UNPROFESSIONAL RESPONSE FROM PLACE. ANOTHER REASON TO AVOID THIS COMPANY!!
    Guadalupe G.

Came here for a consultation. Had the appointment at 9am and didn't see the dentist until 9:35am. Dentist came in, talked to me for five minutes. Didn't even put a glove on and did an exam. He went off the x-rays. Automatically told me he recommends veneers. Then the financing lady Jen came in and told me it would cost me $25,000! Thats insane! She said they aren't the cheapest or expensive place that does them. They act like their office is way better than anyone else and like their dentist is the best out there out of all the dentists. I definitely won't be back! UPDATE: been a while since my appointment and this is the response I got. NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL in my opinion. Another reason to avoid this place. Just because someone left them a bad review they attack that person. Not a professional place would do this.

First off, check out their Better Business Bureau profile. It's rated an F. Then ask yourself, should you trust an F rated business with your teeth/mouth? Back to one star. The responses from the team continue to be unprofessional. Facts: No one replied after I texted on 2/5 that I needed to reschedule due to a serious family medical emergency. I thought that was strange. No reply. Instead of being supportive or understanding what I received was radio silence. I called again about a week later on 2/15 and no answer. No text message reply either. I called again a month later on 3/16 during business hours and no response. What was I to believe? In addition, I previously texted asking about my claim on 1/11 and that text was ignored. I waited and provided ample opportunity before posting anything on yelp. Instead of helping me you "fired" me. Im a patient not an employee. Feel free to contact me if you are going through something similar.

I am truly sad to be leaving as a patient. Dr Kiyan has always been so amazing and kind. He really has changed my life for the better. I consider him a dental genius. Unfortunately his new employee Jen has ruined my experience. She doesn't feel like I am good enough to be his patient. I think it's because she keeps trying to sell me things I don't need. Now she has some type of resentment towards me because I've kindly declined. On a Tuesday I called to reschedule an appointment. On Wednesday I don't hear back. I waited until Friday to text that I was disappointed and I felt ignored as a patient. Finally, after waiting a week, I get a call back from Jen. As soon as I say "hello" I can tell she's pissed off. She very rudely asked what I wanted. I told her I had been waiting for a week to get a call back. She said "we I'm calling now. What do you want?". I told her I was shocked by her tone. I've worked in the medical field for a long time and I've never experienced this. Her response was "well if you don't like it you can apply as front desk.." I was extremely surprised by her attitude. She also said "I won't apologize for not calling because I'm not sorry", & "it's a free country you can go somewhere else". I had been a patient here for over 5 years so I know this is NOT the standard care they offer. I asked multiple times to speak to Dr Kiyan. She wouldn't even give me his email! " How is it possible for the patient not to be able to contact the Doctor?! This woman has no idea how to speak to people. She is beyond condescending and she will with out a doubt loose Dr Kiyan lots of business. Dr. Kiyan if you are reading this, please feel free to contact me. I know you've worked extremely hard to get where you are and I believe you would want your patients to have a good experience. Unfortunately I feel like this is my only way of reaching you.

I've been coming here for about 2 years, and Dr. Kiyan has been amazing! I was pregnant and about to deliver any day when I really needed a root canal. He moved everything around to do what he could to get me in, and I could not be more thankful! I was able to recover from giving birth without having to worry about my teeth or any pain/discomfort. Scheduling is always so easy, and they always work with me to get me an appointment ASAP. A MAJOR plus is they are covid cautious and require masks! He has also been amazing about not pressuring me into unnecessary dental treatments during cleanings. He gives me the best tips to prevent cavities for next visits as my teeth are prone to them. Best dentist I have been to yet. Thanks for everything!

Floss definitely knows how to make you feel at home. Amazing team and Dr.Kiyan is phenomenal. I was 100% comfortable after him explaining each step and what to expect. The technology used is top notch! I just fell in love with myself all over again. Thank you. Btw, I got a gum lift, gum lightening, teeth whitening, and 10 Porcelain Veneers.

