My friend was in the hospital, so my friends and I wanted to send her some flowers to know that we were thinking of her. I was a little nervous to order flowers online, since 1) I can't see them for myself and 2) I never ordered from here before. However, I decided to take a chance when I saw the reviews and knew it had to be better than 1-800-flowers. I'm glad I did take the chance. Pros: The flowers used were all fresh and looked great for our wedding. Cons: 1) priced average for long island but what you get isn't what you have on the contract. 2) Arrogance!!! examples include: -Since Mike deals with flowers he feels that he has creative authority over all requests, and refuses to listen to any thoughts outside of what he likes. You just keep hearing "well I don't think it will look nice" -We gave them a picture of the bouquet even before the contract was signed so he knew full well what my wife had asked for (including which flowers will be needed) and all we heard was sure we can do that, till it was time for the wedding and it looked nothing like the picture. When you ask them about it they say it looks just like it. And they refuse to change the look because again he believes it wont look nice. -My wife wanted fabric from her mothers wedding dress wrapped around the stems of the bouquet. They said sure no problem, however when the florist dropped off the bouquet on wedding day, the dress fabric was completely hidden. When asked to fix, the response received was "I think it looks nice this way, I'm not a talor." 3) They forgot to provide flowers for our runner for our ceremony. 4) They forgot to decorate our wedding cake. 5) center pieces were average despite trial run. Again just doesn't listen to what you want. This place may be good for everyday run of the mill bouquets for mothers day or a birthdays that you can get from ftd.com but if you want anything slightly different (like flowers for a wedding) do not book here. read more

Very Disappointed! I needed 2 funeral pieces prepared for a 1 day wake at a local funeral home. They recommended 4 florists and I decided to go with the local florist, Flower Barn. I read the great reviews and was happy with their choices and pricing. I placed my online order and wrote my card messages and special instructions in the designated area. I specified that I wanted a Beloved Godson ribbon and a Beloved Cousin ribbon on the pieces. I even sent them an email, in their Contact Us area, specifying the "Beloved" ribbons since they were that important to me. I was quite upset and disappointed when I arrived at the wake to find that my 2 pieces were the only ones that did not have a "Beloved" ribbon attached at all! And to add to the situation, the Tranquil Tears piece I did order looked nothing like the wispy, unique piece I chose. Luckily, the card messages I submitted were correctly done. I called the next day and voiced my displeasure and they were apologetic. *****Make sure you call and speak to someone personally when placing an order.******* read more

We used The Flower Barn for our 9/8/18 wedding and Scott and his team exceeded our expectations in every way! At our initial meeting, Scott was very helpful in laying out a plan that accommodated all our "wants" while staying within our budget. He is not pushy at all, and although we were ready to ready to put down a deposit that day...he wouldn't let us! He insisted on putting together a sample centerpiece to ensure we'd be happy with his work before taking a cent. When we came back to view the sample, we fell in love. It was exactly what we envisioned. In the weeks before our wedding and on our big day, The Flower Barn was a dream to work with. They communicated directly with our venue to coordinate set up and arrived at our hotel on time to deliver the bouquets and boutonnieres. They handled all of the details. Previously I wrote of disappointment with Flower Barn I would like to correct that after finding out more details. Yes, there was a problem in that I did not get what I ordered but it appears that the problem was not with Flower Barn but with the online service that does not provide contact information to the vender so that they can contact the customer when there is a problem. Flower Barn did the best they could do with a last minute order with the flowers on hand and actually incorporated some more expensive flowers. I switched to Flower Barn awhile ago because they do good work and were reliable. They did a wonderful job on my wife's funeral pieces 2 years ago. I should have realized that the fault was not theirs. read more

I ordered flowers for the funeral of the father of a close friend from here and I am not exaggerating when I say that they were the worst ones there by far. They looked so cheap even though I spent not an insignificant amount. I had spent the same amount of money for flowers from different florist at other funerals before without a problem. The flowers from the Flower Barn looked like flowers from stop and shop. I will never order flowers from here again. I was embarrassed by them. I feel like I wasted my money and it would have been better to send no flowers than these flowers. read more

We just had our wedding within the last 2 weeks and used Flowerbarn in Seaford for all our floral needs. This was after hearing great reviews from at least 3-4 other people who used them in the past for their arrangements. But I've also heard that they can be very expensive as well. I can honestly say they didn't do anything special for us. They also didn't do anything terrible, but for the money we're spending they should make you feel like they're going out of their way for you. Contractually - they did their job - they provided flowers, but that's it. But they didn't do anything for us that makes us want to recommend them or use them in the future. The flowers looked ok, but one was the wrong color and one was missing entirely. My bride's flowers were supposed to be white but had a very noticeable yellow tinge to them. Thankfully the photographer's flash made them appear whiter in pictures but all day long that was the one thing she kept saying to me - how disappointed she was in the color. They did however wrap her father's handkerchief around it in a very visible way which we did request as he passed away several years ago, so this was the way to keep him with us through the day. We also went back a week before the wedding and asked them to add one rose, a single rose to give to my mother during the ceremony. We'd already dropped a couple thousand dollars there for the wedding - you'd think they'd say no problem, we'll throw that in. Nope, charged me $7 for the one flower. Really??? Last, I went to them at the last minute to ask them to send a bouquet to my bride's house the morning of the wedding. Asked how much I wanted to spend, so I gave $40. I was surprised by what I saw that actually showed up at her house. I've purchased better looking flowers from Waldbaums for $10-15. I'm sure other people have had great experiences, but this was mine. I'm just guessing but if I was a business owner I would look at a wedding as an opportunity for my business to show what they can do best and build a relationship, especially when we're starting our married lives in the neighborhood. Could have made lifelong customers out of us as well as received countless recommendations. read more

It is so comforting when I walk into their gorgeous flower shop and I'm greeted like I'm family. I have several homes and they make the most elegant arrangements than the other shops I have been a customer of. I have recommended these guys to tons of friends & family. I don't even need to tell them what I need any more. I leave it up to them and am always pleased. Last year when my daughter got married they went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect. Whatever my daughter wanted Murray & Mike made sure to please.
