Normally I would take Amtrak for my trip but on this particular day they had planned track maintenance which would had ment 2 separate train ride and a bus connection... so I went with FlixBus since it's just 1 bus ride with 2 stops. I had pay the fee for an extra seat for extra space and also picked the "panorama" seat selection to be in the front and as the name suggests, a panorama view out the front window. Instead I got a backward facing seat at a table for 4 with the passengers facing me using the shared table for their carry on and wanting to use my extra seat for bag storage. read more

If I could give a lower rating I would. I bought premium, front-row seats for a bus trip from Lviv, Ukraine to Krakow, Poland for July 28, 2025 for myself and daughter, hoping for a comfortable journey. This turned out to be a huge disappointment and a cautionary tale. Despite having purchased and reserved specific seats, we were informed by the driver that they were already taken. In lieu of no other option, we were moved to alternative seats next to bathroom further back in the bus. The driver never scanned our tickets. He showed us the screen on his app it was reserved by another from Kiev onward and I could also confirm occupied. After the trip, I contacted customer service to request a refund for the price difference between the premium seats I paid for and the standard seats we were given. The company's response was shocking and unhelpful. They claimed their system showed we were in the assigned seats and demanded photographic proof that we were not--an absurd request in any scenario. Who thinks to take pictures of other passengers in their seats or the driver's screen during an unexpected boarding issue? Can you imagine taking pictures of strangers in a war zone, foreign country etc. on how obtrusive this might seem... After digging through my photos, I found one taken by my daughter that clearly showed we were not in the seats we paid for. Even with this evidence, the company only refunded the miniscule booking fee, refusing to compensate us for the much larger premium ticket cost. When I tried to escalate the issue, they simply stated it had already been 'resolved.' Lastly this claim of refund has been five days ago and nothing of credit to my cc. Given delays in response and final outcome I have disputed with my cc, all in I am happy to pay standard rates just don't think its fair and reasonable to pay such high ticket rates for a non premium seat. Warning: This company places 100% of the liability on the customer if anything goes wrong with their booking system. Their customer service is unhelpful, and their expectations for evidence are unreasonable and systems seem unreliable from this experience. The entire experience was frustrating and left me feeling cheated on principle alone. I strongly advise other travelers to be cautious and consider alternative travel options. read more

Flixbus is not dependable and I do not recommend it. I will go into greater detail, but here are some things you can expect: 1. The bus to show up at the wrong location. 2. The bus might not be marked as a "Flixbus." 3. The bus will leave early without you (see screenshots for a bus that is leaving over 30 minutes early). 4. Customer service might say they cannot give you a refund due to their "terms and conditions." Ask them to cite the specific clause because they are just saying that! I took Flixbus from San Diego to LA and it was a fine, comfortable experience but I had difficulties with the return trip. I was at the correct bus stop early (3:17pm for a bus that left at 3:35pm) and there was another passenger waiting for Flixbus there too. An unmarked black bus pulled up across the street at 3:30pm and left at 3:31pm. When I checked at 3:40 p.m. it said that the bus had departed. I guess the unmarked bus at the wrong location must have been my bus and when I contacted customer service for a refund they tried to tell me that it did not qualify for a refund in the United States according to their terms & conditions. I had to ask them to try to cite their applicable terms & conditions and when they realized they could not they finally agreed to process the refund. I have attached screenshots of the tracking from the app that shows that the bus is willing to leave early. Please note that the Irvine stop is scheduled for 6:35pm but left at 6:01pm, over 30 minutes early! Even in the official emails they recommend you are just 15 minutes early, so at this point why even bother scheduling it? The Amtrak is more expensive but at least runs on an actual dependable schedule, so I will be using that instead. read more

We bought tickets to Anaheim (red eye) so we can go to Disney. We arrive to San Jose Diridon and there were 2 buses one Greyhound and one Flixbus. We went to the Flixbus and the driver couldn't find our tickets neither our names. He said that his final destination was L.A. He was nice enough to call somebody to help us and see what we can do. We bough the the tickets paid extra for seat reservation. But there was no bus that was going to Anaheim. We end up driving because we have plans the next day at Disney. read more

