Since we didn't book through a booking site we are unable to leave a review on TripAdvisor, Expedia, etc. I cannot understand the bad reviews. First the price...$130 for a suite? And they were beautiful...and spotless! Maybe that's expensive for Mexico City...but coming from the U.S. we couldn't have been more pleased. We were there for 7 nights. For a couple of nights our group had the whole hotel (we were in Mexico City for a wedding). We saw many of the different room configurations. While some of the bathrooms were laid out in a rather odd way, we didn't see any totally w/o a door! Some had frosted glass doors. We couldn't find a thing to complain about! The bar area was beautiful, drinks were cheap (again compared to the U.S.). The bar closes at 10, but we spent many evenings there with our own wine. Great congregating space. Breakfast was plentiful; three hot dishes, tons of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cold meats and cheeses, bread for toast with spreads, cookies, juice, regular coffee as well as a Nespresso machine. The staff was super pleasant and accommodating. You needed a different room...they gave you a different room. You needed more towels, you got more towels. Yes, sometimes things would be neglected in the room but they were quick to make it right if you let them know. The neighborhood is beautiful and felt very safe, perfect for walking. Lots of good restaurants (Temporal...just go there!). Grocery store around the corner. The only cons...it is hard to recognize from the street and the beautiful open concept atrium lets noise from anywhere in the common areas of the hotel travel easily. Travel with some earplugs! I would not hesitate to stay there again and would recommend it to anyone I know (except those with small children because the stairs could be dangerous for them...but the website so no one under 16)! read more
