History
Established in 2009.
Fleur D'Lis is an online flower shop. Customers can place their orders over the phone or through our website to be delivered in select areas of El Cajon, Santee, Lakeside, La Mesa and Spring Valley. For event work (funerals, weddings, dinner parties, galas, etc), email us to schedule a phone meeting to discuss details.
From 2011-2013 we were voted among the Best Florists by Union Tribune readers and San Diego's A-List voters.
The name Fleur D'Lis Flowers has a romantic significance. Diana's husband proposed to her while she was studying abroad in Florence, Italy. The symbol of Florence is the fleur dis lis. The King of France sent the fleur dis lis crest to his fiance as a wedding present and so the city adopted the emblem. Fleur D'Lis specializes in event work, particularly weddings, so it seemed fitting to commemorate her engagedment in Florence by using the symbol as her business name.
Meet the Business Owner: Diana C.
Diana's parents began their floral business in El Cajon back in 1983 and so began her love of decorating and special events.
She enrolled in design and business classes to further her education and has been involved with many large scale projects including the Pasadena Rose Parade 2008, Quail Botanical Garden's annual gala, Art Alive and the American Institute of Floral Design's Symposium. She has also judged for the floral design competitions at the Del Mar Fair (SD County Fair).
In 1999, she became a Certified Balloon Artist (C.B.A.) with Qualatex, and has done large balloon decor for a major retail giant. In 2009, she received her California Certified Florist (C.C.F.) certification from the CalState Floral Association (CSFA). Event installation & floral design skills were perfected while working for a large casino in San Diego for 7 years.