Heading towards Los Angeles Union Station I didn't have any issues at all. They arrive timely and leaves on time. For the FlixBus, there's plugs for charging your devices and they work!!! Heading towards the High Desert I was pleasantly surprised as well. Prior to leaving they have a FlixBus Waiting Lounge at the Cesar Chavez x Vignes parking lot location. It was nice to not have to wait outside in the elements. Waiting inside was nice because they have a camera where you can see the buses in the bay and when the bus you need is there. Also there are plugs along the wall to charge up your devices. They also have an ATM and a vending machine. (I didn't use them, so I can't vouch for them). In addition there's a gentleman there who makes announcements so you will not miss your bus. Overall I was pleasantly impressed. read more

I highly recommend against FlixBus. Their busses frequently run (very) late, and they don't make any effort to notify customers (no email/text/call). Whats worse is the busses often pick up in dark parking lots without any seating or protection from the elements, so you could be waiting in the rain or in the dark in an unsafe neighborhood waiting for hours. Here's one experience I had with them, as an example: On March 7, 2024, we arrived to the bus station 15 minutes early, per instructions. The bus station was actually a dark parking lot with no seats and no protection from the elements, in a relatively unsafe part of town. This was doubly bad as it was a rainy evening in Austin and there was no covering in the parking lot. After waiting and the departure time passing, we contacted FlixBus only to find out that the bus was delayed more than 45 minutes. FlixBus made no attempt to contact us via email, text, or phone. Had we been notified, we would have waited in our hotel. Instead, we were left waiting in rain in a dark parking lot. FlixBus put us in an unsafe and uncomfortable situation, and we expect a full refund. I have contacted the support team, and they made no apologies for the delay or lack of communication. Instead, they stated that their policy is that refunds are only issued for delays over two hours. I would have been more forgiving if we had received any notice. Airlines, trains, and other transportation providers notify their customers about delays, and FlixBus should be obligated to do so as well. Even as I'm writing this, I can see on their website that the bus still hasn't arrived and is not 50 minutes late - and growing. We were not about to wait in the rain in an unsafe neighborhood with all of our luggage for 50+ minutes hoping the bus would come. FlixBus customer support was entirely unempathetic and unhelpful, and seemed to have no concern for the safety of their passengers. read more

Rating is a 2.5. Took Flix from Easton, PA to NYC. Price unbelievable compared to the other, and only, service, so figured try it. Pickup was good, newer, green bus, on time if not a minute or two early. Little loud, but I'm also used to the early morning "quiet bus" of the other service. Guy next to me talked on his phone most of the trip there. Annoying. Now, the trip home. BAD. Driver on his phone, loud, in Chinese or Tagalog, whatever it was, so loud that a passenger spoke up "Loud!" to try getting him to shut up. Guy also hit ever pothole on the road, and maybe off, the bus was bouncing like a basketball, bus itself was, as another review has stated, not a Flix bus but a replacement. Old, beat-up, ceiling fabric falling down, and just an unsafe, please just get us home, feeling. Young woman in front of me told me "Wherever you're getting off, so am I. I can't be on this bus much longer". The outdoor-only pickup and drop off spot in the city was full of mice and rats. Not the occasional, you expect this mice and rats. We're talking families of them who weren't afraid of people. And, the trash cans at the pickup and drop spot were full, giving them easy meals. Flix needs a better spot. One that offers customers indoor waiting. I did it yesterday, in nice weather, but no way I do it during the Winter. If do it again, I'll take Flix to the city, but not back from. Bad drivers, replacement, old buses, outdoor in the weather, and leaving only at 5:00pm (rush hour traffic) takes forever to get you home. If it wasn't for my quick thinking and action I'd have been left stranded in Long Beach CA after FlixBus bus cancelled my bus trip home to San Diego. They are reasonably priced as long as you book your trip early, but may cancel on you at anytime with no explanation. NEVER TAKE A FLIXBUS. I ONLY use Flixbus because there is no alternative for my route. But I can not recommend this garbage service. In my dozens of trips, they have been late nine times out of ten. I have sat at the stop up to an hour and thirty minutes after they said they would. They are regularly late to the point that on their end, it would be best to just mark it as a later pickup time. Their outlets never work, and the buses consistently smell worse than your average city bus. I recently had my trip canceled, and their garbage app only worked to schedule a replacement trip for a time I couldn't make it. The refined option didn't work, and their awful customer service couldn't do anything after another hour. If I could wish any company to go bankrupt and be replaced I'd pray it were Flixbus. read more

