Puerto Rican Sweet Potato Detroit style pizza
J J.

Great stop! I was exploring the area and found this local gem. Owner's are friendly and really take the care and time on their food and service. Detroit style sourdough pizza was fantastic. I ordered one topped with sweet potato a first for me. It was Fantastic! They also have so meat toppings you can add to any of the pizzas. I'll stop in again if in the area or I'll take a detour if I'm driving through.

This is overall a delightful little ice cream parlor and bakery. The interior while fine is a bit…read morenondescript but the ice cream and especially the baked goods are high quality. Baked goods on offer here often include cheesecake, a variety of cupcakes, some pies including some made from fruit from the local Morgan Orchard in Monroe County and even some homemade chocolate truffles. I have had two very different experiences here. The first one was on a Sunday night. The staff…read morewas young but friendly. My ice cream was a bit on the soupy side. It pretty much dripped all over everything, and we ate inside in the air conditioning. Nevertheless, it was good ice cream. I also took a cupcake to go. They put it in a plastic container that sqarshed the top of the cupcake. That was a bummer. When I did eat my cupcake, it was just okay. I have eaten many a cupcake in my lifetime (and it shows!), and these just weren't up there at the top of my list. They were still good. Just nothing to write home about. The second experience was tonight. An adult was working, and she was very friendly. I suspect she was the owner, although I didn't ask. I chose a different kind of ice cream. It was also a bit on the soft side. Maybe it had just gotten put in the freezer or something. It was very good though. We will most likely still come back here as we will be in the area for a while longer. They have good ice cream, and that's always a plus!

After having lunch at Food & Friends, my West Virginia friend suggested Amy's Market for ice cream…read moreon our way out of Lewisburg. Can't go wrong with ice cream! I've always enjoyed ice cream anytime and anywhere. Here in Lewisburg, West Virginia, there's none like it. West Virginia ice cream does taste like ice cream made anywhere, to be honest. But having Ice Cream where you can have it is always a good thing. After roaming the town for an hour or so, we came to Amy's Market for a dessert snack before heading back to Princeton for the night. The store / restaurant felt like a small town general store that had the modern conveniences but stuck in some sort of time warp. Rustic style for sure but it was cool to see such things in the 21st century. With that said, my experience here took about 30 minutes from start to finish. We walked from the confederate cemetery to Amy's Market, which wasn't too far and passed The Barracks on the way in. After our ice cream purchases, we walked back to the confederate cemetery to retrieve the car for the drive back. It gave us time to work off the calories from lunch and the recently purchased ice cream. During our time at Amy's Market, we looked at the bakery and see how much brownies and other items that we could have bought, but we didn't. They had so much stuff in the bakery side that it made my mouth water. But we stuck to our plan and had ice cream. I asked the staff if they made their milkshakes with the ice cream and they said yes. Here's a pro tip for y'all. It can be less expensive if you did the ice cream milkshake versus 2+ scoops of ice cream. Not by much but it's an option for anyone and everyone to either drink or eat your ice cream. Just an option. The overall experience here at Amy's Market in Lewisburg, West Virginia was very cool and chill. The service here was good and there was a teenager working at the time. Might have been a local high school senior, I think. They didn't really have a seating area for patrons to sit and enjoy their purchases. My friend and I wanted to head out of Lewisburg anyway, so we just had to do a quick purchase and headed out. It was nice having ice cream here and to support local West Virginia businesses and the community while I was here as a tourist. My friend paid for lunch so I treated us to dessert, which made the stop here at Amy's Market much more meaningful. Plus, I was craving for ice cream anyway. For the most part though, the ice cream was delicious and definitely worth it. It was also very good and a game changer, especially when it's served in milkshake form. Regardless of how it is prepared and served, ice cream is ice cream. Amy's market is clean and definitely a place where you can purchase your favorite desserts and bakery items. If I'm ever in Lewisburg in the future, I'll definitely be there to try out their bakery items and sample more of their ice cream flavors. But for now, the chocolate ice cream that I had was quintessential amazing and looking forward to the next time I can be back for another round. If you're ever in the area and love your ice cream fix, consider coming to Amy's Market for your daily snack. It's worth it if you're around and can participate in daily ice cream rituals. Recommended if you're in the area or will be in the area in the future. Amy's Market is located next to The Barracks museum in Lewisburg, West Virginia. It's physically located at 990 Jefferson Street N in Lewisburg. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there's a small parking lot that faces that building. And a larger parking area that is adjacent to it, but you'd have to go down a small lane to access it. Still, it is nice to have such a nice parking area to have for anyone and everyone to enjoy and not have to legit park elsewhere in town and have to walk far to come to the store. The parking can be a premium at peak times so best bet would be to come here early enough to avoid traffic. Lewisburg has limited public transportation options, so best bet will be to have your own car or a rent one or better yet have a brand in the area who's going to drive you to and from Lewisburg and making a stop here at Amy's Market for baked goods and the quintessential signature ice cream. There's always Uber or Lyft at your disposal, but keep in mind that they could be very very expensive, depending on where you originating from. Because it's been said that Amy's market is the best in Lewisburg, West Virginia. I tend to agree. Thanks to my local West Virginia friend for taking me here during my recent visit in November 2025. Delicious ice cream at an affordable price. They do have limited flavors though, so if you're local or time to return regularly, you can see if they change flavors regularly too or if they keep the same flavor profile day after day and month after month. Thanks Lewisburg, Amy's Market is a great place to be. 5.0 stars for the overall experience Support local! A+

