I have been on the hunt for a good pair of shoes for those days where you're trying to get all your steps in. I'd heard of places doing appropriate fit testing that goes further from the traditional method of putting your foot in and seeing where your toe is at. Fleet Feet offers a full scan of your foot and can track where you apply pressure when you walk. The scan/testing is very quick which offers some additional insights such as arch height, heel/ankle width, and more. The employee takes that information and grabs shoes to match. I will say it's a bit hard on the first visit to know what all I should be looking for once putting the shoe on because you get the technical speech, but some shoes just feel like shoes. I haven't reached pro status, but to accommodate this Fleet Feet does have a solid return policy in case you change your mind after walking out. I also walked out with some insoles to help with the arch and so far so good. It can be a bit pricey, but the shoes themselves match online prices and online you won't get the scan. Buying shoes is really hard for me! I tend to get decision fatigue and I have so many problems with my feet that I tend to just pick a shoe and call it a day. Recently I've been walking and running more and noticed my shoes are pretty worn. Then my husband said he also needed new shoes so we decided to come to the professionals. Came and got our feet scanned (which is just a really cool feature in and of itself) and got recommendations. After about an hour of trying on shoes, different lacing styles, and socks and inserts I'm leaving with a pair of shoes that are probably the most comfortable pairs of shoes I've ever tried on in my life (ghost max brooks). My husband is really excited about his pair too (altra experience form). So coming and getting expert opinion on shoes, having someone help you find what's right and leaving with a shoe that should eliminate foot pain, 10/10. But the best part of the experience was working with Mike! The whole hour he was so incredibly patient, asked all the right questions and was totally cool about our toddler being a toddler. I never felt like we were annoying him, he got us multiple shoes to try and he comforted me when I started to get fatigued with trying on shoes over and over again. First off the staff was EXTREMELY friendly from the moment I walked in. They asked me what my needs were, scanned my foot, explained the results, then found me the perfect pair of shoes! I was able to compare two different pairs to see what was a better fit. The staff member was very knowledgeable and was doing a phenomenal job training his new co-worker as well. There was patience and kindness shown throughout my entire visit. I did NOT feel looked down upon at all for not having much knowledge about proper running shoes. I recently went here to get fitted for a new pair of athletic shoes and it was my first visit. I had seen great reviews online but I am quite disappointed by recent reviews I see here on Yelp. Yikes. My experience was ok... but wasn't quite what I was expecting. The young man who helped me was named Ian and he seemed very knowledgeable about shoes and fittings. I even forgot socks and he had a pair for me to borrow and that was nice. However, in the end he seemed like he was ready to move onto his next client. I was literally their first customer of the day and felt like they just wanted to get through their fittings and move on with their lives. I appreciate the technology the use to find the perfect fit... super cool! However, when it was time to try on shoes I was only given two choices. He had told me we would find a shoe and then compare it to some other brands... but in the end I was given two choices. And when I asked to try another he just brought me the same shoe in another color. Luckily, the shoes he brought out in the first place fit just fine but I would love some options... I am a woman with many tastes. haha Speaking of taste. Whyyyyyy do you only carry BLACK shoes for people with wide feet???? The selection for wide shoes was limited and it was a bummer. My experience at Fleet Feet was wonderful. I've been wanting to stop by the store for as long as I could remember but could never find the time to do so. I finally stopped by Fleet Feet on Thursday after work and was amazed by the professionalism and knowledge of the sales associate. The sales associate who helped me (I can't remember her name) was very knowledgeable and helped had me try on several pair of shoes until I found the ones that were the most comfortable. She then asked me to run while she recorded my run and showed me how my feet land on the ground. To be honest I was very impressed with the whole process and i am glad that I stopped by and got feet properly measured and fitted. She then gave me several pairs of running shoes to try on, and videotaped me in those as well. We found shoes and inserts that work for me. and I bought inserts for my work shoes too. Have had great experiences with running analysis and getting fitted for running shoes