I was in need of new running shoes after completing my half marathon as a "gift/reward" to myself. Note that I'm no runner nor would I consider myself to be one. However, after doing a brief research of nearby places to visit to get advice and pointers on shoes - Fleet Feet was the place I ended up deciding on visiting. I guess it was my high expectations based off of reviews of others, but my visit wasn't all that "amazing/great." I felt like the person that "helped" me during my scheduled visit didn't really help much. I was looking for more of a conversation between the employee so that I can make a more informed decision. By the end of it I walked away with a new pair of shoes that I've been testing for roughly a week and a half, and honestly I'm not moved by it. I felt like my decision was rushed and that no real feedback or guidance was provided. I also wouldn't consider myself as a hard or complicated customer/client - I just asked questions but felt like I was pulling teeth. This Fleet Feet store is the optimal location for buying tennis shoes, my favorite in all of Nashville. They carry Brooks, the only sneakers I'll wear. And unlike Dick's where you'll wait for 20 minutes for an employee to even acknowledge your presence, you're immediately helped at Fleet Feet! This is such a better experience than a mega sports store! Despite being tucked away at the back of a strip mall, the secret is out because the store is always bustling with shoppers. And we were shocked that they carry our favorite Advocare products including almost every flavor of Spark in both canisters and packets! We haven't seen any other stores selling this product. If we ever run out of Spark at home, we know where to go! read more

Came in for a gift for a friend and to try on some shoes. As I was checking out I asked for a discount that the other store closer to my area offered me as an athlete and they said that it was "not a thing that exists". They were the only store in driving distance which had the shoes I needed for my friend and that's the only reason my business was taken there. I will not be returning to this location as service and value is much better online or literally at any other fleet feet location I've ever been to. Both employees could barely be bothered to answer questions or even pretend to be interested. I was asking basic questions about my shoe and he just blankly stared at me before half way answering. The other one was also dismissive. Years ago I had a fantastic experience at the Brentwood store doing the treadmill evaluation but they never even offered this time. Best store ever! I used to be a runner... like 10 years ago. But it's been awhile. Long story short I recently signed up for a half marathon this November and needed to get some quality gear for training. Went in on a Saturday, they scanned my foot to give a good read on shoes that would be ideal for my feet. I tried on 3 different pairs and ended up with some Ons. Super cute and lightweight, comfy. However... after getting home and trying them on again my heels were literally coming out as I walked. It was all in the way he tied them at the store... and I couldn't replicate at home. So I went back the next weekend and got fitted in a pair of Brooks (the picture attached to this review). I tied them myself to ensure fit, gave them a quick jog back and forth outside the store and they are PERFECT. My old running shoes from way back when were Brooks so apparently that brand is my brand. Service could not have been better. Location is super convenient with a huge parking lot. They are knowledgeable and kind and really just want you to succeed in all your fitness goals. Also got two pairs of Feetures socks. Will get more. They are legit the best running socks of my life! It was my first time getting a professional shoe fitting (as a first time runner). I called ahead to schedule an appointment, but was told I wouldn't need one as there was no wait. When I got there, there were 3 kind faces there to welcome me. I worked with Katey who immediately made me feel comfortable and explained everything thoroughly. I could feel how passionate she is about running and gave me a ton of tips. She also went beyond helping me find the perfect shoes, she gave me amazing advice on running. She helped me calculate my pace and encouraged me to run my first 5K and now I feel empowered to go beyond my small goal of a 5K. Maybe a 10K is in my sights? Maybe a future half marathon (gasp!) This was my most favorite 2020 find. Did you know they take feet scans FOR FREE? They email you the results and the scans are so interesting and informative!! I was doing a lot of HIIT workouts with a cheap pair of nikes and ended up with shin splints. Even though Covid was prime when I went there was limited people in the store and I received the best care in helping me find the best fit for my feet. I know their show options may "run" a little higher than if you buy online at a big distributor but you can literally wear the shoes and return them in 30? 60? Days if you aren't fully satisfied. