Tash tori is brilliant. Towns like Lewes so often have cutesy little shops to buy crafting items…read morewhich are overpriced, precious, and usually have one quite rude woman who just wants your cash/ you to leave. Tash tori isn't like any if those places. For a small shop it has almost everything a crafter might need in small amounts. If you ask any of the staff for suggestions about some weird project you're working on, from making a card, to colouring the face of a puppet, they'll come up with very helpful suggestions, and you can tell straight away that they aren't offering you the highest priced option for the sake of it. It's the best arts and crafts shop I've found outside of America, and certainly one of the best in the Sussex area.

They stock a few balls of wool, some coloured papers and cards, stickers, and so on. It doesn't appear to be terribly expensive, and they also hold some events/classes there; there was a poster in the window advertising an upcoming card making demonstration.

It always surprises me how much you can find in the art shop and stationers in Dulwich Village…read more I often pop in here on the assumption that they will not have what I am looking for and instead I will have to trek into Central London to a larger shop. Normally however, they bring out exactly what I asked for. This may just be luck but it works for me all the same. The shop is small and rather old fashioned selling a range of paper, stationary, paint, canvas' and art supplies. The same man has been working here for all the time that I have been going to the shop and is very well informed and helpful. Expect to pay slightly more than you would in larger art and stationary shops, but for the ease and practicality of shopping here, it is well worth the extra pound or two.

I don't knit but I am fascinated by the beautiful yarns in all textures & magical colours they have a large range as they seem to of most things. I can't possibly list everything, as it is a real treasure trove but there are ribbons - beads & jewelery making items - Felts - threads, needles & buttons - tapestry & embroidery supplies - Mosaic - card & paper - polystyrene shapes - paints - kits - things I don't even know what they are !! I have never left this shop without finding something that I needed and they go to endless trouble to help. We also sell a lovely range of unusual Gift items, Greetings Cards and Gift wrapping. They are closed Wednesdays & Sundays. There is free but limited parking right outside but if you want longer there is a free car park just round the corner.

They also stock beads, strings & paper. The staff is knowledgeable & helpful (I was given the low down on the quality of the watercolor pigments I wanted to buy). It was also bristling with brushes.