at Fleet Feet. I have purchased my last three pairs of running shoes at their store. Each time I have had very knowledgeable staff take quite a bit of time with me to go over my running style, how my foot strikes the ground, how my old shoes are wearing down, and what I require in a new pair of shoes. The staff will record your running on a treadmill or on the sidewalk to playback and analyze your running stride. After that we discussed comfort, stability, price ranges, and of course the shoe styles. I've never had to wait for assistance in their stores, and usually a person up front will greet me and then find staff to work with me throughout the visit. In addition to the expert shoe advice, the sales staff also suggest socks and other running equipment to help with soreness and foot discomfort. The one thing the sales staff can't help is that I will see a pair of shoes on the display wall that I absolutely love (style and color) and of course they are the wrong shoes for my particular feet. That makes me nuts, but I guess it's not all about looks and color, it's about fit and comfort. I also love that the store has a short little test track to run on, as well as suggesting that you go outside and run a bit on the sidewalk in front of the store. It really helps you to decide on which pair of shoes is the best for you. Just bought a pair of new shoes this weekend and Chris was a tremendous help, patient and professional guy. My introduction to this shop came in the form of a pancake run on Memorial Day. We all gathered outside of the shop and ran (well, most did, I walked) around Crane's Roost park. Pancakes, with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and coffee were served, and there were raffles. I won a Newton running shirt!!! (Now if only I could win a special prize at a Yelp event!) Although I had not planned on getting fitted for shoes, since I was there I figured why not. My feet were measured, marked, and then I ran on the treadmill and they videotaped my run to see how the shoes jived with my personal running style. I was really impressed with the knowledge and concern for my feet here. I also explained that I had some hip issues and was given a demonstration of some stretches I could practice to help with it. I was also given a handout with different stretches to do at home. I love shopping at a store that has people who actually know the craft. It's so frustrating shopping at a GNC for example, and trying to find out info from someone who is totally clueless. . . Our feet are important for a reason and for MANY of us females who shell out $$$ in heels every week (day) it only makes sense to equip our feet with running/walking shoes that support us. You may pay more than you are used to but aren't your frickin' feet worth it?!? Guess I just went there on an off day. I walked in and the woman with short cropped hair says "do you have an appointment?" I'm sorry, but I'm buying shoes and didn't realize one needed an appointment. I offered to leave and go make one ( fact, if I leave, I'm not coming back, but I was trying to be polite ) She told me I could stay ( how kind ! ) but they had a couple of appointments coming in at 4pm. I had read some really great reviews online for Fleet Feet. But then I'm always still skeptical. Decided to go in bc of what I had read about how they scan your feet, take lots of time with you, etc. Let me tell you...I was not disappointed! Waited a little bit to be helped but was greeted and they signed me in right away. Arie was great. I explained my foot pain issues to him and after a scan it made lots of sense. He went over or with me and then emailed them to me. He brought out numerous pairs of shoes and never once acted put out or frustrated. I was really being careful to pick the right shoe for me. I settled on a shoe but the store didn't have the color I wanted so he ordered them for me right on the website so I didn't have to go home and do it! 4 stars for personalized service, I would give 5 stars, but the wait was super long. My mom and I went to Fleet Feet to browse around and also pick up some shoe inserts. It was a Friday morning and surprisingly, it was very busy! We were first greeted at the door, asking if we needed any help and we unfortunately had to wait a good 25-30 minutes for a sales person to help us with the super feet we wanted to buy. This was my first time going to Fleet Feet and I heard some pretty good reviews about them, but I also heard they can be a little on the pricey side. I am new to running, but have been previously fitted for sneakers. This was not at Fleet Feet, but a store in Miami, and when I expressed concern about an issue with my left foot, I was just told to get a bigger shoe, and was sent on my way. So I ended up with running shoes that were really too big and did not help my problem. And then I decided I hated running and basically quit for a couple years. Now that I am back at it and running a few times a week, I decided it was time for some new shoes, and needed some help deciding what would work for