called FCU to purchase a Gap insurance for my 2024 Jeep Wrangler, As i noticed that i owe more then the 2024 Wrangler was worth.Since i believe very much in Insurance i decided to buy the Gap I spoke to FCU representative Neviea and she sold me the Gap,told me to sign the Docsign. I signed it and send a payment. I just traded my Jeep for a new 2026 Wrangler and called FCU to cancel my Gap ,Now i get the garbage the Neviea picked a none refundable GAP and i just signed on her word She didnt offer me a refundable or none refundable GAP...So now i lost 600.00 because i trusted what she sold me and didnt read what i signed Clearly a milead by her. I like FCU i do have few accounts there But i got screwed by one of their reps Shame on you. read more

Got there six minutes before they opened at 9 so I could dash in and dash out and stay on time for an obligation. Nine o'clock came and went. No sign of anyone. At 9:05, employees started sauntering toward doors to unlock them. No apology or explanation. They acted miffed that customers seemed surprised by the late opening. I would give negative stars if possible. I was forced to open several accounts by my abusive ex-husband. After having my face surgically repaired and finally filing for divorce, the judge awarded responsibility of these accounts to him. FCU refuses to acknowledge these court orders, and continues to rack up interest on my open accounts several years later. I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and contacting my lawyer. I've been a member with FLCU for 15 years and have received three car loans and a credit card and received excellent service throughout the years. December 2025 I got approved for a mortgage loan. The process started off good but then turned into a disaster. I was assigned with the mortgage processor Patricia Natuzzi and she was horrible. The lack of communication was insane. When asked where am I at in the process for my application to be sent to underwriter for final review her responses was always very vague. Like she was not knowledgeable in the job. My issue with the bank was after expressing I invested thousands of dollars into this so we have to stay proactive on this it was like they moved slow on purpose. I had to stay on top of her like a toddler because she never returned calls nor emails. I had to contact her everytime because she'll say she will call me and never does. I reached out to her multiple times in a day because I may not get a response whether it was email or phone. It was to the point I had to reach out to her manager Marcy Kautz. Marcy started out good but her communication ended badly too. She moved the process more than Patricia did. After awhile Marcy stopped responding to emails and calls. My closing date had to be pushed back several times because the bank moved like turtles. Slow as heck!!! When asked multiple times when will be my official closing date I received snarky responses like I'm not able to give a date. And without a date you don't have a contract in business -seller transaction. My realtor, seller, patricia, Marcy and I had a email thread to have a paper trail and neither one of the bank reps will ever respond. Eventually the seller ended the contract because of the terrible communication amongst the bank. After my money has been lost I angrily contacted the bank to speak with Marcy supervisor which is Gregory. He somewhat helped but the issue is not resolved. I'm still fighting to get reimbursed my money what I invested because of the bank slowness and terrible communication. FLCU mortage team is terrible. Rates are low but if you're trying to close your home in the standard time frame of a month you can forget it because they are in no rush. After this terrible experience I will be closing my account and banking elsewhere. read more

These people are thieves and idiots. I have been trying for 3 years to get them to remove my dead father from the account (I sent the FL death certificate via USPS, registered mail, FedEx, and email) but they won't do it. I am joint owner on the account and they cut off my access to online banking and refuse to honor my parents' POA because it was set up 25 years ago and they want a new one. I'm not sure how that would work since one of them is DEAD and the other is in a nursing home 400 miles away in end stage dementia and is non-communicative. I have called hundreds of times and they still haven't fixed the problem. This morning I sat on hold for 1.5 hours and I didn't even finish giving the information when the customer no service rep hung up. They have started deducting my mother's pension from the account even though she has no loans or credit cards with them. The last time I checked, that is called STEALING. They insist that they can fix it all if I show up in person, but that is a 14 hour round trip drive. I am going to be contacting the state Attorney General and whoever else in state government who deals with banking and seniors. I'm also contacting my attorney on Monday to see about filing suit against them. Enough is enough. It should not take 3 years to fix a few simple issues. read more

After making all my payments for over a year, I got a letter demanding a "late payment" or else my credit rating would be in danger. Nobody called or wrote before giving a 10-day "or else" deadline. I had to spend a half hour on hold and another 20 minutes getting someone to check. Long story short: IT WAS THEIR ERROR! Of course it was. They won't admit it. They don't apologize, If I had not been persistent, they would have wrecked my credit for no reason. Avoid them if you can. I'm moving that account as soon as possible. read more

I closed my account years ago with Florida Credit because I moved out of the area. Yesterday I received a credit card from them which left me concerned. When I called their supposed 'customer service' number I get someone who had marbles in her mouth. When I explained I no longer had an account with them but received a CC. I wanted to be sure this CC was closed. She said something like (again, sounded like she had marbles in her mouth) I had to come in to cancel. Again I explained I no longer live anywhere near the Gainesville area and she said (I think) she couldn't help me. Then I think I heard her say she would email me a form so I could cancel my CC. Sigh.....does anyone train their people how to deliver good customer service any more? FLCU certainly doesn't. If you are into being treated badly....then by all means, bank with them. read more

