I recently had the opportunity to sit down with the team at Compassionate Minds Therapy in…read moreOmaha...Amber, Marti, Betsy, and Jude and walked away genuinely impressed. It's rare to find a counseling practice with this combination of warmth, professionalism, and staying power. We talked through the full range of mental health services they offer, from individual therapy and counseling to support for families and couples, and what stood out most was how thoughtfully they approach each client's needs. Their longevity in the industry speaks for itself, and their long-standing recognition as a Best of Omaha winner is well earned. That kind of consistent community trust doesn't happen by accident. If you're searching for a therapist or counselor in Omaha, this is a team that truly lives up to its name. I'll be confidently referring friends and family to Compassionate Minds Therapy.

THEY WILL TRY TO DOUBLE CHARGE YOU…read more They will have you pay at the time of service and charge your card again if it is on file months down the road. The past 4 times I've gone they have tried double charging me. I paid at the time of service and each time I came back they would say I didn't pay for the last session. I had to file for financial hardship because I couldn't pay double for one session without insurance. This is supposed to be a mental health place and it will cause you anxiety. In the last session, the psychiatrist asked why my blood pressure was so high (She takes blood pressure each session at the beginning.) Hmmm, I wonder why. The time before that she had to take me back to her office before I finished checking in because I was about to have a panic attack because I couldn't afford it. Keep your receipts if you risk going.

One time she canceled the morning of the appointment didn't send me a text and didn't have front desk call me. I sat on the telehealth zoom for thirty minutes past my appointment wondering when it would start I had to call the front desk, they very rudely said that they called me when they did not. The next problems I have is with Ms.Wayman. multiple times she has not filled my prescriptions on time. I went through withdrawals I called, texted, and sent a portal message and she still didn't refill on time. With the medications I'm on, this is very dangerous. She has done this the whole time I've seen her and I started seeing her in February. I have grown frustrated and angry with the whole establishment. I do not recommend going here. I will be canceling my future appointments.

They have acutely limited understanding, no good ideas and throw out so many inaccuracies and cliche phrases that don't apply to me, it was just a frustrating waste of money and my time. I felt more frustrated, depressed and hopeless every week and I gave each one an honest shot while not expecting miracles and being more than willing to make changes and put in the work. I've had incompatable therapists before but this was more like flat-out incompetence and it runs rampant at CCA.

Like any service, it's all about finding the right provider. I've seen two counselors at Great Oaks…read moreand a nurse practitioner over the past few years and had good experiences with all of them. Their providers all have bios on the website so you can try to discern who may be right for you. I originally went to Great Oaks to get an appointment with the psychologist but she books out about 4 months in advance so I ended up seeing the nurse practitioner (who met all my needs just fine). Maria at the front desk is friendly and professional. If you go to the office with any regularity she'll learn your name. Great Oaks is in the same building as Don Bacon's office at the moment. The building is currently undergoing renovations but most offices seem to be open. My main gripe is the quality of the bathrooms (super outdated and dirty looking stalls, toilets, sinks, and dryers) which I'm hoping will improve with the renovations.
