I went here last night for a family meal, after not having been for a little while - and it was as…read moregood as I remember. It's well-sited in Westbourne, and it has a public car park at the back which is free after 6pm, and is on the main bus route. The main problem with the restaurant however, is that it is too popular for the space - so make sure you book in advance. They turned several people away whilst I was there. The decor inside is slightly bizarre, with Salvador Dali-style murals on the walls, but this does not detract from the atmosphere. If anything, it prevents the place from being too posh and stuffy. Where Coffee Club excels is in its food. The menu, for a start, is a thing of wonder. It's impossible not to find anything you like, because it's so varied. Seafood, Chinese & Thai stir fries, pasta, pizza, burgers. Even fish & chips, jacket potatoes or omelettes at lunchtime. While it's easy to assume that it ends up in the category of "Jack of all trades, master of none", this is simply not the case. We all ordered different things and were impressed by how great it was. The starter was a Mediterranean-style mezze, with what must have been homemade hummus, greek yoghurt, olives, halloumi and pitta. For a main course, I had a Thai chicken pasta, which was rather a strange-sounding combination but worked brilliantly. Cooked to perfection, and with just the right amount of spice. I skipped straight to a cup of tea after that, but my boyfriend had a rather tasty looking fudge brownie. While the prices are a little more than you would pay for the average meal, the portions are absolutely huge, so you won't be going hungry. Dinner for 6 plus wine and drinks cost £135. Coffee club is open all day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also, as you might expect from the name, does a good selection of coffees. Great for sitting outside on a summers day!

Eaten here twice. The current owner used to have them both. Food very good and staff nice and friendly. Worth a visit.

The quirky decor, though faux, is appealing if you like chandeliers, Victoriana (likely from China), and stuffed stag heads. Music is a quite loud speakeasy playlist. Lots of menu options, from tapas to burgers with a gastro pub range of mains. Nice cocktail list too, and they have a gluten free menu - though sadly, as everywhere else, the only gf pudding is sorbet. Service seems fine, and they serve meals all day from 9am to 10pm, and breakfast is served til 6pm! There are a lot of stairs, though there's a lift to the first floor to get you started. The main restaurant is only open Fri, Sat, Sun in winter, but you can eat in the first floor cafe/bar the rest of the time. There is a third floor dining area with terrace for summer, which we did not explore in January! The food is very serviceable if not exactly a gastronomic experience. We had excellent game stew, with lots of chunky pheasant, venison and rabbit. The promised root vegetables in the stew were a bit few and far between, but it came with champ (mash and spring onion), and was gluten free. Dessert was chocolate croissant bread and butter pud, with fine vanilla custard (for me) and (good quality) mango and blackcurrant sorbets for my GF partner. A rum based espresso martini to finish. So dinner with two courses, and drinks was fifty quid for two, which is pretty reasonable. So, definitely will be back, and we recommend it.

It was my turn, I go to the till, the person behind me goes to the 2nd till and one of the guys on the side comes running. I go and tell the girl manning my till what just happened and she was apologetic. I go back to my table to see what family want for drinks, to prove a point I go to the second till to see if they'll serve me. One of the guys looked me straight in the eye and carried on talking. The girl changed tills to serve me. Pub quiz starts. Mum got bored and started texting on her phone for work. Got disqualified* for having our phone, despite the fact that we told him my mum was working. Fine. We had our phones. But there were at least three other tables we pointed out that were blatantly cheating using their phones and he just carried on with the quiz. I went back in because I realised I left my bag, and I went and told him again that he's not doing anything about the other people on their phones. He claims he never saw them and carried on with the quiz. They were our go-to coffee place. Lost 4 customers in half an hour, bravo. *EDIT: he also said it on the mic in front of everyone to embarrass her
