Listen, Florida Float Spa is rad. I took advantage of their first time float special and made an online appointment. I showed up early and chatted a little with the man behind the desk about what to expect. He led me to the float room, instructed me on how to use the equipment, and left me to... well... float. I stripped down and hopped into the float pod and the lights dimmed until they were off. The inside of the float pod has a soft light that lets you see just enough to get yourself situated. When I laid down, the experience was like floating on the most gentle, warmest lake you've ever been on. My ears went under the water, but my face stayed above the water. I could only hear my heart beating, but eventually, that faded away until I was just silent. It took me about 5 minutes before I was brave enough to turn off the pod light. When I did, the darkness freaked me out a little. I turned the light back on, gave it a few more minutes, and tried again. My brain really struggled with having zero senses engaged. It caused me to hear things that weren't there, and to "touch" things that weren't there. Not bad things mind you, just the sensation of touching the side of the tank, or the sound of a bump. After about 20 minutes, all of that faded away and there was just nothing. I just was... The first 25 minutes felt like 25 minutes. The next 35 minutes felt like 5 minutes. All of a sudden, the water in the pod started to cycle and my 60 minutes was up. I went back a few weeks later and tried it again. The first 5 minutes felt like 5 minutes, and the next 55 minutes felt like 5 minutes. It was really weird. Both times I exited the pod feeling that euphoria that you typically feel after having a massage. Your body is rested because it's just been floating in salt water for an hour, and your mind is rested because you turned it off for an hour. It's a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it for anyone. read more

Fantastic experience. Highly recommend. Spa was really clean, private, and tranquil. We were provided with ample towels, ear solution, ear plugs, q tips, spray bottle, floaty for your head, and a wonderful private shower in each chamber. We opted to get membership which allowed us a free float today. Great for singles or couples. The spa was even large enough to accommodate my 6'4" fiancé who said he fell asleep blissfully!!! We bought their lemongrass and sage body wash as well as delicious peach honey cbd drink afterwards. Definitely an A+ experience! read more

Going to this location was such a great experience. Jordan was incredibly knowledgeable about the benefits and helped get me set up for my float. It was a very clean and peaceful environment. I felt very comfortable here and I will definitely be returning. Thank you Jordan for the wonderful experience! read more

I have an affection for this place because of how good I feel every time I go there! The memberships are the way to go because all of the price points are so reasonable considering the stress relief that you receive. I have the unlimited infrared sauna membership and I love to come in as much as possible. The facility is super clean and the service is wonderful! It's located in a large plaza between Fit Life Foods and Kobe Japanese Steakhouse. There is ample free self-parking. read more

I read about floating in "Good to Go" and after hearing its benefits (mostly that it's a nice and relaxing way to spend an hour) I googled it in my area and found Tampa Floats. I found it quite relaxing and while lying on my back can be kinda painful, this wasn't. I could feel my right side barking at me a little, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I will be signing up for a monthly membership for sure. Even though nobody got my William Hurt and "Open the pod bay doors Hal" jokes. read more

Floating has been on my to do list and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner! It was so refreshing to shut off and fully relax. Andres explained the entire process and I felt at ease for my first float. There is a shower in the room to rinse before and after. They also provide a towel, ear plugs and qtips. You can leave the pod open or shut it. There is very dim colored lights in the room. I shut the pod so I could be in complete darkness. I would recommend and will be back! read more

Came here with my friend because we both been curious about the flotation pods! Booking online was very easy. Took less than a minute to book safe day appointment. Yay! This is part of a shopping center. So keep your eyes out!! We did pass it a little bit, and had to u-turn to get to the exact location. Once walked in, instantly greeted and the rooms were ready to go. The gentleman explained everything thoroughly and made sure we understood everything he said. They provide earplugs, towards, washcloth, shampoo, body soap, q-tips, and petroleum jelly in the room. They had hair blow dryer, combs, spray on deodorant, lotions and spray mist for hairs by the restroom. Everything you would need was there!! The flotation pod was cool and very relaxing!! Felt rejuvenated. However, I did accidentally got salt water in my eye and got burned!! So be careful!! It was a great experience and will do it again. read more

Very friendly person at the front desk (I wish I remembered his name). It seemed very clean, and he explained the whole process - from the beginning to the middle to the end. It's an awesome experience, and I recommend everyone trying it at least once! TMI but my PMS cramps were completely gone the entire hour I was floating (even with consistently taking Midol throughout the day, they are never completely gone). I will be back, when work is less hectic!! read more

