I placed the order online, scheduled pick up, and moved on with my life. Unfortunately, I received an email about 5 days before I was due to pick up the arrangement essentially advising that my selection was no longer available because the flowers wouldn't be in season the month of December. Huh? They explained that they would do their best but I asked for a refund instead. Apparently there was a website issue that allowed the purchase to go through but shouldn't have. Disappointed and frustrated, I placed a last minute birthday order with a large corporation and tried to put the matter behind me. Well color me surprised when the Flowers & Fancies team sent me an arrangement to apologize for the error. I was shocked, surprised, and necessarily reminded that mistakes happen and it's best to have patience and understanding, especially for local, well meaning businesses. I had a very vague concept of what I was looking for when we initially met for a consultation and asked her to take creative freedom with my only requests being "sunflowers and a general fall vibe". Her work has a very organic feel to it, and it absolutely blew me away. My guests are still talking about how incredible my bouquet was!! She had all kinds of ideas that hadn't even crossed my mind like building an arch from branches, and putting fall garland on tables to enhance the scenery of our wedding venue. She was even able to locally source organic flowers for our wedding which made us so happy! Everything was perfect in every way. So,…read moreordering flowers, holiday arrangements, plants, homecoming flowers, wedding flowers and or funerals is a routine thing. However, I chose Bel Air Florist for the first and last time last Wednesday. Crystal, the manager was confrontational from the beginning of our conversation when I called to discuss the embarrassment over the plant she delivered to a local funeral home. She actually not only took zero responsibility for the "ugly unacceptable plant" they delivered but blamed the condition of the plant on the funeral home. After speaking to the owner, they were willing to give me back $20.00 of the $80 plus dollars spent. Their offer was shameful, their customer service shameful and blaming their issue on another party, shameful. In addition, the price quoted on the phone was not even an option on their very own website. Crystal tried to provide me an answer for that by saying, "the verbal price quoted was for what she had in stock." When I said, "if that's all you had in stock then should I not have been able to see that price somewhere online", to which she had no reply. Buyer beware there are other florists in Harford County that do not employ rude people like Crystal and that stand behind their product instead of blaming others. I have reached out to the funeral home letting them know Crystal blamed them for the condition of the plant and that she took no responsibility whatsoever.

Petals 'n Posies has an $8 delivery fee, which is totally reasonable - especially for a large funeral arrangement. Our price point was high (around $200) and they sent a gorgeous arrangement that went to the funeral home, to the church, and finally, the graveside service. They did a wonderful job, and I would definitely recommend for any/all needs in the area.
