Mauro responded and came out quickly to assess my situation. He was thorough in explaining the situation and had a very calm way of making many quirky issues seem acheivable. Within a week his team had taken care of everything seamlessly and at a great price. Over the years I've continued to use and enthusiastically recommend Mauro for many projects. Everyone on his team is knowledgeable, careful and really cares about doing excellent work. Amy, who answers the phone is amazing - she has the same magical and calm vibe that Mauro does, she always understands my latest problem and reassures me that whatever it is that is going wrong, it is not going to be a big deal and of course she is always right. Beyond the great work and wonderful attitude, Mauro's prices are always fair and there is never any pressure Of all the venders and trades people I have used over the last few years, and with a 100 year old house, believe me there are many, Mauro and his team have been the most reliable, consistent and the best experience of all.

I wanted a second opinion so I contacted Honrath & Stacey. They sent Joey and an assistant, and he said they could make the repairs using parts in the van. Total cost was 1/4 the repair cost quoted by the first guys and it took a little over an hour. H&S charges $189 for the visit, minimum. The first place charged $89. Draw your own conclusions, but I think $89 is a loss-leader price not reflective of actual costs. You get what you pay for

He was notified that we would need verification for our insurance policies and he said "No Worries. Will Do." After installation, he sent over an invoice and we noticed there was no plumber license number. Our home insurance is now asking us to get another plumber to verify Derek's work. I am always looking for good plumbers since I manage properties, so I will call them again! I also want to support local family owned businesses rather than corporate franchises or big businesses. Out of all the 5 star plumbers I called, this was the most reasonable as I recognized the ones that try to gouge me as I have lots of experience in repairing. I already knew what the problem was bc I dealt with this in the past. Another company tried to give an estimate of 1900. and upcharge making a small issue into a bigger project ( see my reviews). And that one had all 5 star reviews. This one did it for $ 385. So a BIG difference and reasonable and more honest. So I like to recognize hard working companies that are more honest and reasonable in charges. Call this plumber. Only thing they need to work on is timing- coming on time which is important and a pet peeve of mine, but I let it slide this time for a job well done overall and realizing he came from Richmond which was a bit far.
