One of my best friends was having a really rough day and I wanted to cheer her up at work, so I decided to send her some flowers. After a bit of research, I found Flower Power Studio near my BFF's office. Initially, I was placing my order online, but decided to call and see if I could actually get the order out same day. It was late afternoon around 3:30 pm when I called and spoke with Rebecca. She was so sweet and accommodating. She also confirmed that I could just place my order with her on the phone and get it out that day before my BFF's office closed. (She only had about a 1.5 hr window.) She assured me that she'd get the order done and would even text me a picture of the arrangement prior to delivery to ensure that I knew what my BFF would be receiving. About an hour later, my BFF blows up my phone with a million texts asking me if I sent her flowers (I left my name off the card.) and jokingly I told her no. She said she just started crying because she was so happy and also the flowers were gorgeous. It definitely helped brighten her day a bit. Small gestures go a long way for me and even more so when people go out of their way. Rebecca was amazing! The definition of crazy is "try to get flowers delivered a few days before Valentines Day". Seriously. Look it up. Don't even dream about roses. Oh, you can get flowers delivered but most shops will charge double because of the holiday and because they can, and they will also jack up the delivery fee. And, forget roses 'cause those are for their regs. So, forgive me for being hugely impressed with Flower Power Studio for doing none of that when I explained my out-of-town-dear-friend-fresh-out-of-surgery situation. This is a professional operation and they know two things that I can vouch for: beautiful floral arrangements AND magnificent customer service. Indeed they went above and beyond in both areas, making sure that the flowers were delivered (a process that took multiple texts back and forth) and also designing an arrangement WITH gorgeous, huge, roses purloined especially for my friend from their already stretched to the max V-Day rose stash. (I was ready to accept whatever flowers they could manage.) They sent a photo from my friend's front door. I know that sometimes business owners read the competition's Yelp reviews to see what people like and don't like. So, flower people...do this. I reached out to Rebecca a bit last minute in the hopes of getting flowers delivered to a friend. Calling from Florida, I suppose I had low standards of this working out. She immediately answered and after I explained my situation, knew exactly what I needed (I didn't even know what I needed.) We worked out a card, who the recipient was and how to get it to the hotel down the road. I also asked her to incorporate Sunflowers, which she did with ease! She asked for a picture of my wedding dress, and actually matched the lace of my dress to the lace of the bouquet! I reached out to Rebecca through email asking for a wedding consultation on either a Thursday or Friday. She replied that she was available either day at 2PM. I chose the Thursday. Well Thursday comes around and I visit the shop only to find it closed! I called the shop phone and left a message asking her to call me back. Surely there was a miscommunication about our appointment or there was some type of emergency which led her to close the shop. Well it's been one week and I haven't received a single call or email. The bunch included long stem red roses mixed with eucalyptus stems, little white flowers, these beautiful pinkish red flowers that hung down ever so dainty, and then small wooden twig branches that intertwined and made the bouquet look so voluminous. She was fantastic. I don't know anything about flowers and arrangements. She made suggestions, showed me the flowers and greenery that she would use and walked me through the process. I told her that I wanted it delivered to my wife's office between 10 and 11 am the next morning. The following morning, Rebecca e-mailed a photo of the finished arrangement to me. It was beautiful. I had the misfortune of getting stranded in NYC on my wedding anniversary this past week. I was going to be a day late getting back to Southern California! Yikes! My amazing wife is someone who really appreciates flowers as I have been doing it for years and she always enjoys them. Unfortunately, since moving to Westlake Village a few years ago I have had terrible luck with sending flowers to anyone in the area. Either I used one of the big name websites and found the flowers to be of poor quality for ridiculous amounts of money, or I found the florists not to be interested in small jobs only big events. Needless to say, buying flowers for people in this area has been a challenge. So I called around to a few places and found a very nice woman who ONLY did events and shared a ton of sympathy with me around that fact that there simply were no great options in the area. She then told me of Flower Power Studio who she had recommended before but was completely unsure of the quality. To my surprise, Flower Power Studio was awesome. I spoke with the Rebecca who was just the nicest person. She totally understood my situation and was eager to help. She went WAY beyond what I had asked her to (in a great way!!!!). She found an awesome vase for the large number of roses that I wanted to send my wife. She emailed me pictures, she checked in with me to make sure all was perfect.....she even confirmed with my wife that she was home (or close to home) as she was delivering the arrangements. Rebecca saved the day! I needed a last minute, same day chocolate and bouquet delivery on a Saturday and after countless disappointing phone calls with other flower shops, Rebecca was a dream come true! Her flower arrangement was absolutely stunning and she personally selected chocolates from a chocolatier near her shop, which was fantastic! Most of the other shops I called did not offer chocolate and the few that did only offered little Ghirardelli squares, which are tasty but not really right for a special, elegant gift. Well this is a real flower shop, not just a service. It's the kind portrayed in movies and romantic comedies. A woman in an apron surrounded by beautiful flowers who knows just what your looking for. I called around 1 in the afternoon, was sending flowers to a friends father in the hospital, I had glanced at the gallery long enough to know they had a nice selection but it was not until I was on the phone and had been assured they'd be able to deliver before 5pm that I started to choose a bouquet. I wasn't really sure which direction to take. She listened to me describe specific details I liked in 2 arrangements pictured but I let her know I was open to input and adjustments just had somethings I wanted for sure...that the vase either be circular, or very low...and to keep it natural with large green leaves but with cream mixed in to make it feel more elegant. She walked through her shop describing various directions we could take, called the hospital to ensure the patient was able to receive the flowers (some patients can't depending on their specific condition), sent me photos of the arrangement, and had them sitting bedside before 3! Rebecca is amazing!!! She opened up a whole new love of flowers for me. I had her do my wedding and honestly, I was a little apprehensive about hiring a florist. I thought I could do it myself somehow and Im soooo glad I found her! I could have never!!! I walked into her shop and started talking to her and she had all these amazing ideas and showed me all these wild flowers Ive never even heard of and they were sooo pretty!! I ended up having her do my centerpieces, head wreaths, alter, bouquets, boutineers and cake toppings and it was sooo worth it!! She's very reasonably priced. Looking back on all my pictures, the flowers really made this whole thing come together!
