I have to confess that I didn't succeed at the last subject yet! Meanwhile, I am visiting some garden centres around and it has been a great experience. Planters Garden Centre is a perfect place to research about gardening. The facility offers a large range of plants, shrubs and trees and what should have been very confusing for an amateur like me, turned into something very educative day. Thanks to the leaflets offered to the customers with all basic information we need to start to understand more about this very English hobby. According to my auntie kate- a personal gardening adviser that day- the prices of some plants are reasonable for a big garden centre like that. Planters has also a huge and comfy restaurant that deserves to be visited, opens seven days a week and the parking is for free!

As you enter there's a remarkable selection of gifts available. If you're on present buying duty, this place is probably worth a visit before hitting the high street. We have a friend who's a keen cook and found a great selection of Birthday gifts we couldn't have found anywhere else. The cookbook stand we bought her now sits atop her kitchen work surface. I have strict orders from my mother-in-law that next time we visit she must come as she wants to take home some biscuits, and chocolates for her peckish hour before bed. Walking out the back of the shop the nursery is pretty well stocked, although it's just not as impressive as the shop. There's also a landscaped garden, planted up to show you all on offer. Once you've satisfied your shopping needs there's a pretty little cafe doing a nice line in teas, coffees and breakfast sandwiches. It may be looking a bit tired these days, but when the sun's shining it's still a nice place to enjoy a pot of tea from the café or for planning your purchases.

Also the roses used actually smell like roses. I know this sounds odd but I find that most of the roses you get now have no scent - which to me is part of the beauty of them ( brings back memories of my grandmas rose garden and trying to make my own perfume many years ago). We do tend to use this florists alot at work to send bouquets to clients and to successful candidates - partly as its just round the corner but also as they are consistently fab quality at a really good price( they have agreed a reduced rate to us I have to add due to the repeat business). The owner will listen to exactly what you want and will deliver the same day if needed. They are also good at catering to a lesser budget and adapting the flowers used to suit - which is great for kids!! They sell wonderful dried displays and vases etc,. also. The service is fantastic and very friendly.