Bought a car in Ocala and they got my loan thru FCU. I live in Tampa and basically their online and website is a pain in the butt to use. When it locks you out, you have to call their customer service to unlock it and jump thru hoops. Kicker is the call cue is always long, typically I'll be #10-12 and give you an option for them to call you back. Well they "updated" their online interfaces, more than likely changed vendors. Well they screwed it up and more than likely didn't transfer people's account information over to the new system. You have to call them to "verify" your information. More likely they add your account when you call. Problem is everybody has the issue. I've called 3x already in the last week or so and I've been #47-50. Yep, not gonna get access anytime soon...so needless to say, I refinanced my loan thru Navy Fed, got a lower rate too from 3.9% to 2.29% and a lot easier to deal with. If I have to drive up to Ocala, it'll be to close my savings account. read more

Today i had a vile experience with a teller at the 43rd street branch, and the thing is, i wasnt even at his window. I asked a question of my teller, and he butted in and his 'answer' was a tad IRRELEVANT, then he looked down his nose at me, and said 'that's not how it works' and looked over at an officer and tried to get a laugh from her. it's a shame cause the teller at my window was polite, though he did seem a little new. read more

This bank used to be GREAT; as of Nov 2024 they are pitiful. They placed a restriction on my account so I cannot log in to my account to see what the issue is. I recently closed my checking with them, but still have 3 other accounts. Upon using "chat" I was told I have to call. After holding for more than 20 minutes, I was told no help was available, the dept who locked my account wasn't there, that my account was "dormant" after regular use, and a request would be placed to have someone call me on Monday, 11/4. No one called. I tried calling Monday at 4:10 pm, was on hold more than 33 minutes without response. I hung up and tried a different number (there are several available!), where I was on hold 5 mins. During this hold I was given an option to leave a "call back request without losing my place in line", which I did. I received a call back at 5:21pm, however the person disconnected the moment I answered. I tried calling back and gave up after 19 more mins on hold. 11/5 I tried again to call with the same result: extended wait on hold, request call back, bank person hangs up as soon as I answer. 11/6 I tried again, this time leaving my work desk phone as the call back number. I got the exact same result, the bank person disconnected as soon as I answered!!! Such a waste of time, major aggravation, and now I'm forced to go in the bank when I set everything else up online specifically because the only branch near me is very inconvenient. I've had this account more than 5 years, and this is how I'm treated??! I think it's reasonable to at the very LEAST be able to discuss an issue the bank created on the phone as well as have the barest minimum of customer service available. read more

I have been working with at least 4 or 5 different people trying to help me get setup with my external banks so they are all leanked together to use with negative results in over a two weeks. The last girl I talked to was so rude and disrespectful I almost wanted to go down and cancel any accounts with them and go to a bank instead. This forced me to call in to speak with collections, who interrogated me for several mins when all I wanted to do is bring my account current. Life happens. I made the mistake of choosing this credit union for my business account. 1. They ran my personal credit without my prior knowledge or consent. 2. They put an entire hold for 10 days on a business check I deposited, nowhere did they ever tell me they would do this. Prior checks deposited where available immediately. I have been a member for over 12 years. recently I had to stop payment to a lending agency permanently and called into the bank. I was assured that everything was taken care of and would not have anymore direct deposits coming out of my account to the lender. The next month it came out again sending my account into the hole. I called and got a hug run around until I got to Lila Colon. After giving me the same unsatisfactory answers that I have to file a dispute and wait 7 to 10 days for it to be settled and not even having gas money to get to work. I asked for her supervisor and she refused to give it to me or to connect me. She did admit that it was the banks fault but that there is nothing else that can be done. Why don't they just give me the money back and file the dispute for themselves. I'm broke i.e. No money to buy gas, food or anything. I finally just got a call back from Ms. Colon and was told the same thing again. She admitted again it was the banks fault and even advised me keep using the account even though there is no funds so my account just goes farther in the hole. This is the worst financial institution I have ever seen. We have a pick-up truck that was financed through this credit union. Payment all have been on time with extra paid each month. Insurance has never lapsed as per the agreement. The truck was repossessed the other day stating that we did not have insurance and that is why they repossessed the truck. We explained that we have had active insurance since the beginning, and offered to fax a copy to them, but the person we spoke to would not listen to anything we said. I have proof of insurance, proof of on-time payments she declined to accept. They proceeded to obtain insurance for the truck at an astronomical amount of money even though we already had insurance and tacked the fee onto the loan. Now to get the truck back we have to fill out a paper packet, (multiple pages) of hardship that we are not in to get the vehicle back, and it may take a week to 10 days after receipt. The person we talked to was extremely rude. Use extreme caution when dealing this this company. read more

Do not go near this institution. So after closing my account in October I had still received a statement from my credit card. The new institution I went to had sent them a check and they stated it was $40 short of what my balance was. Received a statement that there was still then over $300 owed two months later. Called back and they said oh you never paid the $40 to close your account. I said I closed the account prior to receiving the statement. If this is a scam I don't know what yes. As if things are hard enough in this world today and banking institutions don't follow the rules and regulations. People with power abuse and take advantage of the middle class. read more

My friend has been banking for Florida Credit Union for over three years. She was in the market to buy a car and her loan did not go through via FCU. I recommended her to try Radiant Credit Union (formerly Sunstate) and she was approved immediately. She also went to Campus USA and was approved. This is how you loose members.
