Had interactions with several people and everyone on the showroom floor was excellent. I was overwhelmed with all the choices and didn't really know where to start and with some guidance and zero pressure left some direction, samples and feeling good about the visit. The only not so good interaction was with the cashier...I really felt like I was putting that guy out by being shopping there. It was disappointing. 42 minutes ago New I've had 3 experiences in this store and the last one was so bad I won't return. First, they do not know how to process construction checks. This is a construction business. How can you not know what a construction check is ! Second the staff. I will not say they are all bad. One gentleman was very helpful , nice and knowledgeable. Then there's Kelsea who is a cashier. She would prefer to spend her time giggling with her friends and making out with Josh her boss. Since she was too busy not paying attention to her job we had to repeat our phone numbers several times. I finally said .... Since we've ordered thousands of dollars of tile here ? Can't you look it up by name ? She says do you know how many customers we have ? Ummmmm yeah lady the same amount as Lowe's or Home Depot. I demanded she try the very first number we gave her and miraculously it worked. She wasn't listening and did not want to take responsibility. Then there's another girl. She can't seem to spend enough time hanging out and talking Josh in the back about the partying that they'd experienced over the past weekend. Now you maybe wonder how I know all these things and these people names and their business. Well when you stand around in front of waiting customers and can't be dragged away from your stimulation conversation to help them. They tend to listen. I went to the store manager..... shift manager was all that was there on that day and all he could manage was to tell me that he didn't know what to do and I would have to wait until the real manager came in. Let me reiterate CONSTRUCTION. ! There is no waiting. Every minute someone else's lack of responsibility and or understanding is costing me time. Great showroom. I love coming here for home improvement or remodel inspiration. The place is clean, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. The flooring display samples are massive so you can really get a proper feel for what it will look like. Each display option is about 4'x8' so you can literally get a feel. In fact, every floor type sample is large, eye-level, accessible. And there are lots. Some of the wall and bathroom tile samples are up a little higher, but nicely displayed. There are quite a few finished bathroom displays that help give you ideas, which is nice An hour will fly by quick here, so don't be in a rush! read more

Based on a past referral I made an appointment with a designer and drove an hour down early one morning to meet with her. When I showed up (on time) she said she was double booked but had ten minutes to show me around. We basically raced around looking at tiles and flooring for my new home to be built. (Three bathrooms and 3300 sf home). Very disappointing experience and I won't return. read more

This was our first time in the Knoxville location and EVERYONE was so nice and friendly. Audrey L. was especially helpful and walked us around to different tile options they had available based on what I had described I was looking for. She even went above and beyond to show me upcoming items they would be getting in the next couple of months (my time frame was flexible). She gave us great tips/suggestions on picking a tile for flooring. When we went over to the wood flooring section, multiple people asked if we needed help. Not surprisingly, I placed an order for 16 boxes of laminate flooring online (because no one would answer the phone). I drove from Nashville to Knoxville and called 3 times on the way to make sure it was ready to be picked up. Again, no one answered. When I got there, they told me it would be ready in 45 mins to an hour. Needless to say, I just went to the bay and pulled the boxes myself and was out in 5 mins. Why these people exist makes no sense. Every.single.time I rely on them to get an online order it takes over an hour. This place is the Walmart of flooring. You go there because of the prices, but don't expect customer service. 5 people were available to tell me how long it would take, yet no one could simply pick my order. Dear Mr. Elon Musk, please hurry automation along a little faster so that I don't have to have these experiences with people anymore. read more

Yesterday was my first trip to Floor & Decor. Pros: large show room with good selection. Aisles are clean and organized. Cons: Customer service from the lady at the design counter. Unfortunately, I did not get her name. Since my first trip I wanted to ask a question. I approached the counter & ask if she worked there. She literally sighed & rolled her eyes. Hollered for someone else to help as she was getting ready to leave. I understand if approaching end of shift but customer service 101- better to state let me find someone to assist you. After ordering everything at floor and decor,the tile guy picked up my supplies and came to get started and the order was 100% wrong. They gave him the wrong board, tile, and grout. Nothing was done correctly which put him 3 hours behind for the day which totally messed up the entire situation. Unfortunately I used their contact for having the tile installed. It is called Installation Made Easy which is a national company that subcontracts their work out to local companies. I do not recommend this company in anyway because the tile installation had many mistakes and the guy had to come back and fix things. He fixed most things but there are still a few cracked tiles and even small tiles missing in corners. Better but not the way it should be. I am having a frustrating time with his boss at Mike's Hard SurfacThe local tile installer) One minute he says he'll take care of things and then the next he will not respond or answer and workers are not showing up. The job is still not completed and at this moment, I have been waiting for 3 hours (since he was supposed to come at 8 am) and "make things right". I will certainly update this review if the situation is rectified. As an update: the tile guy came back for the fifth time and fixed the cracked tiles and Mike, the man over the job, had someone come and fix the areas of sheet rock that were not done correctly. At this point, I would give the finished job an eight out of 10. I have no desire to have it all torn out and start all over again so I will keep it the way it is. It looks fine. read more