me. I had gone with friends to another popular running store, however, the staff didn't seem that friendly, and weren't really interested in helping those weren't already experts. Some friends mentioned some love for Fleet Feet, so I decided to stop in and see what they had to offer. The store is staffed so you have your own person to work with you through the process of finding a great pair of shoes. I never felt rushed to decide, and was encouraged to walk and run around as long as I needed to really get a feel for each shoe. My feet were measured, and filmed while I ran, and analyzed to determine what kind of support I need. He even demonstrated the way my ankles and feet moved with a skeletal foot, so I could understand exactly where I need support and why. I never felt pressured to purchase, or to buy one brand over another. He brought out a range of brands in the style that was right for my feet, then left it completely up to me to determine which shoe was better. I even ended up with the right inserts, so my shoes feel completely customized to my feet! I am excited about my new shoes, and find running a lot more enjoyable when my feet aren't shifting around, aching in the wrong shoes. I go here whenever I need GU gels before a long run, new compression socks or why try try out some new sneakers. When you find the perfect pair of running shoes that fit your like a glove you will always wonder how you ran with out them! They will recommend specific types of shoes based on how you run/walk (they will watch you). Customer service is always great, friendly and always available! I love the the free yoga they offer every Tuesday. The store closes at 7pm, yoga starts at 7:15pm in the store. You can bring your own yoga mat, they also have some available there for more cushion. Last week of they month they also hold pub run events. Run as little or as much as you want, then meet at world of beer for a drink! I L-O-V-E Fleet feet! It has everything a runner dreams of! When I walked in I immediately was greeted and assisted by one of the staff members, she asked me what concerns I had and what I was looking for. Corrine (correct my spelling) analyzed everything about my foot, shape, and what issues I may have felt or came across while running. After she finished with my measurements she brought out shoes that would fit best to my foot. She then brought me outside and told me to go jog down the walk way and took a video of how I ran. Corrine then explained and showed me what they were looking at when I was running and asked me if the shoe was comfortable and felt better on my foot. I was very impressed at everything that was done for me and what she recommended for me as well. They suggested other products as well that would benefit me for my runs and even told me about events that they were holding in store. I had been getting a sore heel after running for the past couple of months, and suspected it might be my shoes. I decided to go get fitted at Fleet Feet. Back in the day when I lived in Orlando, the only place that did this was Track Shack on Mills Ave near downtown. Now they have a place like this in Seminole County or my old stomping grounds of Altamonte Springs. This is a store for serious runners, or for people that want to get serious about running, or people that just really want to make sure they get the right running shoe. The guy that helped me measured my foot, videotaped me running on a treadmill, and asked a lot of questions. They also have an indoor track (3 short lanes) where you can run inside the store. In the end, they determined that I was ran with neutral pronation, with a slight over-pronation, but not enough to get a shoe specifically for over-pronation. I ended up going with a neutral shoe with a little more support than I had been wearing, which was probably the cause of my sore heel. They recommended three options and I picked the shoe that felt the best. Now, you might not get the cheapest price for your shoe going to a place like this, but it's worth it to pay maybe $20 more to get the right shoe for your feet and running style. My shoes were $100, and I usually pay around $70 or $80 for new running shoes. It was well worth it. A few weeks later and I love my new shoes and have not had any more incidents of the sore heel. You know how sometimes you walk out of a store/restaurant amazed at the great service you just got? Well, that happened today at Fleet Feet. If you're a runner, one of the first things you need to do is go to a running store to be fitted for shoes. And we always go to Fleet Feet. We get great service, and today was no exception. We walked in today and were greeted by Chris. He helped us the first time we went so we were glad to have him. He asked us about our running history and what we plan to run in the near future. He asked us about any pains we were having and then checked our current running shoes to look for patterns in the soles. Then he grabbed a pair that he thought would be good for us so we could be fitted. The first shoes he grabbed weren't my