    Lunch cassoulet
    Mike L.

An Elderly Owner, past his prime, wandering from the kitchen to the seating area, with their mask around their neck, eating a handheld sandwich. 1 overworked staff doing everything while the owner played with his computer. I went there because of past remembrances of a Cassoulet, ten+ years ago. I ordered a sparkling water, a French Onion soup and a cassoulet. After the waiter breaking the glass we were off to a rocky start. The soup was radioactive hot, not just really hot, but blistering so when I touched the bowl I was transported to hell. Sort of average soup, three slices of baguette with cheese on them though is a nice touch. Now the feature act. The cassoulet came with 2 tiny sausages and a lamb chop sitting on top. The "pork" and beans were lacking in mouth feel from the pork fat? If any. The three meats should have been melting in the cassoulet for at least 3 hours! Not laying on a bed of beans. The chop and sausages just came off a grill a few seconds before. The chop was gristle and fat, that was inedible and should have melted away in the cooking process, it didn't. I ate the soup and sent back half of the cassoulet, no questions were asked. I ordered a Creme Brulee, finally my memory was acquitted. $ 80 later. No I will not go again.

I've been coming here for over a decade and this is truly one my favourite spots. Their Ahi Tuna is to die for (my favourite meal of all time, truly) and their mousse au chocolat is phenomenal. I no longer live in Calgary but whenever I am in town I always stop by. Dale will always be our most beloved server, but all of the staff (including Patrice) are lovely. The ambiance is also perfect and makes you feel like you're in France.

French bistro in the heart of Calgary. Authentic French cuisine with lots of character and charm. The owner, Patrice, has been running the place for 19 years with remarkable consistency and supporting staff who provide additional personal charm. The menu includes traditional French recipes with good wine selection (soup l'oignon, pate du conarde, steak au poivre, salad nicoise (fresh tuna), tarte tatin and cream brule.

This was dinner tonight at Fleur de Sel. Chicken in a white wine cream sauce. Pasta in creamy bacon and their signature veg!

Dinner at Fleur de Sel tonight. AMAZING as always but tonight oh my god! So good!! Started off with Romain with roasted garlic and vinegrette and a side of this french fries they make that you would litterally sell you kids for! Then it was on to Chicken in a cream white wine sauce, pasta with BIG chunks of bacon and their signature veg! I'm telling you, reasonably priced and top notch food and service! It doesn't get better then this!

Love this place. This feels like being in a small bistro in France. The food is simple but amazing. Service is fast and friendly.

The duck & waffles was a confit duck leg, vanilla liege waffles, foie gras gravy with a bistro salad that had a yuzu vanilla vinaigrette. Duck was delicious. I liked the salad, but honestly felt that the vanilla in the vinaigrette would be best removed. However, that's my personal opinion. The waffles were... ok. It was like eating cake and bits of sugar. I mentioned to the server that the waffles had chunks of sugar in them, but she said that they were sugar coated. To be honest, I'm not convinced. there was chunks of white sugar, not a glaze...In the waffle itself. And the batter was very heavy, thick and cake like. Not the best waffles. French toast was great, very filling and delicious. It has a foie gras caramel, maple pecans, maple caramelized apples, whipped cream cheese and back bacon. This can easily be your new favourite. My mimosa was amazing, best mimosa I've honestly ever had. Americano wasn't really anything special, especially for $6. While it was a decent breakfast, I don't think I would order waffles again from here unless they change their recipe. I was also a little disappointed they didn't have more than 2 flavours of latte. I don't think I would return with the competition that's out there, but it wasn't bad.

The menu doesn't give you appetizer options so all they have are expensive mains. I ordered the cabbage rolls and basically it was very small amount of cabbage with tons of pork sausage for $34. Yes it was alright but that was it! No vegetables, no side starch. Sides are not even in the menu for you to order. The dish was way too heavy. My husband's gnocchi dish was mediocre as well. The service was good though. It wasn't their fault that the restaurant menu was so bad. I ended up leaving and headed to Norleys to order Empanadas. Overall we will not go back. Such a bad experience.

Awesome Date night! My wife and I did the "date Night" menu…read morefor my birthday, and it didn't disappoint! Ribeye Steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Some of the most delicious mashed potatoes (potato puree) I have ever had. The Caesar salad was also on point as was the cheesecake for desert. The wine we had was went beautifully wiht the Ribeye, but was also nice for sipping ( we did the extra bottle !) This was our first time there, bt will certainnly not be the last- wayy too many yummy things on the menu to check out

My family and I love French food and we were really excited to try this new place out…read more We started with the foie Gras, escargot, and French onion soup. They were all great. My parents favorite dish of the entire meal was the escargot. I loved the escargot. The French onion soup was a little salty but I finished the entire thing. For mains we ordered the beef Wellington, steak frites, and shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. Beef Wellington: we ordered the filet medium rare, more on the rare side. It came out medium rare/medium. The mushroom sauce was delicious, pastry flaky, and mashed potatoes creamy. Steak Frites: the fries were a let down because they had no truffle on them, the steak was quite flavorful with the sauce. It was unfortunate that the steak had a tendon running down the side of the strip. Prawns Fettucine: the sauce was very creamy. The noodles were almost too al dente for my liking (but that may be a style of French cooking?). The prawns didn't add anything special Dessert we got the banana foster. The cooking flambé display was impressive. The banana foster was good, but other than the flambé nothing too exciting. If I were to go back, I would try the chicken or duck. . . . Unfortunately, the mussels were a little fishy.
