Filthy inside and bad condition outside wrecked and dirty. Driver constantly coughed. I ask her what's going on and her reply was she got it from her mother. She thought maybe asthma...I told her that is very serious and she's not taking one thing about it! That's not good for her or fair to the customers! Driver Josh: EXTREMELY unprofessional. Did not want to give me a ride to work this morning. I called 1 day prior to set up a pick up at 5am. Have to be at work at 5:30. I was told to wait outside at 5, and someone will pick me up, didn't take my phone number or name. Never was told a price, was told they Accept Cash or Card(weird). Next day comes and I'm outside waiting at 4:50am. I called to verify that i have a driver this morning to be sure. They said one is 5 mins out. Coincidentally my original driver picked me up at 5:02(Josh). I entered the Van in Good spirits saying "Good Morning" nothing back.. he then parks the van and told me they only accept Cash app or cash. I'm like they told me y'all accept card. I do not Have Cash app. He still doesn't pull off and it's 5:12am now. I'm like i gotta be at work by 5:30! If we need to stop and get cash let's do that, i found it suspicious for him to say just cash app or cash. We proceed to the store, upon exiting the neighborhood the 2nd Taxi pulls in. They saw each other and Josh stops the Van!! And calls her saying "Do you wanna take him?" "I Had to wake up at 4am for this shit". I'm like hey man i gotta get to work. He's huffing and puffing with an obvious attitude. We proceed to the store while he's still on the phone with the other driver complaining while I'm in the back seat. We get the store, he still doesn't tell me the price. Not thinking it'll be much i pulled a comfortable amount of money out. I walk back to the van and they're smokin cigarettes in the van in front of me! I do not like cigarettes nor behind around them! Highly unprofessional. Josh had a clear attitude and was getting smart with me complaining. I asked how much is it. He says $60!! I'm like $60 for 17 miles?? That's ridiculous. He then says "Well get out my car" called the other taxi driver and began to complain and talking bad about me in front of me AGAIN! Not knowing i can hear her. She says "Well I'll take him for less" I said "Ok cool, if she'll do it for less I'll ride with her instead you and this attitude". He then puts her on speaker and says "He heard you" she then takes back what she said and said she was "just playing" Josh began threatening my job, telling me I'm gonna get fired! cussing at me and disrespecting me, i retaliated cause i take no disrespect. If you do not want to do your job you should've never signed up for it. Josh needs to be let go. Extremely Unprofessional. He refuse to give me my receipt if i didn't hand him cash in Hand FIRST. This taxi service is rude. They had me waiting for more than 45 minutes and every time I called to ask when they were going to come, they answered "Whenever I get there!" and hung up just like that. In the end, they didn't even come. It was just terrible. I was left stranded and had to walk to my destination in this hot weather. Furthermore, their prices are way higher than other taxi services. I'm not from here so it made it even harder to navigate the town. I recommend Seven Hills Taxi Service, their prices are much lower and reasonable, the taxi drivers are polite and great, and they respect your time. read more

My first cab ride experience with them wasn't what I expected it be. I reserved a cab for 6:30pm and the driver arrived 30-40 minutes late so I didn't get to my destination on time. The only good thing about it was it fairly cheap and they charged about 2.00 a mile. FYI they renamed it Floyd Taxi. read more

This is the only taxi service in Rome my family uses. They are always on time, offer scheduled pickups, and the drivers are always courteous and some are very helpful and have helped me carry in a large load of groceries. It's also the only taxi service I'm aware of that requires the drivers to provide a complete criminal and motor vehicle background check during the hiring process. Floyd Taxi has a great group of ladies that drive during the day. I trust them to pick up my teenage daughters and get them to and from work, soccer and band practice, or just when they need a ride to or home from the mall when I am unavailable. Some of the taxis might be a little older and not as cosmetically appealing as some of the newer ones but they are always very clean and smell nice. We tried two other local taxi services once when Floyd taxi was backed up and we were in a hurry. We have learned our lesson. One of the other local taxis had roaches crawling across the dash board and in and out of the air vents, and the other local taxi driver for a different company we discovered is a registered sex offender. Floyd taxis rates are fairly reasonable. $2 a mile and they offer flat rates for out of town trips. Which is great if you cannot find a ride to the airport. Also, they are open 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Truly a blessing as the city buses only run during the week. read more