normal brand but I thought that since it was just so we could be fitted, no big deal. We put on the shoes and headed outside so he could watch us run. Then he brought us in to jump on the treadmill so he could video us running and show us how we moved. Then while we were discussing some pain we were having while running, he took us over to some tools for stretching. Then we all got on the floor and he showed us some great techniques to use. This was certainly not part of his job requirement but he was so great! My friend and I can be goofy, make comments and ask lots of questions and he was great about! Patient and funny! After he felt like we understood how to use them properly, we went back to the shoes. We tried on a couple of pairs, one of them being the brand I normally use. After each try on, we would go back out side and run to get the feel for the shoe. He helped answer questions and got us sizes and made suggestion. Just so great! And you know what? We both ended up getting the first pair of shoes that he brought out (the ones that weren't our normal brands.) It just goes to show that he knows his products so well. Besides shoes, there are other running supplies such as clothing, nutrition, and other accessories to chose from, if needed. Chris was a perfect example of how the staff at Fleet Feet are and why we continue to drive 40 minutes just to go to this running store. Recently had an ankle injury and my podiatrist, Eugene Pascarella, M.D.(a GREAT doc) referred me to to Fleet Feet after my cast came off. I really wish I could remember my salewoman's name. Dark hair, cute.....still can't remember. Regardless, she was excellent. Puts me on a treadmill, measures my foot a million times, has me stand a bunch of funky ways and finally goes in the back and brings out some recommendations. She tells me the first shoe she puts on is the one she recommends.(not the most expensive, but damn, this shoe feels good.) It's a running shoe with tons of support and cushioning. Make no mistake, I hate to run. And the thing that I hate more than running is the way running shoes look. Big, bulky, clunky and way to much on going on, visually, in the shoe. I try on three pair and she was right.....number one is the winner. Perfect sizing, incredibly comfortable and damn ugly. Whatever. I come into this store once a month or so; whether it's for nutrition or for shoes I ways leave impressed with the attentiveness, enthusiasm, and knowledge the staff here possess. I've gone through 2 fittings here; once on the treadmill and most recently using one of the store's iPads. I came in with a friend since we were both looking for some lightweight trainers and possibly some shoes for interval work on the track. After being fitted and trying on some shoes I was advised by my fitter (Kelley I think?) that there wasn't anything in stock that really fit my feet for the activities I described. In short, after over an hour of fitting, being educated on running mechanics and different shoe types, I left with no shoes. I really do respect a store that would rather ask me to come back than to sell me something that would be less than an ideal match. Although my wide feet are always a challenge to find homes for, I know whatever they end up in will be a choice I can be confident in. The employees are super helpful and friendly. They test your gait, stride and fit you for sneakers. The staff is always available to answer any questions you might have about running, walking, shoes, marathon training and more. Once I went with my mother and grandmother and between the three of us we probably tried on every woman's shoe in the store. They were so patient! I had the best experience at this location. The foot scanning was super cool, and the Jaymes (the person helping me) explained the results and what it meant in detail. I am a new runner and Jaymes gave me a lot of helpful tips and showed me extra products in the store that would help with my run. I tried on multiple pairs of shoes that were chosen based on my scans, and we discussed which one was right. This was such a quality experience, for the same price you would pay in a regular store (I payed 120 for a nice pair of running shoes). The owners here are friendly and love to help their customers. Eric is almost always at the store when I go, and he's been at all of the fun runs I've attended. So this is a shoe/sports apparel store, but it's much more than just that! They coordinate races (and they only work with non-profits so you know you're racing for a cause, not just to put money in their pocket). Plus they now have training programs for runners who are training for races of all distances. AND they host a lot of "fun runs" from the store -- including the newest one that ends at World of Beer next door. Woohoo! I attend a lot of their holiday fun runs where they host a run on, for example, Memorial Day. Then after the run, they have a nearby restaurant sponsor breakfast and they offer discounts in their store on shoes or running gear. I love how interactive this store is. Best