They are probably not the cheapest in town but the help I am given to find just the right frames makes it more than worth it. I now let Riad suggest (rather than me wandering about) and the last few times I have always selected the first or second of his suggestions (and trust me, I try on a LOT of pairs!) - and no matter how long it takes, you never feel like a nuisance. I am also surprised that it can be a couple of years between visits and he remembers my name. I never go anywhere else.

I purchased a pair of IC Berlin glasses from EyewearYouwear and picked them up in January 2022…read more When I finally got around to purchasing lenses for them in July, I noticed that the glasses had mismatched arms of differing lengths and shapes. I informed the store and initially, they were helpful and suggested that I bring the glasses in to address the problem. I attended the store yesterday, where they replaced the rubbers on the arms but not the arms themselves. I don't know the reason, but the store informed me that my glasses arms were actually meant to be mismatched and I should just accept that that's how quirky glasses designers roll. This is the first time I've ever been gaslit by staff in a store as a paying customer. Now I'm in a position where I've spent nearly $700 on designer glasses with mismatched arms and no remedy available. Not happy.

When we collected the 7 pairs, the frames & lenses had to be changed to the correct size. I went into 278 Kings St, Newtown store and Jamie was attentive and understanding. It was a complete rush as we were leaving the country to return to our home in Mexico. I love Dresden glasses and that is all I use, readers, sunnies and regular so it was vital I received them before flying out Saturday. Jamie communicated during the complete time and really went out of her way to make sure the order was correct and out the door. Since I was staying on the Central Coast they had to be in the mail to me within a day so as I would have them when I was flying home. Jamie made it happen! She is an employee that Dresden should be proud of and hopefully realize how valuable she is. Employees like Jamie ensure that Dresden provides #1 service. What people remember is not so much what happened, rather how they "felt" about what happened.

I usually spend quite a bit of time shopping for new frames, and in particular, I insist on frames that are not branded by some designer. That is basically the whole collection at Eyecare Plus. No silly designer brands. Just really high-quality, fashionable frames. It's getting harder and harder to find frames that aren't made in China these days, and the quality of European workmanship is really superior. Important if you expect your frames to last more than a year. I ended up choosing a cool pair of German-made ic! frames, and I've been getting compliments on them ever since, as they are very distinctive. The service is great. Unobtrusive if you're just looking-- and everything is available to try, you don't have to ask to get into locked cabinets. I went in once just to look, and came back again when I was ready to choose. When I was ready to narrow down my choices, the staff were actually helpful and gave me honest opinions about the ones I was trying. They didn't just tell me I looked great in everything. In fact, the salesperson (I think his name is Mike) recommended a different pair by the same manufacturer, and it turned out he was right-- they did suit me better. He was very critical about getting the right fit, making sure the frames sat across my nose at the right level and the way they wrapped behind my ears (I have a small head). He rejected a couple pairs which he said didn't fit me properly, and I appreciated that he took my choice so seriously and wanted me to have the right fit. Very professional. This seems like a small, independently run franchise. The optometrist, Chris Burgess, was very thorough and pleasant. All around nice people to do business with.

And now the game has changed, and dudes like Oscar Wylee offer cool designs, good quality, and good value. That's triple threat territory man! They've got half the store dedicated to spectacles and the other half to sunnies, which you can get prescription lenses put in. Plus they use the TOMS model - for every pair you buy, they donate a pair to someone in need. Well played OW. So yeah for $99 I got some mad sicks oil slicks and I'm walking around saying things like "You can be my wingman anytime" and it's confusing people but who cares because look at these sunnies.