I guess there is no changing your mind that day. And I guess it's loyal base has lives that this works for. Whom does this place cater to? Not your average person by any means. Certainly not people actually out working. Perhaps office or bank employees around town who know on Monday what they will want for lunch on Wednesday. Not knowing this. I googled them, saw no hours, nor any explanation. We were only two minutes away, so I just drove over. Never mind that it took 15 minutes to park in downtown Lewisburg. It looked closed so I walked to the door to look for hours. Nothing but a menu taped to the window. I saw two women inside. One looked right at me, so I smiled and waved. She quite literally looked at me like she was exhausted with me already, raised her eyebrows and shook her head no. Which I interpreted as we are closed. Fair enough. So I hop back in the truck and pull up their website. Funny, looks like most of the reaturaunt sites in Lewisburg, all made by the same company. The only explanation on their website states it's pick up and delivery style. Okay, great. Have to download their menu. Okay. Finally, it looks like we will be able to order. Not so fast. After downloading, and only after downloading the menu, does it state you must order 48 hours in advance....wow. That's something your website designer should probably put on the front page of your site. Or maybe you, as the business owner, should put this on Google. Or at least hours and 48-hour advance pick-up delivery ONLY somewhere on Google. Maybe a door sign for all the average people who think this is an actual restaurant, so they don't get snooty looks when they smile at you. Some of us aren't aware of the odd way your business works. I've lived all over, and I've managed four diamond restaurants. Huge scale casino restaurants, small boutique steakhouses, fifties style diners, etc, and never seen this type of model for a restaurant, small or large. Clearly, people are fans. They seem to do well enough. But as it is nothing they offer that looks so good, unique, or special that I would order 48 hours in advance. Like many of the resturaunts downtown, they give the vibe that you are lucky to get food from them. Instead of appreciating your current AND would be customers. In addition, any negative review that is put on Google is met with the owner doing a sales pitch about their local ingredients and how popular they are among their wealthy clientele. Because that's who their clientele actually is, wealthy locals and wealthy tousits. They don't address the actual issue the customer had in their review or state they will work to remedy it. She uses it as a chance to talk about how great her restaurant is. Obviously, if someone has written a negative review about your business, there is a valid reason you may need to address. Instead of, you know, using it as a chance to self promote.

Shoney's had there hay day in the 90's and 2000, but you would be hard pressed to find one these days. Most have no idea they are still in operation I suspect. I was greeted up front. The place really is buffet only which is not for me. However they offer one menu item only. A burger & fries, so that's what I ordered. The waitress brought me water and was friendly. The place is old, but clean. I used the restroom prior to my meal arriving and it was sketch, but I've seen worse. Food was out within 15 minutes and visually looked fine. Temperature was good. Taste mediocre, but edible for a starved road warrior. The bread was dry, but not stale, the meat was ok. My waitress did perform a check and refilled water. The bill was promptly brought out. Payment is up front. The price was affordable. Not an establishment I would personally stop at again. 2.5 rounding up with strong service.

We found a biscuit world just off 64, and decided to make a stop. I've only ever been to biscuit world once before in my life, and I was 17 at the time, now nearly 15 years later I was unfamiliar with the menu. My husband and three children were new to the restaurant, so we all needed a moment to look at the menu when making it to the speaker in the drive thru. I made our order, and apologized to the person waiting on us for the few minutes it took to look at the menu and place our large order (a combo meal each for all 5 people in the car). The employee responded "that's ok, maybe next time you should come in to place an order that large". I found this to be kind of rude, as I'm sure I'm not the only person using the drive thru to order for a family- especially at a fast food restaurant off the highway- but also, this employee didn't consider that maybe I couldn't come in? It's quite the task to ready a crew of three young children to go into a restaurant, especially while on a roadtrip and having been on the road at that point for 5 hours. Additionally, I have a child in the car that is disabled, and again quite the task to get in and out of the vehicle just to simply place a food order. If your restaurant offers a drive thru for ordering, then expect you may have a large order from time to time... yes even in a small town. My low rating is not just for the disrespectful tone of the drive thru employee, but the fact that after this employee made it apparent that my order was an inconvenience to him, he left out one of the sandwiches for my children. And again, we're 5 hours away from home and only stopping for breakfast before jumping back on the highway, so it's not as simple as going back for a refund or replacement. I spent over $50, and ended up giving my breakfast to one of my children so they didn't have to go hungry.
