Eric from Glide America is a superb instructor who priorities safety over really everything else. I…read morewasn't expecting to get one on one paramotor training but that's exactly what I received. The vast majority of the class is ground handling skills where Eric went over the necessary skills and techniques that are required to be able to get the wing in a controllable state. All the ground handling equipment - that being the harness and wing - were provided by Eric as part of training material. To say he was patient would be an understatement, he worked with me to ensure that not only could I control the wing but did it in a safe manner, even if it meant repeating the same things hundreds of times. How he doesn't go mad from repeating the same things over and over again I will never know. The last bit of training is flight training where I finally was able to get in the air. But the training didn't end. Eric went through a number of maneuvers I needed to know to fly safely as well as doing as many takeoff and landings as possible. By the end of my training I had 25 total take offs and landings complete. Two things stood out to me during and after training. First Eric records all the training (especially the flights) which allowed me to go over all my training days with Eric at a later time and point out areas where I needed improvement. Secondly during and even after training if I had any question regarding flying, gear, skills or just wanted to go over parts of the training videos Eric was always available and willing to help. I'm very satisfied with the training I received from Glide America and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking into getting into flying paramotors.

A morning of high flying action!…read more Where to begin?! So travelled down to Maricopa on a Groupon. Not really sure what to expect as you pull up to a small hanger near the local airfield. Started small talk with the other people waiting until our instructor Mo showed up. First thing out of his van was beautiful happy golden retriever named Rosa. She just helped set the mood for the rest of the morning. Mo was very friendly and informative. He was very quick with getting all the paperwork out of the way so we could get straight to the action. So easy to sign your life away on a waiver, right?! Continued out to the airstrip to watch Mo get all the equipment set as we sat around with intros and watching Rosa's energy. Quick set of safety instructions and the first person strapped in and was off the ground in minutes. Not that a dog should be the highlight of the flying experience, but Rosa was so excited to watch help set up and chase you down the airstrip. I would say she made the entire experience 30% better. Everyone walked away extremely elated with the experience. Mo was very professional and just a fun overall person to be around. We ended up tipping to basically make up the difference of the discounted Groupon. Well worth the full price of the ride. (You'll read in all my reviews that I big supporter of local businesses) Biggest tip...bring a warm jacket and gloves!