I'm on a bus to San Diego. I paid for a FlixBus bus with all its features but instead It's a sub contracted bus that is not a FlixBus but private label. This bus is not really what was advertised. No WiFi or extra leg roomI. The seat assignments which is what I paid for was not delivered since I was told it was open seating. I was planning on taking the bud on a regular basis but what you are offering is bare bones. Greyhound in this case is similar. I feel I was mislead by FlixBus website and what I was promised. Customer Service seems not to care and I do lodge a complaint since I paid for a reserved seat but then told seating was open. My kid was home from school and didn't plans classes that well so we had to find a way back at the last minute for a crazy priced airline ticket. The bus was from LA to NORCAL. It was quite a crowd at drop off - some personalities there but all a positive a group. The drivers have a variety of personalities to. Fortunately, the bus I booked for my kid had a younger guy who seemed pretty diligent. Be on time - actually early - as several buses departed frequently and you don't want to miss yours by getting there late and/or getting on the wrong one. Also, be aware they sometimes lease a bus from another bus company so your bus may not be brand as Flixxbus. My son arrived 400 miles later on time with no problems. read more

A few days ago I booked a bus for today, 4/21/24, departing at 7am of Vegas to arrive in Los Angeles at 11:30am. At 5:15am I got an email that they cancelled that bus and were rescheduling me on a different one at a different stop, and I don't even want to explain how stupid it was to take the new bus to the ORIGINAL 7am stop, only to sit and wait 15 min at pickup. New arrival time to L.A. said 12:55 and i would still have to rush but I couldmake it to work. It's 12:55 now and we're still an hour out. Round trip when ordering means pay for one way and their computer system doesn't bring you to schedule return trip-this happened to many of us-we ended up doing two one way trips. I will continue to use them because the seats are really comfortable, the Drivers get us to the next transfer really well, the buses are clean, and have toilets, and they go farther than Greyhound in a day with their tag team buses. They are the price of gas fillups for my car for the trip. Transfers are a guessing game right now. We know what bus to take next by asking the Drivers. Nothing on the bus that says where they are going next. Not all are even " Flix buses" on the outside. There is storage under your seat for a small item. Where do I begin? Very delayed bus, gas leak, stubborn driver didn't want to stop. Cockroaches on the bus, strong smell in the restroom. My family told me that it was a risk to continue. I step out of the bus on the next stop and preferred to stay at a hotel across the street. I bought another ticket for the next day bus. Something happened with the next bus that we had to wait for another driver to drive the bus. We waited 3 hours, and the heat in Nevada and part of the California desert couldn't help. The Flixbus customer service, horrible service. I was riding this bus for years, but it is declining how I see it, and some other people riding the bus said the same thing. I've been taking this cheap bus for two years once a month and every time has been worse. Drivers are rude to passengers, toillete always dirty and smelly. I read many bad reviews. However, I I like to give businesses the benefit of the doubt. Those reviews were accurate! My daughter's bus was scheduled to arrive at 4pm. The app said it would be an hour late. Then it said it was 30 minutes away. Then it said it wasn't going to arrive until 6pm. Finally a bus arrived at 6pm but that wasn't the 4pm bus. The bus driver said the 4pm bus was going to arrive at 7pm. I guess the bus driver felt bad for the students waiting there (at least 2hrs). She told them, " I have 19 seats available get on." My daughter jumped on the bus and arrived to her destination at 8:04pm. According to the bus driver the 4pm bus broke down. No complaints about the bus, ride or bus driver. I sent a scathing letter to FlixBus and they still did nothing to remedy the situation. They do not care about customer service so, they DEFINITELY don't care about the customer. I rented a room and didn't get a refund having arrived at NEAR midnight instead of 7 in the evening!!!! And, today, we were left stranded in Vegas! I need a refund, now! I had to purchase tickets from greyhound to return home and spent an additional 112 dollars on the Eve of Mother's Day. My trip was changed several times and our time was cut short in Vegas by nearly three hours! There were events we were going to do but, could no longer because of that change. I have already stated this issue and you did nothing to rectify it. You are not reputable and I will make sure people know about your shady practices. I will never use them again. I booked them recently from London to Birmingham return. On the outbound leg the toilet was blocked, there was no wifi and I couldn't charge my phone, 3 of the promised amenities on board. On the return the toilet was disgusting, it clearly had not been cleaned, my seat saw soaking wet and I couldn't change as the bus was full, the wifi again didn't work and from my aisle seat I could not reach the charger ports without leaving cables across the passenger beside me. read more

