We've used this company multiple times, but our recent experiences are reason enough for this review. A high water bill led to a water heater replacement, recommended by Fly Plumbing, but the next bill was just as high. When we called again, they came out and then said the real issue was a toilet leak. While traveling internationally, we experienced delays due to a faulty payment link sent by Stephanie - this was later used as a reason to require full payment upfront for the second visit. Despite being long-time customers, we were treated as if we were unreliable. When I spoke with a manager, he said only 50% upfront was required and promised to review the calls and follow up as to why we were told 100% had to be paid upfront, and why we were charged to replace a water heater when it was really the toilet. It's been over three weeks with no response. Sadly, we can no longer recommend this company. read more

I had a flood in my basement so I called the plumbers from fly plumbing to inspect it. They came and said that it was a blockage of the main sewer line and they needed to do some digging outside of my home to reinstall some pipes and gave me an estimate for about 4 thousand dollars on top of rotting out some debris with a machine for 650 dollars. So I paid them 650 to rot out the debris at least for a temporary fix until I could get the bigger job done only to see that now my basement was flooding everyday and even more. So I called them back to see why this is happening and they told me that It was because I needed to get the job done from the outside which was clogging everything and couldn't even run any more water from my home. Then I noticed something strange... every time a plumber came from fly, they connected my ejector pump in a way that it wouldn't work at all and was not pumping out even little water which was the primary reason for my basement flooding everyday for four consecutive day. When I confronted the plumbers about this, they flat out denied that they touched any ejector pump plugs when I clearly saw them unplugging and re-plugging the cords. I had another plumber come out and within minutes he was able to diagnose the problem and changed out the ejector pump and had zero flooding problem ever since. It is mind boggling to me that a company like fly plumbing has a license to operate a business and that they are still in operation. They are crooks that will go to great lengths to achieve their scam and they should lose their licenses and closed down immediately. read more

They had to come out twice to fix the problem, creating a new problem in the meantime by cracking the toilet when they went to bolt it back on. Because the toilet appeared to function outside of the crack at the bolting of the toilet back on, I thought the toilet was fixed. But, a year later the problem is back. Because I am just outside of the year warranty, they now want to charge me for an estimate and emergency service if someone were to come out. And, they cannot tell me how much the estimate would be, they are stating that to even give me an estimate to repair the problem, their estimate charge needs an estimate and is not fixed, the charge to create and estimate is a sliding scale. This is insane. I deeply regret having them service the plumbing. I deeply regret calling them in the first place. read more

We had been noticing slow drains for several different drains in our house. After trying home remedies to solve our problem, we decided to give Fly Plumbing a call after seeing the great reviews online and having recommendations from a few friends. Fly Plumbing was able to come out same day and rod our sewer from an outside point, the price was unbeatable. I called for options to other companies and they had the best price at Fly Plumbing, especially considering we got same day service. Adrian was funny, kind, and very informative. Got referred to Fly Plumbing by DRF Trusted Property Solutions (also reviewed). This was a horrible experience. I had a clogged basement floor drain a week after the polar vortex. Two years earlier, the drain was rodded and cleared of roots and sludge -- by a union plumber who was not available. First, we tried ABC unsuccessfully. Then we called DRF and Fly Plumbing came. Ali from Fly assessed, quoted and we were charged $550. Then Ali disappeared for an hour to get his equipment (apparently unprepared to do basic sewer rodding). Ali scoped, rodded just ONCE and scoped again. After Ali contacted Fly, it was recommended that pressurized water was needed to flush out sludge for an additional $700; plus possibly an additional charge ($$?) to use a larger cutter to get rid of roots. Ali didn't even know that he couldn't do the pressurized water unless the air temperature was above freezing. I feel that Fly took advantage of me. I will NEVER use or refer anyone to Fly Plumbing or DRF. Time and money wasted! PS. After this fiasco with Fly and DRF, I used a union plumber -- who just rodded and cleared the drain. I had a hot water tank explode in me on A Saturday. I have a home warranty plan that assigned a job to Fly Plumbing. I called Fly and spoke to answering service on Saturday and they said I'd have to wait until Monday. I called Fly Monday and Office said I was number 3 in que and dispatcher would call which she never did until I called several hours later. She then gives me a Tuesday time to come look at it. Finally they come look at it and they don't call it into the warranty company so we can get it fixed. They will wait another 48hrs when I'm in a crisis. We had an issue with a remodeled house we bought where the contractor who did the plumbing didn't finish. When I turned on the shower, water ran down the wall. I contacted our home home warranty for an emergency repair, and they sent Fly plumbing. Fly plumping contacted me immediately and kept me updated about arrival time until the tech arrived - within an hour. Upon arrival the tech was very patient and helpful and did a great job fixing the issue. Based on this experience alone, I recommend Fly plumbing and I plan to use them again when inevitably something else goes wrong. read more