This is how Floss treats their customers!

I'll let you read the email I received after complaining about "extra" charges, decide for yourself if this is the kind of place you want to trust. I never write reviews, but this seemed warranted and hopefully helps others.

Some might say, "it's a vibe" Those that talk like that would be correct but it's a bit more than just a vibe. There no condescending attitude or dental hygiene shaming that happens in most dental offices. Everyone here is professional, positive and friendly. Most importantly, when they are hands on, they are very gentle. I've had a lot of dental work done here, from crowns to veneers to my quarterly cleanings and I've always been extremely happy with my experience. In all honesty, I don't even remember who I was before I started coming to floss but I'm certainly happy with who I am!

I have been coming here for 3 years and I absolutely love it. My teeth are always super clean and they're on top of keeping my teeth healthy and white. I suggest their annual treatment plan it's such a good deal. Thanks for always giving me the best care floss

This practice is absolutely professional from the time you come in to the time you leave. Dr Kiyan definitely knows how to select his staff wisely and it shows from my visitation(s). Initially, my brother was the only one who was doing the procedure for his veneer but after a few days there, I decided to get teeth whitening as well. Hopefully I can make some time to go back just to experience it all over again. Jennifer brings so much light to the office by being thorough and communicating with me. Mary ( I think that's her name ) that did the whitening procedure for me IS THE SWEETEST and so professional. Mary was constantly checking up on me every few minutes to make sure there was no discomfort and I appreciate that because I hate the dentist! After I was done, Dr.Kiyan came in to make sure I was happy and satisfied before letting me go ( which he didn't need to ). That just shows so much patient care. Thank you to the whole Floss Team

I contacted Floss after following their work for many months on Instagram. From photos alone you can see there is a significant difference between Dr. Kiyan's work and other dentist. After admiring their work from afar I contacted them and was offered a virtual consultation. The process to get in the chair was quick and easy. I had never been confident with my smile and I was determined to only visit someone who would care as much as I do about my teeth. I had 12 veneers placed and I can now smile with confidence! There is so much more to say but a picture is worth a thousand words so I'll post my before and after. Thanks Dr. Kiyan, and staff!

I've had a gummy smile my whole life and never knew there was a way to fix it. Until I was informed of a lip reposition surgery by my dentist, and I decided I needed to find someone I could trust. After doing research I found Dr. Mehdizadeh and set up a free consultation. He made me feel so comfortable as well as the before and after pictures on Instagram. This was a big decision, but I'm so happy with the results. 100% recommend getting this procedure. It's a life changer.

My experience started good but ended bad: I first went to floss around November 2020 to have a discolored tooth internally bleached. I had a great experience there, everyone is very nice and treats you very well. Dr. Kian was great in making sure I was happy with the results of the bleaching of the tooth. After that tooth was done I had a cleaning done at their office and the hygienist had some concerns about old fillings in 4 of my molars. Dr. Kian took a look and suggested that the fillings be redone with ceramic. I agreed and went through with having ceramic fillings put into the 4 teeth. Dr Kian did the drilling of my teeth but had someone else place and bond the fillings to my teeth. It's easily a two person job to place and bond these filling but he left one guy to do it. While placing one of the ceramic fillings I started to gain feeling in the tooth. I was in excruciating pain as the tooth was no longer numb and I could feel everything. I stopped him twice and told him how painful it was but he told me it would be over soon and kept working. After having the ceramic fillings put in I started experiencing pain in the teeth while chewing and extreme sensitivity to cold, that I had never experienced before coming to Floss. I couldn't even chew an apple without pain. I expressed this to Dr. Kian and he thought the bite alignment was off so we tried to correct the bite alignment a few times, but that did not help with the pain or cold sensitivity. So finally we decided to remove the fillings in 3 of the 4 teeth and put new ones in again himself. They didn't charge me to re-do the ceramic fillings, which I greatly appreciated. The pain subsided in the 3 teeth after being re-done but they are still more sensitive to cold than they used to be. After having the 3 teeth redone I noticed that the 4th tooth was also experiencing pain while chewing. I only ate very soft foods for months while trying to figure this out and have it fixed so I didn't realize that the 4th tooth was also affected until I started eating harder foods again. After many appointments at Floss and an overall bad experience I decided to go to a new dentist. The new dentist took a look at my X-rays and pointed out in one of the teeth with the ceramic fillings done at Floss had a gap in between the ceramic filling and my tooth and that it would have to be redone. The new dentist also suggested a crown or a root canal and a crown for the 4th tooth that was still causing me pain, because the nerve of the tooth is so irritated at this point. I'm just overall exhausted with the whole experience at Floss, I went to countless appointments, having to take time off work to fix a problem that I shouldn't have had to begin with, and spent $5,700 on 4 ceramic fillings 2 of which still have issues and have to be redone. I wish I never had the ceramic fillings done at Floss. I spent half of 2021 only eating soft, room temperature or warm foods, because anything cold or hard caused me a lot of pain. I just recently had a root canal done on the 4th tooth at my new dentist and I was talking with the specialist who was performing my root canal and he said Floss had hired him but that he left Floss after one day because he didn't think they were well prepared in his opinion.