Quick Read: RUN, DON'T WALK TO THIS PLACE! I gave a gift card to my significant other for Christmas to Tampa Floats and we took advantage of it last night. It was by far the most relaxing experience I have EVER had the privilege of enjoying, and Will guided us through the process expertly. The entire location is immaculately clean, peaceful, and we were warmly welcomed from the moment we walked in. The pods themselves are so incredibly peaceful, and Will made it abundantly clear how easy it was to get in and out of them (just in case you're feeling claustrophobic). I cannot say enough great things about this business, and can't wait until I get home in the summer to float again at this awesome location! read more

The float tank was a pretty cool experience. Definitely something people should do at least once. The man at the front was extremely nice. Everything was clean so really can't complain 10/10 read more

I had the great pleasure of floating for the third time today at Tampa Floats. It was a wonderful experience, from start to finish. I was sincerely impressed both by the facility and by the warm welcome I received. Alex is always friendly and relaxed. The facility is pristine and inviting. The float room (I have only tried their pod so far) is equipped with everything you need. I especially appreciated the cosmetic supplies for after you get out of the float tank and the visual diagram reminding me of the steps I should take before my float (forgetting to turn your phone off could hinder the experience). The float itself was pretty magical. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. The pod seems to be brand new, and you have the ability to turn the light off and on from inside the pod, I like having that control just in case I get nervous. I turned the light off as soon as I got in and felt totally comfortable after a couple minutes of orienting myself. The water is 40% epsom salt (I think) so basically it feels like you are laying on a bed of water, you float without any effort at all. I have a varicose vein that has constantly ached for years, it was completely relieved during my time in the tank and for a couple hours afterward, and in general has bothered me less and less since I began floating several months ago. I also felt refreshed after getting out of the tank, kind of like taking a nap or having a great massage, but for me, even better. t's really hard to put the experience into words, but I think it's a really great way to re-charge, be alone with your thoughts and to get away from technology. I'm convinced it's great for my mood and for alleviating my anxieties. It truly feels like a 60 minute attitude adjustment. I like the gentle notification of when the float was over, the filter was turned on so the water started to circulate around me, letting me know it was time to get out. 60 minutes flies by in a tank! If your on the fence about trying a float, I really don't think you will regret it, especially if you try it at Tampa Floats... they really have their customers' comfort level in mind. read more

I came here not really knowing what to expect other than floating around for an hour. Everything was super clean and well kept. Jeffrey was extremely friendly and informative. They give 90mins to actually shower before and after and get yourself. They also have a relaxing room with some cool items for you to utilize before you go back into crazy dale Mabry traffic. I will say it was an interesting experience but I just didn't really feel many effects of it after the fact. After a while I kind if just wanted to get out. (Felt claustrophobic maybe?)I also felt a bit strange after getting out of the pool since I was floating for so long. If it works for you awesome, my friend did it and said he would definitely do it again. It just wasn't the right fit for me unfortunately. read more

The owner did an excellent job of making this place relaxing. It's in a busy strip mall on Dale Mabry but when you enter, the ambience is relaxing. Ive floated elsewhere but this was my 1st time in an enclosed pod. It is way more spacious in the pod than I expected. I was able to close it completely with no anxiety. I appreciate the ear plugs, soft towels, q-tips, body soap and shampoo provided in the rooms. After your session, there is an area in the back with body lotion, face lotion, hair dryer, etc. Highly recommend this relaxing experience! read more

The relaxation I feel after an hour in the tank is amazing. My mind shuts off and my whole body is relaxed from all of my aches, pains and daily stresses. This is better than a massage. If you have never tried floating, I highly recommend this. Tampa Floats is always clean and the staff is very welcoming. read more

Had my first float in the tub not the pod. Will try pod next. Simply amazing! I could go every week. Very relaxing. I hate massages so this is a perfect alternative. The only thing is I got water in my sinus and ears and I now feel like I am getting a cold. But make sure you use the ear plugs and use the provided wash cloth to immediately wipe away water from your face when you get up from the water. read more

