Was a fun atmosphere and good baseball! Would recommend to families and adults. Fun for everybody!

I went to a baseball game, but actually got to see how not to run a concession stand. It took about 15-30 minutes to get a hot dog and ice cream at this ballpark. Most of that time is waiting for them to prep your food and get it out to you at the side of the concession stand. You can not really see the game as you wait. Team staff told me it's due to young college kids who work at the ballpark. read more

The good: you are close to the field. If you like watching baseball, it's a fun place to go. There are activities for the kids. Easy to get in and out. The bad: overpriced food and drink; at least it's less than a Reds game. No stars and horrible umpiring. $11-15 tickets are high. Grass is $7. There probably wasn't 400 people in attendance tonight. Need a scoreboard with statistics. They regularly have discounts. read more

I'm just going to come right out and say that these guys royally screwed me over. I know that when I write this rant that I am being cheap, because this is over a matter of four dollars. If you were one of the hunderds of people that did the Fight for Air Carew Tower Climb you received a voucher for two free tickets to a Florence Freedom exhibition game. After making the 30 minute trek from Cincy to Florence we were told that we would have to pay $4 to upgrade our tickets because the "Reserved" seats had sold out. Never mind that this was an exhibition game on a rainy day that started 40 minutes late. I fought with the box office for about twenty minutes arguing that I had a voucher for free tickets and whatever seats they gave me had to be free. After talking to three different inept moms and daughters who neither understood my point nor did anything to sate me, I finally paid the four bucks because my date needed to use the facilities and I wasn't driving 30 minutes back to Cincy with nothing to show for it. Once inside we realized that the place was maybe 20% full. WTF! Completely steamed I had trouble enjoying the semi-professional product before me (slightly better than high school seniors, loads of dropped balls). I boycotted beer for the first three innings (I was mad, not crazy, people). When I finally came around to drinking beer and laughing at the whole situation, I found that the people working the concessions didn't know what they were doing either. My date asked what was in a specialty drink they were serving and the servers said "I don't know, just whatever you want and we'll put vodka in it". We passed on that. Then I asked for a beer and they looked at me as if I had an ear in the center of my forehead. "Uh...what?" Beer? Hello, beer? Baseball staple? They literally had to find someone special to handle my difficult request. I was then told I need a wrist band ('cause the people working there are too dumb to check ID's themselves, I'm merely guessing). The cop handing out the wrist bands was nice. I thought maybe alcohol was a special request this far down south, so I let it slide. But then we ordered some pretzels and cheese, and they had to find special help for this order too. "How many do I put in there?" "Should there be cheese?" Are you serious? This order took five minutes when it should have taken one. They were making an easy job look hard- all. night. long. The only redeeming quality about this place was one of the eight or so different mascots (not kidding) was freakin' hilarious. They had to get it right at least 1 of 8 times, no? I speak of the Florence Y'all Watertower mascot. No joke. This thing exists. Instant mascot hall of fame. Has to be right up there with the Montgomery Biscuit (that's right, it's a freakin' biscuit...with a butter pad tongue, google it now)! Love that. Otherwise, here comes my BBB complaint. read more

Tonight was a special promotion night at the Florence Freedom game: buy your tickets in advance and you get a free cheeseburger and $1 Margaritas. Problem was the Freedom staff didn't seem to know about the promotion. We got in with our online-purchased tickets, but had to go to the gift shop to get our cheeseburger vouchers. That took more than a few minute wait. Then when we took our vouchers to the concession stand, the employees didn't know what to do with the coupon. Believe it or not, after all that trouble, the burgers weren't bad: decent sized and pretty thick. The Margarita situation was no better. I stood in line for over 10 minutes and never even moved. Then the rain started; at least that cleared out the line for drinks. Eventually we got our $1 Margaritas and got to watch a decent game. read more

Good family place, inexpensive and entertaining. But... the seat sections are confusing with only a single flag for each number section and not sure if that's for the left or right of the flag. Either people were in our seats or we're in the wrong place, not sure. If you have a coupon for a free hot dog and drink better get it fast, when they're gone too bad and the coupon is for that night only. You pay more for the tickets with food coupons. They have fireworks Friday's and more promos other nights so overall a cheap Friday, something to do. read more

I've been to many baseball games over the years: numerous MLB games, several MiLB games, and some college and high school games. But I'd never been to an independent league game until a couple nights ago when we saw the Freedom take on the Windy City Thunderbolts. Pros: **Free parking **$1 beer/soda/ice cream sandwiches the night we went (think this was a special, obviously not every night! You could also get a large $2 non-specialty draft, which is a darn good deal if you get something like Hudy Amber). **Great cheap seats with excellent views of the field **Lots of random entertainment -- Belle the bird mascot flirting with unsuspecting middle-aged dudes, a mascot shaped like the Florence Y'all watertower, etc. Cons: **Sound system was little iffy, sometimes it was difficult to mince out the announcements **Kind of sad bathrooms **Boring pro-shop -- I was so ready to buy some cheezeball Florence swag (why not an homage to the water tower with something like "Florence Freedom y'all") but the logo on ALL of the merchandise was boring as hell **I get that this is a peanut-free ballpark, OK cool. But WTF is up with letting people smoke in certain parts of the park? It just seems to invalidate all the weird branding of "everyone can enjoy their time at the park!" surrounding the no-peanuts thing when you can smell smoke drifting by the restrooms. Ew. Overall, I love baseball, and while I wouldn't buy season tickets here, I'd totally go again on a night when the Reds are out of town and I need some cheap entertainment. read more

