I had gained a lot of weight due to the stress and cortisol that was released in my body along with not getting much good sleep at all for months. I knew my son would want me to grab a hold of my life and get things a bit back on track. I interviewed a few people and once I talked with Dara over a phone consultation I knew she was the perfect person to help me. I am now 3 months in and am the strongest I have been in years thanks to our strength training. I can lift my own luggage up into the overhead bin with no soreness. I can get up and down stairs fantastically now (even though I had a partial knee replacement 2 years ago). My mental health is more aligned with my goals of navigating this grief journey with moments of joy along with sadness. Dara is fantastic at adapting my workouts to my limitations and age. I know that the clothes will fit better and better as I continue the good work with her. I've lost about 85 lbs, and added about 10 lbs of muscle mass. I have reached personal bests in Bench, squats, and Deadlifts in the 250 to 325 lbs. range. The place has an excellent culture, and the trainers are cognizant of your goals, not their preferred routine. There are all types, from all over. Everybody gives off the 'we belong here" vibe. It's a welcoming place. The trainers are qualified, and get you where you want to be. Frankly, I could have switched to a cheaper venue some time ago, but it's worth it to me to stay. I called 6 times to try to explain to the manager that I had an injury that prevented me to attend for over a month (which I paid $120 for that month) I was unable to workout. The ones in the main room you may see one person on one of them, but the movie room treadmills are the main equipment used in the movie room. The last 4 times I stopped in to try and get a treadmill, I was only able to use one once out of the 4. What is the use in having a membership if the management does not respond to their patrons and you are not able to use the equipment you joined for??? I will say this... This location doesn't look very big - but it honestly has plenty of room for every workout we've ever done without feeling cramped. The child center space is great and the child center staff has consistently been great with my baby boy. The trainers are wonderful - I love that they push you to try harder but they aren't breathing down your neck while you're working out.