This is where Jennifer sent her personal comments to me after the "Termination of Care" letter.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I admit that I was tricked by all the fake before and after posts on Instagram! And I fell for the gimmicky pics with "D" list celebrities. So I agreed to pay over $16,000 for 7 upper veneers and 1 crown that previously had the root canal done plus whitening and a night guard. (Apparently Dr. Kiyan doesn't know what a night guard is because he gave me Clear Correct Aligners instead.) My insurance had already approved the crown replacement through another dentist but I decided to go with Floss and get them all done at once so they would match. For some reason Floss could never submit the claim correctly to the insurance for payment. So, that turned out to be an additional charge out of pocket. After the trimming down of the original teeth, I was sent home with a temporary one piece "flipper" secured in place. I was told that the permanent veneers would be ready in about 2 weeks. The temporary appliance was uncomfortable and smelly because water and food particles would get stuck between it and my gums. Then about 4 weeks into wearing it, it broke in half and fell out. Every day I called to see when the permanents would be ready and finally after about 6 weeks they were. Below are pictures of what I looked like when I had to go to work without teeth because the temporary fell out. Btw, I am a Flight Attendant and see many people every day. So about 3 months after getting the permanent veneers, one fell out! Not only could they not see me to fix it for over 3 weeks but they charge $180. What?! I just paid $16,000 and it falls out and I have to pay to get it fixed? I figured if I have to pay, I will go to my regular dentist and besides he can probably see me sooner. So, I did but after looking at it he would not touch it and reccomended that I just pay the $180. I went back to Floss where the dental assistant, not the dentist, fixed it. Then about 6 months later another one fell out! I mean, I have to go to work looking like this, without teeth!! This time when I called Floss they made an arrangement to get me in quick but before my appointment I recieved an email titled "Termination of Care" in which they describe a breakdown of trust and respect and that a therapeutic relationship no longer exists! What!? They don't trust and respect me? All I did was pay a lot of money for their trash services!! Then, another email that was from the same person, Jennifer, who signed the letter from her personal account that says, "Say goodbye to another nightmare" What is going on? I don't understand? Is this a professional dental office? Why would she call me "another nightmare"? The next day, I obviously did not go to the appointment so I got a message wanting to know why I didn't show up. What? Why would I go back to a dental office that sent me a letter saying they don't trust or respect me and called me a nightmare in an email? I have seen many other bad reviews on here that some how get removed. And, if they can't get them removed, this Alex just slanders the reviewer. So, I can't wait to see what she has to say about me!