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I ordered online and was so excited for my delivery. It didn't take too long and then I wore them a few times to my HIIT classes before Covid escalated and I didn't feel comfortable going anymore. One Star is more than this business should get. A friend of ours Jason DeFord (Aka JellyRoll) a Nashville Native came in to buy his mother shoes. Where he has always bought them and could have bought every pair in there should he have wanted to! He and his 71 year old mother were treated so poorly by an employee there and they were judged and not waited on AFTER the manager told the employee to. The guy waited on another customer because he was judging Jelly and his mother. Don't always judge a book by it's cover. You missed out on a ton of commission and I will NEVER give your store my business either. To not give help to the elderly and treat them with dignity and respect is some where that Id rather not give my business. This place needs a complete overhaul in the way they treat their customers!! Highly recommended! Really nice place with running gear, shoes and a fantastic staff. If you are expecting cheap running shoes and are looking to spend 30-50 dollars this is not the place. If you are looking to invest in a great pair of running shoes that are fitted properly, this is the place. I took the time to get fitted by a really great "fitter" staff member. He took the time to measure, watch how you walk and explain how a running shoe should fit and feel. What I came to learn is I've been wearing the wrong size shoe since I began running, which has led to some hip trouble and some discomfort on longer runs. Most places just try to sell you something and don't care, but he took over an hour to help me and figure out the best shoe for my feet. Love these guys. Had the team come to our office to do a shoe-fitting for our office in prep for the Rock-N-Roll marathon. They watched me walk, saw what they needed to see, and helped me find some great shoes based on my pronation. Fast forward two months later. I've run 40 miles on these shoes and my knees and shins are getting worse with each run. I go back in to visit them just to see if they can show me what I'm possibly doing wrong and how to lessen the load on my knees. They go through the same evaluation process of watching me walk and...LET ME SWAP OUT THE NEW SHOES WITH THE ONES I PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED. Free. Of. Charge. Who does that? I had a stellar experience here. I do not give that many 5-star ratings, either, but this is justified. 1 - The store is large, clean, well lighted, and not overly cluttered, so there is room to walk around. 2 - There is a clearly visible "sign in" board right inside the door for folks who need fit assistance for shoes, orthotics, etc. So I put my name down. 3 - My wait was pretty short, 5-10 minutes, while the associates helped others. 4 - The associate who helped me, Scott, was excellent. He listened to my needs, measure my feet, then had me walk across the store barefoot so he could observe my biomechanics. He then explained my gait and what he saw, and what kind of running shoes he recommended. With the first pair on, he sent me out front to run up and down the sidewalk to test them. When I returned, he had the next pair. When I liked those, too, he had me go again with one of each shoe, and the differences became clear. We repeated this with a third pair (all different brands), and it was obvious which was best for me. So I bought my new running shoes there. They earned my business with great service. They have a fit guarantee, with no time limit or receipt required! Overall, great experience. (FYI - I have since run with the new shoes, and they work beautifully. What is cute, comfortable, and happy all over???? MY FEET! I have been having some hip pain with my running, ur, jogging, and I had a feeling I needed another pair of shoes. I had a great experience here. They evaluated my stance, gait and problems. They diagnosed that I "overpronated" (I have been accused of worse ;-) and got me in the perfect pair. They even showed me how to use a foam tube to stretch my hips before and after a run! Amazing service!!!! I was very impressed with Fleet Feet. Whenever I think about running, I think about that movie Chariots of Fire in that one scene where the guy is running in slow motion... ...Fleet Feet in Brentwood has a great selection of shoes, insoles, and apparel from the aspiring runner to the expert runner. They were helpful with finding the right shoe with the proper fit for your feet. My feet are really weird because I tend to over-pronate and they found a shoe with an insole that provided support for my overpronation. Also, the shoe prices were comparable to the New Balance store where I previously bought my old pair. I'm not even sure if Nashville has a New Balance store, but if you're all about convenience, I feel like both stores have the ability to find the best shoe fit for your feet. The reason I came to Fleet Feet was because of its high reputation and I've heard many good things about Fleet Feet's ability to find the perfect shoe for your feet and I'm pretty happy about my purchase. I decided to walk the Country Music Half Marathon on a whim in early 2009. Bought a good (though ill-fitted) pair of shoes somewhere else and immediately started having some foot issues. Came by Fleet Feet, was fitted by Marco, placed in a correctly sized shoe, and was able to finish the 13.1 with no additional problems. I've since started