Maybe it's because I expect too much, but I figure if he can't do the job at least as good as I could do it why hire him? But I knew beforehand that installing hardwood stairs in my 70's era house was going to be very difficult. I saw the owner's work (James Amico) at a friend's house and try as I might I couldn't find a flaw, so I took a chance. Man am I glad I did!! He got us a really great price on a product we really love, he gave us options for interesting problems that popped up during installation and even showed me some some installtion tricks you won't find on any YouTube video. The installation was about as tight as it could possibly be, absolutely no caulk required anywhere, which was really hard to do considering that mine is a tract house with less than uniform treads and risers. In short, I don't see how it could have come out better. He even checked back with us (twice) to make sure there were no after-installation problems, how many contractors do that "after" they've been paid? Answer: none that I've ever used. Horizon Hardwood is a "real" 5-star company.

Pech Services/Eddie communicated with me well prior to making a decision about the project.