Our building's booster pump died, and we contracted Fly Plumbing to replace it because they appeared cheaper than other options. Our initial issue was that the new pump was extremely noisy, as if it was broken. * They first came back, didn't do anything and said everything was normal, and intended to charge for that time. * We contracted other plumbers who, upon reading the manual of the pump, almost immediately found out it hadn't been properly primed and there was air in the pump. They followed the instructions to prime it, and most of the noise was gone. * The pump was still somewhat noisy even if less so, so we asked Fly to come back to try help mitigate this more manageable noise. They recommended installing noise-mitigation hardware (a pad and flex connectors), and left saying they'd order them. * Then for about 3 weeks we would ask updates and they would say they couldn't find the hardware, and were trying to call actual physical stores. * Eventually, we lost patience and we contracted another plumber, who called the pump manufacturer, thereby finding out that the noise came from our pump being undersized for our building (that's why it was cheaper...). He ordered the noise-mitigation hardware, and installed it that week. This whole process took 3 months, impacting nearby units, mostly at night, preventing people to sleep for 3 months. Three things we know now: * We don't anymore have a noise problem, so that's good. * This pump is not going to last very long, but for now it works. * I'm sure there are people at Fly Plumbing who are not at all incompetent; and I can be convinced that they did to the best of their ability with our case. But we'll save ourselves the odds, and we'll refrain from working with them in the future. read more

Had a shut-off valve under my kitchen sink that would not shut off. Home Warranty company sent over Fly Plumbing. The technician Tom was very helpful and courteous. He made quick work of replacing the broken valve (which I think he called an angle stop). This was greatly appreciated since I'm in a condo building and the water had to be shut off for the whole building in order to repair this small little thing. Tom was very polite and professional, and I appreciated his expertise in making quick work of this little project. The only reason I am giving them four stars instead of five is that I had a little problem with getting the appointment scheduled. The warranty company said they would have Fly Plumbing call me on Monday. When Wednesday came around and I still hadn't received a call, I called them. I was told they were backed up due to the unusually high heat and heavy rains (they do A/C work as well). I was told I'd be called back later Wednesday afternoon. Friday rolled around, and I still hadn't heard from their scheduler, so I called back. This time I was able to get an appointment scheduled. read more

This is not really a reflection of the company but more about one of there employees. Last week Friday one of there trucks came within 6 inches of hitting me suv. They had to merge into my lane and despite me using my horn to warn him that he was coming into my lane where I was he decided to continue coming into my lane and it sounds pushing me out of the way to avoid a collision. This was in route 41 northbound right by Park Avenue West. If their drivers are this bad I have the question? read more

This company is complete trash. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. On Friday morning, 5/17, I was told i would have a technician out for plumbing services on Saturday 5/18 during the window of 8am-10am. At 4:06pm i received a voicemail stating it was moved to 2-6pm Saturday. I tried returning the call and "conveniently" their office closed at 4pm. I decided i would call back at 10am Saturday morning to figure it all out. I call back at 10am when they open and talk with Eric who says i have a scheduled window from 12-4pm. He stated i would receive a call 30 min prior to technician arriving. 3:30pm rolls around and i have still not heard anything so i call back. Eric answers and says the technicians are on their last job prior to coming to my house. 4:20pm, i call back. Now the offices are closed again. How convenient for them. I get the "on call" person who doesn't even work for that company, and they tell me they cannot get in touch with the dispatch center. So i guess that means I'm SOL. Worst customer service experience I've ever dealt with. They don't give a S*** about their customers. read more

The boiler went out on 1/30/19 and our warranty company called FLY. Mind you they agreed to service the unit but they were too busy that they can't get to us until the following week. 1st, it was a nightmare trying to call them to make an appointment. Finally got an appt. for the following week. They called the night before the appt. stated they had an emergency and all their technicians will be assigned to the emergency job, can we reschedule to Friday between 8-noon. Friday @10am I called, 1st person had me on hold to check for 12mins (Never came back). Called back the second person stated the tech that was assigned to our home was out until 3am so he doesn't know if they can even get someone out. (Lost my mind at this moment) He asked if he can call back, only person that kept this word from this company. Asked if we can be home between 12pm-3pm?? I have the home warranty so they assign the fly to do a simple job which was kitchen sink leaking, its P trap was leaking actually. Calling the first time, made the appointment they were no show, call them back said sorry he got busy at the job we can reschedule it for tomorrow. The plumber showed changed the P trap and left, literally the day after I had the same issue, call home warranty company they told me to call the fly back again on recall service, so I did, made the scheduled appointment but no show, called back said sorry that plumber not available until next week. What about any other plumber? Yes we can do tomorrow, tomorrow came and gone no show called back said we can make the appointment for today, Ok let's do it for today. No Show. Called back on Monday, keep in mind now this is the 2nd week going with them, guy rudely promise "he will see to it that someone shows up today" no show again. I requested service through my warranty and let me tell you, take pictures of everything and videos before and after. I had them come fix a slow leak in a powder room sink, which as far as we were told only needed sealant on the bowl. Then the hoses on our shower system in our bath needed tightening. I asked if the plumber could tighten the t.p. holder, but said he didn't have the tool to tighten it. He said I should have it addressed before it comes out. Immediately after he left I went in to clean the floor and see the holder LITERALLY HANGING from the wall. I called him ASAP and he claimed "thats not how I left it, see I warned you it would happen!" We realized the shower system is still leaking ironically in a different place, a part is literally missing from the powder room sink and rather than a slow leak that we initially had, we have the Nile river flowing through. Not to mention, I'm missing a tool a had under my sink?! WTH?! I called to inform them of the issues but this is not a business I'll be calling back. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Oh, and the service tech also made a comment about my dog, " I wonder if anyone would notice if you went missing! Wonder if you fit in my bucket?" Wtf?! I said, " my dogs are microchipped!"