The FlixBus between San Diego and Los Angeles is the worse route. Besides old, broken seats and no amenities charted buses, the company has no respect for clients. Last week my trip was cancelled after waiting more than 1 hour. No personal gave the right answer and no backup buses were re-routed to attend the entire passengers. If it wasn't for the a group of us to call an uber, we would have been left hanging. Also, after cancellation, the company asks you to reach out to them to ask for a refund, instead of doing automatically. I took the flix bus many times from Palm Spirngs to LA without incident until one day I showed up for the bus 10 minutes early instead of 15 minutes as suggested. The bus took off 13 minutes prior to departure time (according to one agent) or never came (according to people who got there at 5:40AM for the 6:20 AM bus). Either way, none of the agents on the chatbot knew what was going on. If the bus was there and took off 13 minutes earlier knowing fully well there were 7 other people who have not checked in, seems like it's a really bad business practice. I received a Welcome Aboard notification on my Flix app nonetheless without ever checking in...not sure what that's all about. To be fair, this was outsourced route ( Indio to LA )to Greyhound. I never had issues when I took Flix bus from Palm Springs. Really too bad this is the only public transportation from PS to LA. I would pay more (not Uber price but something more reasonable) if there were other options. read more

If I could use "negative stars", I would. This doesn't remotely deserve a single star. Flix bus is HORRIBLE!! Do NOT use this mode of transportation!!! For #1, the bus was late. #2. The bus stopped on opposite side of road, dropped a passenger off and drove away w/the pedal to the metal!!! I'm so not exaggerating. #3. The driver had no care at all in regards to picking up passengers at this particular stop. #4. We wrote a grievance to the company due to the fact we NEVER were able to board the bus that was late and didn't give ANY passengers any opportunity to board the bus. #5. The company wrote back a month later stating that the bus was "on time" & other passengers boarded. A complete LIE!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear it was like the SpongeBob episode! Sounds funny but I'm not even exaggerating. #6. There are absolutely no signs indicating where the bus will stop. Two weeks in a row Flixbus cancelled my bus from LA to Palm Springs and then wanted me to forfeit $9.99 cancellation for the ticket in each direction for the booking that they cancelled and cannot provide. On top of all that, last week they cancelled the return trip first and asked me to reschedule to a Greyhound bus from Indio, 29 miles away. Then on the actual trip to Palm Springs, their contracted bus drove the first leg from Hollywood to downtown LA, then dropped me off to catch the connecting bus 20 minutes later which never showed up. They cancelled that portion of the bus trip without ANY notice to me of the other passengers. Their business is either hopelessly inept or completely shady. At 4:55 am I received an email stating that our initial departure of 5:25 am had been delayed to 6:32 am. We showed up and waited a long with another passenger and the bus never showed up.
