I have been going to this physical therapy location for over a month now and I can only say great things. All the PT's I have worked with have been exceptional-they are caring, polite, kind and very knowledgable. They always check-in to see how the therapy is going and what can be improved/changed and they are all very patient and willing to answer questions and help guide the session. The office staff as well is exceptional, from the PT aide's to the front desk support everyone is friendly and welcoming even when they are busy and the phones are ringing and multiple arrive for their session. The office is very clean and there is rarely a wait when I come for my scheduled appointment time, they are almost always on schedule. I have been to other physical therapy practices over the years and I found this one superior--also they accept many insurances which has made things much easier financially as well. They seem to treat a wide range of ailments--my situation dealing with contact and painful headaches was a bit unique but they have three therapists who are trained in headache management and I have had the opportunity to meet with all three of them on different dates. If I could give Focal Physical Therapy 10 stars I would!! I was recommended to FPT by a PT friend of mine because I needed a specialist in vestibuler PT to treat my vertigo. Upon calling I explained the urgency of my condition. Within moments I was called back & gratefully I was squeezed in to Neil Chernick's tight schedule. Neil was very thorough, taking comprehensive notes of my history etc... This was followed by a maneuver & some exercises. Soon after my first visit I felt relief. Neil continued to work on me, as well as providing me with exercises to do at home. Within just a few sessions my vertigo was gone. I've been to many PT facilities for several injuries including a neck surgery. I have never experienced at any other PT facility that in which the care I received from Neil at Focal PT. Neil followed up between appointments with emails checking in on my progress. His bedside manner, care & professionalism is bar none. I truly felt like I was his only patient. The facility is very clean, the front desk staff is caring, friendly & happy to find the time & appointment you need. I can't recommend FPT enough. I've been to several physical therapy offices. I've banged myself up pretty well. Access in Armonk has the most qualified and intense knowledgeable physical therapists. I had hip surgery that had 4 horrendously painful side effects. After the 2nd surgery, Kimberly took the best care of me. I felt like I was treated like a professional athlete that needed to get back in the game. Kimberly designed my rehab and fine tuned and adjusted it when I needed it. The atmosphere was great and I felt in very good hands and comfortable. I was able to work hard when I could and back down if I didn't. I always left like I did my best, all thanks to Kimberly. She has her PhD so she's ultra qualified also a triathlon sportsperson. Then I had a bone on bone shoulder replacement and Chris took the best care of me, just like when Kimberly did. Chris also has his PhD and knows everything. He's a super athlete in lacrosse. Chris custom designed my workouts and adjusted them as I progressed. I felt like every single workout was perfect for my level of pain and improvement. Every excerise worked to help me get better. With Kimberly and Chris, workouts were never easy, but they felt like exactly what the doctor ordered. In fact, both HSS surgeons highly recommended Access Physical Therapy.. My middle son just got a referral today for Access Armonk only for his back from another HSS surgeon. There is no better place to be treated in the best of hands. Neil manages Armonk perfectly. After my initial introduction/physical therapy session, I knew I was in the right place. The entire staff was so pleasant, knowledgeable and thorough about providing the best physical therapy for a client recuperating from lower back surgery. I attended Access for almost three months, at least twice a week, and appreciated every visit. I no longer have some of the pain, discomfort or soreness I experienced on day one. Neil Chernick is a true professional. His one on one physical therapy is handled in an efficient and personalized way and worth the 20 minute drive to get to his office. He is empathetic, focused, motivating and patient. He encourages questions and wants to be sure that you are clear on the treatment plan and that you are doing your home exercises correctly. Neil is a good listener and never presumes to know how you feel; for example whether you need ice or heat. When I have been unsure about getting a second opinion or having surgery I turn to him as a consultant. read more
