I've been flying with Harvey & Rihn for over10 years and have completed multiple biannual flight…read morereviews, along with many enjoyable flights. Over that time, I built a strong relationship with the school and truly valued the experience. However, over the past period, I began noticing a shift in the environment. I've recently experienced unprofessional behavior from staff, including an instructor, Frank Davis, who used inappropriate language and cursed at me during a ground session. Additionally, a new office manager became overly intrusive regarding my flight times, creating unnecessary friction. There were also administrative issues that raised serious concerns. When I returned from a recent flight, the staff member on duty did not close out my receipt and told me I would be contacted the next day to handle a $95 fuel reimbursement. As a result, I was never given a receipt by them. Instead of resolving it, the office manager later contacted me asking me to pay again. I provided proof of the original $469.80 charge posted to my credit card and even had a representative from my bank confirm the payment directly with them. Despite this, I was then told that without a receipt from them, they would not reimburse the fuel--even though they never provided that receipt and they had the fuel receipt showing I paid out of pocket. To be clear: they failed to provide documentation, then used that same missing documentation as the reason to deny reimbursement for a legitimate expense. At that point, it felt like an attempt to keep my $95 reimbursement, which is extremely concerning and, frankly, unacceptable. My most recent in-person interaction ultimately confirmed that things have changed. On this occasion, I departed later than planned and communicated that I would be returning later than my scheduled time. Before leaving, I confirmed with a staff member that someone would still be present when I returned, and I was assured they would. When I got back, the owner, Debbie, was on the phone and clearly upset that I had exceeded my scheduled time. I fully understand the importance of scheduling and take responsibility for the delay. However, when I apologized, I was told, "Pay the rental and get the hell out of here." At 51 years old, and after years as a loyal customer, I found this level of disrespect shocking and completely unacceptable. Mistakes happen, but professionalism and basic courtesy should never be compromised--especially with long-standing clients. It's truly disappointing to end a relationship with a place I once genuinely enjoyed. However, based on these repeated experiences, I've made the decision not to return. If you're considering flying here, I would strongly encourage you to carefully evaluate how customer interactions are handled. My recent experiences reflect a level of service that has become rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I cannot recommend any longer based on how this situation was handled

This is certainly a first class experience flight school. I visited tidal aviation for a discovery…read moreflight after being frustrated with my flight school in Spring, TX. Tidal aviation does everything to perfection. They have a luxury office, with conference rooms for briefings, and a beautiful lobby. The airport is set up with immaculate hangars and a nice boarding/valet space to enter your plane from. The CFI's had water bottles on board, and provided bose headphones for the flight. They fly brand new cirrus planes (I flew a cirrus SR20) with all the bells and whistles. Air conditioning on board kept me very comfortable, and I was able to read the instrument panel with ease. Excellent avionics. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I was very impressed by their state of the art tech, where they were able to show me 3-d models of my flying. This school was a pleasure to fly with and I highly recommend it for anyone looking into an upgraded flight experience

Horrible place to deal with. Did my discovery flight with…read morethem last year. It jumped up $75 at the last moment bc my plane was down and the only thing available was a SR-22, hence the price hike. After the flight debrief I left my bag there. Living so far I was not able to pick it up before I went overseas. When I come back the person I dealt with was fired and the current management literally said "we can't find it. We lost it. And there's nothing we can do about it." After a year of back and forth of with them to at least replace the bag that they lost/stole. Today I was told There would not be any compensation of any type, at all. And when I asked the managements email the receptionist claimed she had a meeting to go to and that she would send it later. How is this place responsible for things that fly? Now to find a new flight school with cirrus planes.

Actually, my recent BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) class was at one corner of the pool, while we got to watch 2 Astronauts train in 40 feet deep water below. If you look at a couple of the pictures, you can see them on the pool deck in the background. I was there because I had been asked to be part of an Audit team that might go offshore and this is one of the things that is required before I can do this.. During my most enjoyable 3 day class, I learned about TEMPSC (Totally Enclosed Motor Propelled Survival Craft) and other ways to escape off a ship, HUET (Helicopter Underwater Egress Training), and various other survival techniques including emergency first aid, fire fighting, and use of a gas mask in a dark and smokey building. The most challenging (and satisfying) aspect was being held upside down under water and having to escape to the surface. As such, 2 songs kept running through my head during this time: "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees and "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. The Class was presented by Hi-Con Training and the instructors were super and amazing to listen to and follow. And yes, I felt safe the entire time. My fellow classmates were pretty cool too, and the whole experience was a real eye opener to a world that I previously had no clue.