She got great care from Dr. Saade and Ayah so I booked for the following week. The receptionists were kind and informative. They made me feel good about coming back too. Dr. Terranova and Patricia made my initial appointment welcoming and gentle. They were accommodating of me. This clinic creates a safety and calm that I had not experienced at previous dentists. I came back a week later for Dr. Terranova, Rich, and Delilah to take care of a bunch of work I needed done (fillings, crown replacement, deep cleaning). Then today, I got the other side of fillings done and also Max did my deep cleaning. Dr. Terranovaa is great at talking through everything calmly. She checks in throughout and remembers you're a person in the chair, not just teeth. I really appreciated being talked through parts that might pinch, vibrate, feel pressure, etc. They're clearly a busy clinic but I never felt she was rushing or annoyed. I really think this is a great place to go especially if you have fear or uncertainty about the dentist. I also would recommend Max if you're nervous about deep cleanings. I asked them to put him as my preferred hygienist, along with Ayah since she was great with my wife. Delilah did a fine job but everyone has different preferences and I just felt better with Max's approach. He explained everything, told me when I could close my mouth. provided a diagram marked with where I can't floss for 10 days due to antibiotics, provided verbal encouragement, and was also skillful at the injections needed to prep for my fillings after the cleaning). The dentist is not cheap but I felt I got my money's worth with all the attention and time taken. Parking is easy early in the morning, although it does cost money.

I was impressed that he was so honest and didn't just want to schedule an expensive procedure. I would highly recommend Dr. Yu if you need a consultation or procedure. He is highly skilled, very thorough and appears to run a great practice.

As a small business owner, I genuinely dislike leaving negative reviews -- I understand how much…read morethey matter. But my experience was so unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others. I was referred to Dr. Evans specifically because he is a biological dentist who specializes in ceramic implants. I scheduled my appointment about a month in advance. Before my visit, I proactively sent my existing 3D scan to the office via file transfer so I wouldn't need to be re-exposed to X-rays. I called to confirm receipt -- and they confirmed they had it. When I arrived for my 2:00 PM appointment, the front desk told me I would need a new 3D scan. I explained I had already sent mine over. They acted as if they had no record of it -- until they suddenly confirmed they did have it. Fifteen minutes later, they reversed again, claiming they couldn't open the files. I knew this wasn't a file issue, since every other office I'd sent the same files to had opened them without any problem. Eventually a second staff member was brought over, and after another 15 minutes, the files were opened. After more waiting, a staff member came to take me back -- straight to the X-ray machine -- and asked me to remove my earrings for a 3D scan. When I questioned it, she left, returned, and confirmed they did have my scan. I was sent back to the lobby. I was then brought to another room where staff asked me the exact same intake questions that no fewer than five different people had already asked me. It was now 2:45 PM, and I had not yet seen the doctor. They also made sure to charge me for the appointment before any services were rendered. At 2:55 PM -- nearly an hour after my appointment time -- I informed the front desk I needed to leave to pick up my child at 3:00. Only then did anyone rush to get the doctor. Dr. Evans came in at 2:57 PM, provided no information, answered none of my questions, and concluded the appointment at exactly 3:00. That was a complete waste of my time and money. The office is disorganized, the communication between staff is nonexistent, and there is zero respect for patients' time. You are the paying customer -- and they will make you wait an hour without acknowledgment or apology. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

