have been out of stock - fresh herbs are also very random. Bread stocks are very unpredictable. They stopped selling pork fillet on the butcher's counter a few weeks ago. I've been buying my groceries from various Sainsburys for over 20 years and this is easily the most unreliable store I have been to, despite being the biggest I know. I believe firmly in customer loyalty but as I often have to make 2 shopping trips (filling up what on Sainsburys doesn't have in Morrisons down the road) so I have kept going back. Sadly those days are numbered as this supermarket is so consistently inefficient. You may be wondering why a 2 star review as opposed to 1. The reason is simple - the staff here are exceptional. Friendly, polite, helpful to the extent that I've got to know them very well. Dealing with them is always a pleasure as they are so genuinely pleasant. They are the thing I'll miss and what has made me go back for so long. If it's a comprehensive supermarket experience you want go to Asda in town or Morrisons a mile away.