customer service I have had in a long time. This is not the typical shoe store that just gives you the size shoe you asked for. I actually didn't come into buy shoes, but insoles for my shoes. Eric took his time to fit me correctly. He brought multiple options over and made sure I walked in all of them before making sure I had the right ones. He didn't force me to buy new shoes (even though mine look pretty worn), but said if my condition didn't improve he would fit me for new ones. Emily is amazing! As a new runner who hates running, I was hoping that getting good shoes that are want for my body and gait would help. Emily is super knowledgeable and by video taping my run, she was able to determine how my feet hit he ground, ankles rolled, came off the ground, etc and determined the best shoe for me. Went to store 12/29/20 to purchase new sneakers since I've gotten back to running since recovering from plantar fasciitis. The lady who waited on me , I believe her name was Pria. Very unprofessional, nonchalant and not knowledgeable at all . They do a 3D analysis of your feet and email it . NEVER received it. Took sneakers back due to sneakers were to big in toe box area. I have a narrow foot . customer service was shitty from her. Spoke with manager , his response basically was sorry everyone has a bad day !!! She lied to me saying she has only worked here for 4 weeks , manager said 8 years she's been here !!! Ignorant ass woman !!! read more

A Wonderful Visit Today! I'm adding to my previous review (in which I gave 4 stars, but had some '2-star visits' since then. Since moving to the northwest part of the county, I've attempted to make Fleet Feet/Altamonte Springs my 'local' running store. Still love my 'first running family' (Track Shack), but needed something closer to our new home. However, a few 2-star visits, in which customer service was lacking, left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. Today was a different day! I made a special trip over to Fleet Feet (12 miles from our house) to pick out a few new, much-needed sports bras. Thankfully, Jen, a fit specialist, greeted me at the door, asked a few friendly but informational questions, and walked me to the sports bra wall. Within minutes, we had selected a few bras, based on my requests. Nearly forty-five minutes and a half a dozen bras later (I kept going back and forth between two styles and two sizes), Jen and I walked to the front to get me checked out. Oh! I remembered. Do you have Injinji socks? I was ready for a few new pairs, to go with my newer minimalist running shoes. Yes. Five more minutes, and I was out the door with two bras, a great pair of socks, a wonderful lingerie bag for my new Moving Comfort apparel (a nice bonus gift when purchasing MC bras, apparently - had never gotten one anywhwere else...thank you!), AND an invitation to join Jen and other local runners for the Halloween pub run (fun!). What a terrific visit from start to finish: great inventory, even a sales rack to peruse, a super-efficient and friendly sales/fit specialist who looked like me (curvy runner and admittedly not a gazelle...lol), and an invitation to run with others... I can't give enough praise to this place! I can even say they've saved my life and my running life style! For years and years, after too many doctor appointment and medications to treat what I (and the doctors) thought it was gout, I've found this place! It turned out that what I really had was a case of unsupported flat feet that was "cured" by the proper shoes and the correct insoles. To get there, the "life savers" measured the resistance of my arches and then put me to run on a treadmill with a camera at floor level and analyzed my gait. The service is exceptional and personalized, as mentioned in other reviews. The prices of the shoes are the same as everywhere else (even on-line) and there's no charge for the gait analysis they provide. I drive over 25 miles to go there, but it's absolutely worthwhile! read more

Fleet Feet is my running home away from home. I am always blown away by the level of customer service at this place. Whether I have gone in for a new shoe purchase or simply stopped in to try out a new pair and see how they fit, everyone who works at Fleet Feet has taken the time to answer any questions I might have. In the weeks leading up to my first marathon, I dropped by and was completely provided for in terms of socks, energy gels, and salt pills. While I'm sure all of my training helped me with my experience, it was also the knowledgeable staff at Fleet Feet and the products they sold me that took care of me during my run. read more

I have been to running stores all over the country and this is by far my favorite. They are all about getting you in the right shoe for you. It may take a while, but they are there to help. They are always much more friendly than the other running store in town. It is exciting to see that they have expanded and have even more apparel and sports bras. I recommend them to anyone who is interested in running. read more