4 stars for now after 1 consult appointment but will change later as relevant…read more The consult itself with Dr Kristallis I'd give 5 stars. I was reached out to by the clinic because my dr at ucsd helped put in an outside referral for me to see a jaw surgeon. This has been on the books for years now, but I was given extremely outdated advice to get braces first at the start of the pandemic so I followed that advice and now I wish I hadn't. Did the consult here and had a cone scan of my jaw/neck/skull and quickly was shown what I expected: that my jaw on the side that feels dislocated is in fact dislocated. I was pitched wearing a custom dental device that pulls my jaw forward so my muscles can relax and we can see diagnostically how far off it really is. That makes sense to me, I agree with that as an extra step. The other side of the purpose was that my joint would then be able to heal and no jaw surgery would be needed. This I highly doubt. I have a joint disease that's genetic and progressive and know the drill with eroded joint major problems: they're not going to heal, and if they do *after* surgery it still has a solid chance of healing incorrectly. The Dr didn't seem to recognize the name of the disease I have when mentioned, but otherwise seemed inquisitive and understood what domino effect I was describing, so I wouldn't call this a negative right away. It still makes sense to me to go forward with this step and then see a jaw surgeon for a second opinion. Why I took off a star for now is because I was contacted and seen the week before Christmas and they got me in quickly. I said I'd make the next appointment once I got a call about insurance coverage and also see if I could pull strings on coverage since I've had success with similar before - it's worth a shot. That said, that took 2 days before calling back in the New Year to say I want to schedule the next appointment, all is good, let's move forward. I've called every work day they say they're in in this new year and every time I get a voicemail and no call has been returned. So 5 stars so far for the Dr, 1 star for whoever's job it is to pick up the phone.

The doctors are very nice and seem to be good at what they do, however, nothing here is done with…read moreany sense of urgency whatsoever, and the desk staff have an apathetic attitude towards everything. I called to make an emergency appointment in February for extreme tooth pain. We're talking debilitating pain where I couldn't do anything, on the whole right side of my face. The earliest they could see me supposedly was in march. I make the appointment 3 weeks out and manage my pain for weeks on my own. I go in, and the office is completely empty. Absolutely nobody but staff. I waited 30 minutes before being seen, and then they rushed me through X-rays/3-d scanning, threw a prescription for 7 days of antibiotics at me, and made another appointment 2 weeks out for a root canal. No work was done, and the day of my first appointment, my pain stopped because the nerve had died while I was waiting to be seen. They spelled my name wrong and put my birthdate as 1943 (it's actually 1993) for the prescription, creating tons of problems when I went to pick it up. I go in for the root canal, and first of all the desk clerk forgot to actually schedule the appointment last time I was there, so there is a scramble the day before to get me on the books when I called to confirm my appointment. Then they moved my appointment time by 30 minutes when they actually scheduled me. I showed up at my originally scheduled time, again to a totally empty office, and am told that I am late even though I have the original appointment card with this time on it. The doctor takes me back and rushes through the procedure, opens my tooth and pokes around for a bit, tells me it's dead, and gives me a temporary filling. Doesn't complete the procedure, and books me out for another appointment a month away. Nobody at any point has taken my pain seriously or treated my appointments with any sense of urgency or respect, and the doctor didn't complete the full procedure when I was in their completely empty office for treatment. My tooth is now dead, and it wouldn't be if they had taken me seriously and treated my appointments with the proper urgency and seen me sooner or completed my procedure in one sitting like they should have. I have never had a dentist stop a root canal halfway through and tell me to come back almost a month later. Absolutely do not come here for anything that is an emergency. They won't treat it like one.

He certainly is not the stereotypical high-pressure dentist keen to upsell. Potential patients should be aware that (at least in April 2026) the office staff reportedly was preparing to move the office to a new location, and so patience may be needed in coordinating appointments, etc.

Dear Dr. Yu and Team,…read more As we approach the end of the year, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care you have provided me over the past two years. Thanks to your skill, patience, and professionalism, I not only regained a healthy and beautifully aligned smile, but also experienced a deep sense of emotional healing. Most of my earlier dental issues were the result of improper or careless treatment in the past. Because of this history, I carried a great deal of anxiety when it came to dental work. Under your care, however, I felt truly understood and supported. Your generosity, your willingness to provide additional guidance, and your genuine concern for my well-being have meant more to me than you may realize. I have recommended you to many of my friends, and I will continue to do so wholeheartedly. I am also writing a review on Yelp to share my positive experience with others -- people deserve to know that there is a dentist who treats his patients with such integrity, skill, and compassion. Thank you again for everything you have done for me. Wishing you and your entire office a joyful holiday season and a wonderful year ahead. With sincere appreciation, Jun
