I was driving down Branch Ave. and saw a Roy's Painting van and took down the number. I can't speak on Roy because I only dealt with Ginger and she was pleasant. She was a little late showing up for my estimate but I didn't mind since I work night shift and it allowed me to sleep a little longer. The price she gave was $100 less than my first quote so I went with Roy's. The painter, Oscar, showed up on the date on time, removed his shoes and was very respectful of my house. He arrived before I got home and discussed the project with my dad before getting started. I was just getting off work when I arrived 30 minutes later and he kept the noise down since I was sleeping in the next room. The paint job was very neat with no paint dripping anywhere. I wanted the room, including the ceiling and doors to be painted blue and the trims all white. I deducted 1 star because he painted the baseboards white but all the other trims around the doors and window sills blue. It may have been a miscommunication on the part of my dad who told him, "She wants the whole room blue" and it doesn't look bad so it's no biggie. I would definitely use them again if Oscar is who would be painting.

My wife and I ordered new hardwood flooring in July of 2025 and were told it would be ordered and…read morearrive in 2-3 weeks-- it took 6 weeks. On this matter, the owner eventually told me that it was delayed due to "tariffs"-- yet the hardwood flooring manufacturer, Somerset, proudly advertises their floors are produced in the United States and their supply chain entirely domestic-- which means they've likely not been impacted by any issues related to tariffs. Eventually the flooring arrived and their team began to install the product, only to later realize not enough product had been ordered, so the project couldn't be completed all at once. Fortunately more became available in about a week and they completed the project. While they informed me that the remainder of my flooring would be ordered they asked me to pay for half the balance of the project so they could "pay the crew". This is a flooring company that has a storefront and has been in business a long time, I was shocked they didn't apparently have the liquidity to pay their crew for a job that hadn't actually been completed. Eventually the job was finished and the product seems of high-quality, but the overall experience was not what I expected. We were referred to Rick's by a friend and didn't negotiate their price, or shop around, believing we'd get exceptional service and we did not. Other than an apology from the owner and GM, nothing was extended for the inconvenience we endured. All-in-all, I would not personally use Rick's again. It was a frustrating experience and when spending nearly $22k at a business, I'd definitely expect better.
