I asked our cashier, "Joe," if I could enter my phone number for any discounts or to accumulate points toward membership benefits, and he rudely said, "It's too late." When I asked what he meant, he repeated that it was too late because the store was closing and he couldn't allow me to enter my number, even though it wasn't 7 p.m. yet, the store was still open, and there was still a line of customers checking out. I wasn't asking for anything complicated, just to enter my number on the keypad right in front of him, ring up our items, and check out. I also asked if my mother could sign up for a membership, since I'd been raving about this store and she was excited to join. He said no to both. I was genuinely confused because he seemed annoyed with us, and we hadn't done anything to him. Confused, I asked for a manager. It wasn't a miscommunication, since Joe spoke perfect English. I just genuinely didn't understand the refusal. While waiting, I overheard another cashier explaining the day's color-tag discounts and promotions to a different customer. Joe never offered us any of that information. We were met with rudeness and dismissiveness from him. When the manager came over, she had an attitude and talked over me as I tried to explain what was going on. She said Joe meant "there's no deals on Sundays" and pointed to the sign. I told her I already knew that, I can read, and I've been a member there for years. I was trying to explain that Joe had refused to let me enter my phone number, sign my mom up for a membership, or tell us about the color-tag discounts, claiming it was too late because the store was closing , even though there were still people in the store. The manager's response was that if we needed discounts, we should come back Monday through Thursday, which missed the point entirely and left my mother and me feeling like we'd been stereotyped as customers who were only there for discounts. I've shopped at this store for years and brought my mother because I wanted her to love it as much as I do. Instead, the visit left us feeling dismissed and stereotyped over what should have been a simple, friendly interaction. Joe and the manager were rude and unwelcoming, which made us so uncomfortable. A little patience and basic courtesy would have made all the difference. Please work on your customer service.

You can find men's, women's, and children's clothing in a wide variety of styles and sizes at bargain bin prices. I noted some brand names, too. Was able to purchase several outfits for a fraction of what I would have paid at other high-end stores. While clothing is by far the largest offering, Gabe's does have sections for books, small electronics (e.g. dashcams, charging cables, BT headphones, and speakers), a pet section, housewares (bath, cookware, decor), makeup/beauty, toys, shoes, snacks, purses, etc.... They also carry seasonal novelties during the holidays. If you've never been to Gabe's, I highly recommend it, even if it's just to look around. Only advice I have is to carefully inspect everything you plan to buy, particularly the clothing. Sometimes, the items may have a little tear, stitching issue, or discolorations/stains. I ended up buying a shirt where one sleeve was longer than the other (lol)! There is usually no line when I visit in the morning, which was the case today (04.10.25). I would suggest going early as I have waited up to 20 mins when visiting in the late afternoon and evenings. This is likely due to there being only one person staffing the return area. My items have always been bagged, labeled and placed in a box alongside other returns. Compared to other return drops, I find that I receive notice from Amazon sooner when using this Kohl's location. Improvements could be made to the organization of the area. It's cluttered and lacks an apparent organizational flow. I have not, however, had any returns go missing or unaccounted for. I'll continue to use this location when convenient.