running, working my way up to 5ks using the Couch 2 5K program. With the transition to running, the owner Christi Beth fitted me for another pair of shoes and some inserts to correct pronation. I live in Williamson County, so this is a perfect location for me. The lines on Saturdays can be a little long, but if you swing by on weekdays or call ahead, the staff is very willing to work with you. As mentioned before -- no pressure, just friendly, authoritiative advice. I came by one day when they had some specials going -- they didn't have anything in my size on special, but the owner gave me a very solid price on a different pair of shoes because she wanted to make sure I was fitted properly. Their prices are not discount store cheap, but these are professionals, and over the life of a pair of shoes, the extra $$ is definitely worth it to avoid injury and aches. This is also a great place to find out about upcoming events (big calendar, lots of flyers around), meet fellow runners, pick up supplies like energy drinks, beans, goos, etc. They do have a frequent buyer program that earns you a credit back after a certain amount spent (works for the whole family). They also carry running shoes for kids as young as 6-8 years old. Finally, the also sponsor a no boundries program that leads beginning runners through the Couch 2 5K program. I did the program on my own, but my wife is about to start the group program in August 09. You run with the group once a week and on your own (or in smaller groups) twice a week for 9 weeks, culminating in the Komen Race for the Cure 5K. The big key here is expert advice as you're starting out and ahem, accountability. The $75 fee includes a technical shirt and entry into the Komen race, so there's a lot of value included. I haven't spent time in the other running stores around Nashville - they're not particularly convenient for me - so I can't judge against the competition, thus 4 stars. But for me personally, this has been a 5 star experience and I encourage you to give them a try if you're a runner or interested in starting. read more

I had high expectations for FFS and they exceeded them! I visited as part of my personal trainer's client night. We all got fitted for shoes by having 3D scans taken, having our gate evaluated and preferences discuss, even analyzing the shape of our feet and how the shoes we already had were wearing. Mind blown, truly. Our group went on a short "fun run," and by the time we came back, I had missed out on a run clinic I was really looking forward to. Lucky for me, Alex, who had already done the most amazing job finding me shoes, was more than happy to go through the clinic with me and he really gave me such wonderful information and not only taught me HOW to run better, but WHY that way was healthier for my joints and how it would improve my running experience. I've been in this mainly running store a few times, but have never bought anything. Once I had total intentions to buy the perfect pair of running shoes, but I couldn't get anyone to help me--that's probably due to the fact that I stumbled upon the one day a year they have their birthday celebration, and there were probably 100 people in the small store--no lie! So, I can't really blame them. It's always packed, at least whenever I've been, and they do have a good selection. This is another store where, if you can get someone to help you, I hear that they will watch you run down the sidewalk and recommend a shoe for your style. Plenty of clothes and other gear too. A little on the pricey side, but for serious runners, it's probably the norm. Fleet Feet also has a weekly running group for all levels, and they give advice on training. If you live south of Nashville, and are into--or want to get into--running, give this place a chance. I have found others that I like better in Nashville proper... read more

Walk in the door, give them your name and it's one on one service from then on (including having employees watch to walk and run barefoot.) I've struggled with shin splints for a while. The employee (wish I could remember his name and give him props) not only found a great pair of shoes for me in addition to some insoles, but he also used a contraption called a "tiger tail" to work the knots out of my calves AND demonstrated how I can use a foam roller at home-- seriously?? I had way higher hopes for this company. They have very friendly customer service in stores but that is about it. They did not have the shoes I was wanting in stock so I ordered them in the store. Never heard anything about my shoes again. I received zero tracking information and my shoes never showed up. I called the store and told them my situation after waiting two months for my shoes to arrive. The guy on the phone took down my information and said he would call me back but never did. So I drove to the store over an hour later to find out my situation had not even been glanced at again. After speaking with a manager, who had yet to have been notified of the situation, the manager came to find out that somehow my shoes were shipped to a random location and then sent back to the store. Again, no tracking information or an email of any kind was sent to me so I had no idea of knowing where my shoes were at. Very disappointed with this store and I will not be going back. read more
