It's a bummer to write this review, but this nursery has really declined over the past ten years…read more I used Stonewall Nursery extensively when I landscaped the grounds of my first house back in 2003. Though the prices were higher than most of the nurseries in the Madison area, this nursery carried a lot of unique trees and shrubs and the quality of their stock was second to none. In addition, the grounds were in immaculate condition with some breathtaking examples of shade gardens that were truly inspirational. Fast forward to the current day and things have slipped badly. The current variety of trees and shrubs is not what it used to be. I can find many of those same items closer to Madison at a lower price and in better condition. The display area is not well-maintained (lots of weeds) and is poorly organized. The bright spot is the staff. They remain friendly and knowledgeable. I used to look forward to my spring visits to Stonewall, but now, I really do not have a need to visit anymore.
