Worked with Florin over the summer for our vacation home in St. Augustine. We installed new maple flooring throughout and I am beyond pleased with the result. Florin and his crew did an amazing job. Florin went above and beyond to make sure we like the stain color. Price wise, it was very fair, we were prepared to pay a lot more for all the work they had to do. Will definitely hire them again! If I could give Florin and his crew 10 stars, I would! They recently refinished our engineered hardwood floors - we had picked out a color for our newly-built home that looked sort of greyish green when installed. We disliked the color, and Florin said he could sand it down and restain it. I wasn't sure how it would come out, but it now looks amazing! Florin was soooo great to work with, I couldn't find the right color stain and he made several trips to my home to drop off different color samples he had stained for me. He wanted to make sure I'd be completely happy. (He is the nicest guy!) His work has exceeded my hopes and expectations. We now have stunningly beautiful, natural looking hardwood floors. I have been very reluctant to write this review, but I think the consumer should be aware. In the summer of 2021, I hired Florin's Floors to refinish my existing engineered wood floors, to add some additional wood flooring in 2 of the bedrooms and, to repair a few areas where a wall had once been. I noticed after the sanding had been completed, but before any finish had been applied, that one area had been over sanded thru the top layer of wood, exposing the inner plywood. I mentioned it to Florin, the owner, who told me it was due to the floor not being level.  I said to him, that may be the case, I didn't know, but this is a section of the floor that you replaced and repaired.  He told me he could fix it in the refinishing process.  I told him I thought the boards in question should be replaced, as it was a relatively large spot, approximately 13 inches by 2¾ inches in a high traffic area that would likely be noticeable regardless.  He told me he could replace the section, but he would have to charge me for the additional work.  Since he was insistent he could fix it, and he was the expert, I agreed to go with his advice rather than pay anything more for a mistake his team had made. Time goes on, the floors have finish applied, in general they look good "with" the exception of this one area.  He does what he can to fix it, but the area ends up looking black and blue on what otherwise is a very light floor - totally unacceptable!  When I complained, he tells me he has done what he could do, and I should have said something before the finishing was completed - which I had.  He then says that the area in question wasn't actually an area he had repaired and thus wasn't his responsibility if it was uneven.  I told him this wasn't true, as I had taken pictures of the whole process, and the area in question was definitely part of the floor that he repaired/replaced. He later upon physical inspection admitted that to be the case. I again told him that such a large black and blue spot in the middle of an otherwise very light floor was unacceptable, and I wanted the boards in question changed out and refinished.  He told me this couldn't reasonably be done given there was so little veneer left.  After much consternation, I then suggested (I believe very reasonably) he just reimburse me the cost of the repair work - about 15% of the cost of the entire job, and we would call it even.  He responded by saying, "he could do that, but he'd have to remove all of the wood he put down," and when I asked why, he said, "I'm not in the business of selling wood."  At this point, I realized there was no point in this discussion. Given our inability to resolve this issue, I didn't see much point in bringing up some of the other more minor but still significant issues. I did find it interesting that in the areas that were refinished, no fill was used between boards where it normally is (he did fill most of the areas where new wood was installed) leaving gaps which over time gather significant amounts of dust and dirt. Also many of the pieces of wood used in the repair process looked to be of a lower grade than that found elsewhere ( This was also pointed out many time in the process. Last but not least, quite a bit of floor finish ended up on the kitchen cabinets and front door. In his defense, he did return and spend a couple of hours cleaning up some of this, while he let me know my cleaning lady could have handled it! I wouldn't do business with this company again, and certainly wouldn't recommend anyone complete paying for his work, until the work is completely finished to your satisfaction - I should know better and that was my error. read more

Referred to Florins Floors by Granite Transformations due to damage to our engineered wood floor caused by its sales person dropping a stack of sample. The sales person said Florins was called to contact me to see how the floor may be repaired but Florins never called. After calling the sales person I called Florins and spoke with Florin himself. Said he would come out that afternoon. Now 5 days later and no show and no phone call. Apparently, Florins is not in need of customers. read more
