You immediately fly over Old San Juan with amazing close up views of the castles and Goverment buildings. From there you head inland to the central mountains. Excellent views of steep cliffs, water falls, and country living for the locals. Next you head to the Arecibo Telescope. Excellent view of the now collapsed structure. From there, you head to the ocean. The final leg of the tour is a flight up the coast. Amazing views of the beach's and numerous coves and rugged shoreline. Also spot various marine life: turtles, manatee, rays, etc. We felt very safe during the tour. Our pilot, Ernie, was an army pilot in Iraq, Afghanistan, and South Korea. He also spent time as a pilot for oil rigs and medivac . There is nothing he hasn't experienced. He is also super nice. Highly recommend the tour.

We called Taxi Aéreo and they told us if we could take a taxi to them (10min) they could fly us to Culebra. We took the first taxi we could flag down and the staff at Taxi Aéreo were SO nice, SO helpful and they literally put us on a private charter plane IMMEDIATELY. Amazing experience all around. Small sleepy airport in a small sleepy town…read more The airport perfectly complements the island. It's laid back, simple, and plain. You have a parking lot, restrooms, a café, chairs, the airline booths, and a Carlos Jeep Rental booth. And of course the runway, which is properly paved and smooth. The airport is always clean inside and out. No need for baggage claim. When you get off the plane you are handed you bags right there. There is never traffic getting in and out, and rarely crowds. No pressure when loading and unloading your vehicle at curbside. It's stress free, as opposed to the stressful ferry situation. I'd rather pay more and fly. Easy in and out. Any stress such as delayed or cancelled flights are really airline issues for the most part. Airport is across the street from Jerry's Jeep Rental, Carlos Jeep Rental, and La Pista restaurant. Next door is Gmart, El Encanto Bakery, and Happy Landing.