My mom and I have been looking for either laminate or vinyl flooring for the past month for our new build. We came into the store and was surprised by the prices. We got helped by an older man named Dale. He was amazing, super attentive and did everything he could to help us out. Really like this business! They have an awesome showroom to walk around and get ideas from as well as, in my experience, great customer service. I purchased all of the bamboo floors for my house a week ago. Today I got to moving boxes around and realized I only had 36 of the 38 I had purchased. I went back to the store and the manager I worked with, Gary, was quickly able to review security camera footage and verify that only 36 of 38 boxes had been loaded on my truck last week. I thought this was a very reasonable and common sense way to handle the situation. Gary was very polite and easy to work with. He had us on our way with our two boxes of floor right away, no hassle. I will definitely be coming back to Floor & Decor for future projects. read more

We had a slim timeframe so looked at IN STOCK items ONLY! Said they had the floor we wanted was in stock. NOPE! Then 2 weeks. Then 2 more weeks. Now late June (floors paid for in MARCH!) and just flat out disgusted by the utter lack of service or seeming to give a damn! I'd like to think they could at least PRETEND to care that they delayed our kitchen being finished by several MONTHS. Finally had to choose a totally different floor and really disappointed. Worst customer service ever! They shipped me some tile to my home through an 18 wheeler company that said that they could not come onto my road even though it is paved and there was plenty of room but I live at a dead end and they had no place to turn around. I had to drive 1 hour to their location to get the tile. When I got there, all of the tile was busted and the trucking company said that they had to return the product to Floor and Decor. I called them to replace the product but they wanted to charge me $100 more for shipping the new product to me! Ridiculous! It was their fault and their trucking company's fault that the tile was completely destroyed and they would not send me replacement tile at the same price in which I ordered it and increased the shipping another $100. Floor & Decor has an amazing selection and the pricing is so reasonable. I have visited them here in Knoxville on several occasions and have excellent custom service on each visit. Tim and Matt at the contractor desk are especially helpful not only to those in the trade but also were quick to jump in with home owners to answer questions. I see the previous post where people are unhappy with installation but Floor and Decor is s only selling product. I think any installation issues are a reflection of the installer, not the material supplier. I couldn't be more happy with my experiences with Floor and Decor! read more

The tile selection is great and the free design service was beneficial to me. However, my advice to others is only buy items that are in stock and can be taken home the day of purchase. I bought tile that was supposedly in stock but the trim had to be special ordered and should arrive no less than 2 weeks. I paid for the entire order and took the option of picking up everything at one time. After 3 weeks and no word from them I started calling them. They not only could explain why the trim hadn't arrived but then said there was an inventory issue with the tile. The tile was listed in their inventory as in house but they couldn't locate it in the store. Each time I called or stopped by I was told someone was working on it and would give me a call. Not once did anyone call back. This went on for another week and after 2 trips to the store and speaking with a very unprofessional manager I canceled the entire order. The manager sets a poor example for his employees. Most of the employees were nice but it is obvious Floor & Decor does not emphasize customer satisfaction to their employees. The only customer oriented employee was the design consultant. I noticed some other reviews stating the same concern. read more

They would not let us keep some tile and materials for our new house in their warehouse so we had them delivered to our construction site asking them to put the pallets in the garage. They left everything out in the driveway in the weather -- grout and thin set. When my husband called Floor and Decor they just said not our problem once it leaves our store. It was their delivery service that did it. Very disappointed when you spend the money we spent and this is their response. Terrible to do people that way!!!! read more

Buyer beware if you want to save yourself heartache and stress do not do business with this company!!! More so do not get your floors installed by them. They use a third party company, Home Services Store which contracts their installers. They are quick to sell you flooring but the minute you have an issue they tell you there is nothing they can do for you. I had an issue with one of their installation companies..Mikes Hardsurface installations. The store won't take accountability and neither will the installation company. My issue has been addressed with corporate and they could care less and are rude about it!! It has been 4 months since I purchased my flooring and my home is half complete. Thankfully no one has tripped on any of the incomplete areas..entryway, and two hallways. Their policy is to leave it up to the installer if he wants to return any money to me or not..hmmm he's the one who caused all the problems and left the job incomplete. They say get estimates for the work and submit it to us and we'll talk to the installer to see what he wants to pay. The warranty they give you is worthless too..if it was truly a warranty my floors and all of my issues would have been taken care of already. To top it all off the portion of the flooring I do have installed (stranded bamboo) is a horrible product. Anything you do causes it to scratch, I understand all flooring scratches to some degree but mine is terrible!!! I feel like we cannot live comfortably in our home and let our kids play without fear of getting the floors all scratched up. I moved an empty sports bottle across it and it scratched. They will not do anything to make my horrible situation better. I paid ALOT of our hard earned money and have nothing but stress. Please people do your homework, look on Better Business bureau website..they have almost 80 complaints. Also look up their third party installations company Home Services Store, they have plenty of complaints and everyone says the same as me "they do not stand by their products, and refuse to help satisfy their customers" I know this is an incredibly long post but I just don't want anyone else to suffer the way I am. read more
