I was going to let my experience go but since the Clinic decided to send us a certified letter in…read morethe mail stating they will no longer see my dog (even though we didn't plan to come back and they had to have known that as we collected our records) My 5 year old German Shepherd had a large bump that came and went, hair lost and grown back, scabbed then healed for almost 2 years. The first year we were in Austin and saw the vet many times, and sent emails with photos many times in between, Dr. Erlandson had those records. It was well recorded I believed it was a Mast Cell Tumor. We are extremely diligent in our pets health, having lost a dog of unknown reasons that same year this started we were even more diligent. When we moved back to Tyler this clinic was highly suggested. I brought her in February 2024, starting then at South Tyler Animal Clinic in her notes its noted I believed it was Mast Cell Tumor (on top of the year befores records from Austin) I asked to have her cut open to test or check for foreign objects, I was consistently told that wasn't needed. Our dog was brought in multiple times, all of course an added expense and no resolve. End of January 2025 the mass was angrier than ever and not going away, they aspirated the mass and guess what it was Mast Cell Tumor! No apologies or any sign of sympathy for the fact it's what I said all along. Luckily it came back the lowest grade but that's not the point. There is still a possibility of it coming back or having spread without us knowing yet. Obviously our main concern is my dogs health and the fact Cancer was festering in her body for almost 2 years. The cost of repeated vet visits is also a major one. We then paid for an extremely expensive surgery, they of course upselled a teeth cleaning, we agreed, she calls and says they didn't have time to complete that during surgery and the bill miraculously came out to be just about the same. I have not been rude to the staff or Vet, I have not threatened a bad review or reporting the negligence to Vet board, we even didn't complain about the surgery bill. The only complaint I made was for one of the final checkup cost as she had been in for the same undiagnosed problem many times, and that's when they finally diagnosed her, they took about $80 off that visit. The vet didn't even call and checkup on my dog at any point after surgery which is unusual as in the past vets have called to checkup on minor visits. I do not want to speak ill of the clinic as a whole because others like it here, I found techs to be amazing with my skiddish dog, also I have no idea how much control each vet has. I would not suggest Dr. Megan Erlandson, maybe there is a reason she has one of the few other negative reviews at this Clinic regarding diagnosis and bed side manner, she is a younger vet who hopefully can learn from this.

Last minute booking will limit your options, especially around holidays. The only complaint I have is that our poodle and his blanky were soaked in doggy pee when we picked him up once. He was in an indoor/outdoor run, and couldn't figure out how to use the doggy door. We usually have him bathed before pick-up (recommended), but were in a hurry to pick him up this particular time. The staff is happy to give updates if you are worried about your pup or have questions.

For some reason (maybe she - the front desk receptionist - told me it was because they were being cleaned? I can't exactly remember.). I was not able to check them out. This second time, when picking up Phoebe, a new customer came in and someone - whom I supposed was the owner of BB&B - took her right back without question. It may not be their general operating procedure, as it is with many other boarding kennels; but, I was told that we would be sent a photo of her on her first five-day visit. In fact, they offered. That didn't happen. It's not something that I expect from a kennel; but, more and more kennels are sending daily updates via a photo or two showing pets playing or just having a good time. I think it's a great way to reassure pet owners that their pets are comfortable while owners are gone. On this second visit, I reminded them that they never provided me with a photo for the first visit; and, I was assured that it would happen this time. Again, it didn't happen. I left 12 Wuffes (hip/joint supplements) for six days with instructions that she was to receive two per day. (Even left two extra just in case we didn't get back as scheduled). Out of the twelve, 10 were returned. This means that they were given to Phoebe only one day. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I was trying to really like this place. With both a five-night and a six-night visit, boarding isn't cheap. And, I certainly don't mind paying for it, but, when it comes to my pets when I'm not able to be around them, it is comforting to know that they are in a safe, comfortable place where their health needs are being met by staff, especially when provided with meds and instructions. Just reviewed my online invoice to find that I WAS CHARGED $9.90 FOR PLAYTIME THAT I DID NOT REQUEST. I had earned free pool time. I figured, as did another reviewer of BB&B, that since most kennels allow dogs to be given socialization time, that this place would work that way as well, but, apparently that is NOT the policy here. I do a lot of traveling, but afraid I'll have to find a different kennel boarding option from here on out.

My dog was severely injured at their day care. She broke her Femur. Emergency surgery was needed…read more I called and asked them to review video and see how this had happened. No video shows incident. They also claim no responsibility to injury and I'm left with a very hefty medical bill. Pet owners need to be aware that this place and possibly others will leave you with just a "Sorry that this happened"!response if your dog is injured. If I can give this place 5 negative stars I would. This is total negligence and irresponsibility on their part. I believe they care more about taking your Benjamin's than caring for your Bengie!

I picked a level 5 but the owner talked me into a level 4 since it'll be easier to manage the shedding with. When I called and made the appointment, I told the lady I did not want him shaved or cut too short. When I arrived I told the lady 4 times that: 1. I've never had a dog groomed before so a professional recommendation would be appreciated. 2. Do not shave MY DOG!!! I want to keep him longer just trim all the wispy hairs up and give him an GOLDEN CUT. I kid you not... I picked him up and he is SHAVED!!! All but his tail was touched. I was at a loss of words. We called after I got home and now the owner is arguing with us and refuses to believe he really is that short. She also told me it was MY fault because I "pointed" at the board when the cut lengths. As a professional... would you advise if cuts were against what the customer asked for? Wouldn't you guide them in something that's new to them but THEIR PROFESSION?!? I will never return and will forever warn people about the incompetence running wild through this facility. His undercoat has been damaged. His hair texture has completely changed. His coat doesn't grown back in curly anyone (my favorite part and the whole reason I don't want him shaved). Our vet advised us, it won't ever grow back the same and will take at least two years to fix the damage they caused. This is your warning- do yourself a favor and STAY FAR AWAY!!!