Every written a Haiku Review? Me neither, but my first float experience warrants one so here goes... "Let go and take flight. Illuminating darkness. Floating saline dream." I've been wanting to try a sensory deprivation tank for a while now, so I was elated to be invited on a "float date"! I walked in ready to relax and maybe get some meditation in. I didn't expect to leave feeling like I had a week of REM sleep. "Blissed-out" is the best way to describe the feeling you get from full sensory deprivation. When you're weightless in total darkness and silence, your mind does interesting things. I highly recommend you find out for yourself :) read more

Love this place! For those who haven't tried this, I recommend the open, pool-like version as opposed to the pods simply because it removes any notion of claustrophobia (although even the pods are great)! Owner is great! Place is very clean and has all of the necessary accessories needed for a comfortable, relaxing float (ear plugs etc.). For the skeptics out there, give it a try! Nothing like it on the PLANET!! read more

I was in town [Tampa] to visit my mother. I made an appointment using the website on Saturday 1/16 for an appointment on Sunday 1/17 at 4 pm. I did not have access to my computer and called Sunday after lunch to confirm the appointment. A man answered the phone and when I told him I made a reservation on the website, he said they've been booked for weeks and the website had been giving them problems. I asked him if I needed to cancel and he said no. I finished my business in Tampa and left. We didn't exchange names and I wish I had because my bank account was charged for the visit. I called Float and spoke to a woman Sunday night [from my home in Tallahassee] and she assured me I would be credited and she would investigate the issue as I had been booked in. I have sent them an email, called, and now I am disputing the charge with my bank. REALLY I hate when a company meddles around in my bank account. I thought they were a reputable group. No calls or emails back of explanation but several encouraging me to book "again". I could not be more disappointed in a local business. If you use them PAY CASH read more

This was my first float and the gentleman assisting me couldn't have been any better. He explained everything in great detail and made sure I was comfortable with the process. The experience itself is super cool, once you give in and simply relax. One tip, which they explain, is not to rub your eyes...for me it wasn't so much touching my face, it was lifting my head and allowing all the salt water to run into my eyes, they give you a fresh water spray bottle to rinse it out but now I know for the next time. I definitely plan on going back !! read more

Love Love Love this spot. I have floated before but this location is new and clean. They also have multiple things to do so you can go with a group and all end at the same time. I suggest doing normatec first and drink some hot tea while you sit. Then go into a float tank and finish with the suana!!! Makes for a relaxing day. The staff is so helpful and courteous. They make sure you get the experience you are looking for. New fav place!!! read more

Clean, well-run and quiet float tank facility. I highly recommend trying the float room over the pod if you haven't done so already.

Had another excellent experience again at Tampa Floats. Much improved shower head in the room I was in (not the super, too low flow one from the first time). I like the low key welcome and ease of getting started. In order to keep the pod from getting too cool it is important to keep it closed. I opened it a few times for my first float. I noticed a difference by keeping it closed the entire time this time. read more

I am opening a float spa and wanted to float while visiting family and getting ready for an upcoming week of business meetings and conference. I took my niece with me for her first float experience and we both had an great experience. My niece chose the pod, so I got the float room. I have never floated in an open float room and was a little worried it would feel to open and I'd get cold, but I was wrong. The "pool" in the float room was huge and the room is heated well. Really love the experience of the float room and like it as an option for people who are worried about feeling claustrophobic. read more

I was having a lot of back pain and my daughter recommended trying float therapy. Great location and owner is a wealth of knowledge in helping with the float experience. I signed up for more sessions. I really like this place. I've done floatation before and I really, really like this place. The last place I was at was too noisy and I could not relax. It was quiet here and I was completely relaxed. Everything was super clean and just perfectly appointed. It was just right. While I am still wanting to see what the benefits are, it's the next day and I feel great. Haven't been feeling great physically, quite sluggish actually. Today is the first time in a while that I feel energetic. If this is how this makes me feel, I will be a regular. And I am coming all the way from Riverview! Well worth the drive. read more

Alex is A++++++ all across the board. HIs facility is super clean and the equipment well kept up. We reserved both the pod and the open floating room.. The pod looked brand new and it was cool that you could float on 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt. It was also nice that Alex explained the whole process to us. He was very friendly, calm and hospitable. The open floating room was also very clean with 1,300 pounds of Epsom salt. Both rooms had showers to get clean before and after the 60 minute session. We thoroughly enjoyed our sessions. Thanks Alex. read more

This was a very relaxing and very nice experience. Everything seemed clean, the person who showed us the ropes did a very good job explaining the details.