A lot has changed at the park in less than a year. Not a fan was going Tuesday as business group but told my sad story to business group and they will not go to park. We are donating ticket prices for relief fund for Dayton Ohio. They will appreciate it more than management at park. read more

The staff is great, the facilities look awesome and clean. The baseball was fun to watch, and our 13u baseball team got to run out on the field with the team and they got to sing take me out to the ballgame during the 7th inning stretch! read more

I enjoyed my experience at this little ballpark. You can gets seats that are very close to the field. I was impressed with the food selection. There were lots of options. One item we both really liked was the walking taco, served in a Fritos bag with a fork for $1. It was fantastic. The concourse is pretty big, so lots of space to walk around amongst the crowd. Down the left field line there is a big play area for the children. This place loses 1 star because the entire field is turf, even the "dirt". It changes the game a little bit. It's easy to get to this ballpark and plenty of parking which was free. Can't beat that! read more

Here for high school regionals and the HIGH SCHOOL tickets are $1 less than regular season minor league team. Can you say price gouging. Followed by horrible concessions. Soggy pretzel bites that the inside is completely dried out. read more

If I could give this less than a star, I would. Not as much the facilities as the owner, Clint Brown. After my run in with him, I understand why he makes no money on that place. We went up to watch a band that was playing after the game. The game was over and the box office had the blinds closed. So when we got to the gate, we told them that and they said ok go on in. We proceeded to meet friends and have a drink. About 20 minutes later, Mr Brown wedged his way between the tables and literally shoved tickets in mine and my friends face and said "the box office is open. These are $7.00". At this point, I admit, I used and explicit word because some big dude was bumping into me and shoving a ticket in my face. I had one $5.00 beer, so I was not intoxicated (just to clear that up). Mr. Brown informed me he owned the team and the ballpark and I could not talk to him like that. All the while I had my wallet out and cash in hand to give him his measly $7.00. He proceeded to get a bit too much in my personal space bubble and tell me people there didn't work for free and he was kicking me out. And I wasn't allowed to take my drink with me (one of the overpriced fishbowl messes they sell and it wasn't even mine). He proceeded to get the resident officer to walk me out. The officer was pleasant. He did his obligatory questioning or how much I had drank and who was driving. And even threw out a "that guys an ass" comment. Here's the bottom line: the fact is that this is really not much better than high school baseball, the players are not even paid that much-they live with host families as part of their payment. The food and drinks are expensive, you can't eat peanuts at a baseball game but you can be surrounded by smoke all down the 1st baseline. And heaven forbid you go on the other side because that is just a maze of screaming kids terrorizing each other in a bouncy house because parents are out watching the game. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! read more

Have been a few times but tonight found Florence freedom to be a little money hungry and rude ! First of all if you wanted to park in the parking lot close to the facilities you had to pay $5, if your kids wanted to play in the bouncy house you had to pay $5 then it was also ickey woods bobble head night didn't tell anyone your ticket had to be marked in order to get one and wanted you to pay $20 for ickey woods signature nah you can keep that sorry old player of a sucky team ! Their ushers were as rude as anybody I have ever dealt with ! Top it all off their food sucked their $7 mets were raw barley Luke warm ! Extremely loud PA system !! Makes me wonder where the 4 star Florence freedom went ?? Its went down hill !! read more

What a waste of money. Way over priced for what you get to watch and don't bother paying for better seats because once you're in, everyone just sits wherever regardless of what they paid. The real rippoff are the way over priced concessions, especially since you're not allowed to bring ANY food or drink of your own, including nuts of any kind. The kids activities will cost you as well. Definitely won't ever be back. read more

Awful place for a ball game, staff is terrible, they play walk up music for the opposing batters for some reason, the songs they play over the speaker are outdated and crappy, also used to work here and the managers are crap as well, just terrible drive across the river and go to a Reds game because this place is a joke. read more

I drove 30 miles with two adults 1 (8)year old child and 2 (3) year old twins. I realized I should have looked on the website but I assumed that was my mistake that children under three would be free. I went to the window and realized I would have to pay $50 for us to just get in so basically the 2 3 year olds who can care less about baseball have to pay an adult ticket. we came there to let the kids play in the bounce house and we would just stand on the side and look at the game every now and then. The Cincinnati Reds tickets are free for kids under 3 and we normally go there spend $15 for all of us to get in that include 3 bleacher seats for $5 each and 3 yr olds free. we basically go so they can play and I can watch the game from the TV. I spoke with Sarah who works in freedom on the phone while in the parking lot to let her know how upset I was with this price and ask for any kind of discount being we drove that far and we're still here and there was hardly anybody in the stadium and flat out refused. I ha someone else in charge call and explain my dissatisfaction and was verbally belittled told I should have checked the website and given reasons why he thought freedom was a better deal than the Reds which had nothing to do with it we were discussing the ticket price not the price for beer and parking etc , when I park for free at the Reds game and bring my items in. Go see a professional sports team for less than half the cost stay away from these people who can care less it will not give you discount when you drove 30 miles and nobody to the stadium." read more
