They are wonderful!!!! We've been to other gymnastics locations in the Woodbury area, although not for years now as I would never leave rising stars, and no one comes even close. 100% would recommend for gymnastics. These are Some of the best, most caring instructors my kids have had throughout many years of sports and activities. Jay, on the boys side is amazing, Christy and Clarissa are wonderful and great coaches, the girls at the desk are always polite!

I was there about 10 minutes when my 5 year old came to me with tears in her eyes saying the teacher told her she can't be there on Tuesdays and has to come on Mondays. I had to interrupt the two young women who were talking about their day at the front desk to ask what was going on, and they informed me that we signed up for Monday evenings. I said no we have other commitments on Mondays and basically was told, sorry nothing we can do for you. So THEY put the wrong night down and now I have a crying 5 year old that was told to leave class, when it wasn't even her fault. Then they told me that my daughter was there on Monday evening, and showed me the class roster and her name was checked off. She was in a different city taking swimming lessons at the time they said she was there. So for a positive, safe environment that is being talked about in the main page and website, they are pencil whipping the attendance, so they actually have no idea what kids are there or not. As I said we have been spending our money there for 2 years, and now they can't or won't try to fix their mistake. The owner was too busy to come and talk to me when asked to speak to one of them, and I was told they would contact us the following day. Do not trust this place, do not trust them with your child's safety. There are a ton of other better options in the area. Some of the instructors are great, but some are just kids themselves that do not teach the kids anything. Instead of making sure the child was having the best experience possible, they made her feel singled out and like she did something wrong, and trying to explain to a 5 year old that she didn't do anything wrong but was still told to leave class in front of all the other kids is just embarrassing for her. On the bright side, we went to the competitor and were able to sign up for less, and at a more convenient location in a nicer facility.

PARENTS BEWARE!!!…read more Midwest Gymnastics is not a safe environment for children. Understaffed, staff that are not attentive, and owners that only care about making themselves known and making money. With multiple staff members that have open SafeSport allegations and investigations for verbal and physical abuse. As well as staff members that are too busy watching their phones instead of watching for the safety of gymnasts. Midwest staff members also have multiple past investigations and allegations of abuse, bullying, and unsafe conditions. I would also recommend to be weary of ownership - Jess Graba was Ali's coach from the age of 4 and up and now they are married, sounds like the perfect example of "grooming" While there are some good athletes that have come from Midwest, I would recommend doing your research on the history of the gym, it's owners, and past events that have occured.

I signed up for the toddlers and tykes class because I wanted my son to have an opportunity to work…read moreon gross motor skills and to do something different. In my mind this was going to be more like gymboree style where we do a lot of floor stuff and just working on moving bodies around. Instead I think this is a class for people who REALLY want their kids to get into gymnastics and potentially become an Olympic gymnast. The class is split up into three rotations. The first is floor exercises such as walking across low beams, hoping along tape (etc.). You then move into bars. Kids are suppose to crab walk across bars, flip over the bars, and do other quite complicated gymnastic moves on bars not on the ground. The class ends with trampoline skills. Personally, I found the class not really geared towards toddlers. The class says it is for 18 months - three year olds, but I couldn't imagine taking my child in at 18 months to this class. I watch the coach telling us what they wanted the kids to do some of these times and my jaw hits the floor. They are asking them to do handstands by putting hands down and walking their feet up mats, do specific types of jumps on trampolines, do flips over bars, etc. Like real gymnastic moves. Some of the kids were able to do it, but for most they just play and run around. I kind of wish the class was more welcoming and open to people who aren't hardcore gymnasts. The instructors were nice enough. I think one of the challenges with working with this age group is you have to be the right person to do it. I used to work as a camp counselor for many years, and I totally knew I wasn't the prek/k group counselor material. The instructor is basically just walks us through each exercise then lets us have at it. She gives some praise every once and a while, but that is about it. No real hands on help with some of the more complicated moves or modifications for kiddos not ready to do back rolls and crab walks across parallel bars. I also have found the front office to be a bit unwelcoming. My first day there I came in and no one was working the front desk. I had no idea where I was going or what I was doing. Someone finally showed up, but paid no attention to me. There is no hello, goodbye, or have a nice day. I think if you are serious about gymnastics, this place is great. If you just want your kid to have some fun, burn off some energy, and work on gross motor skills, maybe look elsewhere.

She got us situated with all of our stuff, including the pitcher of margaritas I brought, and made sure we were feeling comfortable. We started off with the aerial silks which had us all dying laughing as we learned how to stand, sit, and hang upside down in the silks. Pro tip - definitely stretch before taking this class! I pulled a hamstring and had to stretch it out before proceeding. Then we moved on to the pole dancing which was also hilarious as we tried to dance, spin, and climb the stripper poles. Rochelle was a great teacher the whole time constantly reminding us "No THRUSTING!" on the poles. Rochelle even let us hang out a bit after class and finish our margaritas in the lounge area. The next day we were all comparing our various sore spots and bruises. We definitely worked muscles we didn't know we had! All in all, it was a fabulous way to spend an evening with friends.

This review is for a private party only, I have not taken any regularly scheduled classes…read more Four stars for two reasons: 1. They scheduled two parties back to back, with no buffer, so shoes were piled on top of shoes, and we had to wait for one party to exit (past our scheduled start time) in order to start our party. 2. We had to share poles/silks because there were too many people. It would have been nice to know how many poles/silks they had beforehand, or if they could split the group in two so we wouldn't have to wait to take a turn. Check-in/waiver signing was super easy and quick. You have to pay a deposit for 8 people ($37.50 per person) to book your class, everyone above and beyond that number can pay separately at the time of the class. Tips are appreciated, they can be paid in cash or along with the class fee. Pole dancing and aerial skills, the perfect bachelorette party. Even if you don't have any sort of athletic skillz, and are not in shape, the private party is still completely do-able. They are sure to do basics, nothing complicated, that lets people of all fitness levels enjoy at least a little bit of the class. The instructor, Zecky was very patient with my group of rowdy ladies. She made every effort to make sure everyone was being safe while having loads of fun, and corralled everyone in poses for some fun pictures. I would highly recommend having a private party here!
