I found the cinnamon buns very reasonably priced at £2.50 each. (That means you can treat yourself to a well-deserved cup of coffee or take some more to take home!) Though the hipster Shoreditch reclaimed garage interior might have suggested otherwise, the employees were extremely friendly and not aloof at all. (And that being said, the design aesthetic is admittedly pretty cool and very appropriate for a bakery on an unsuspecting street down from Hoxton Station.) Their baklava is the best I've tasted in London, and I've had quite a few of them. Reasonably priced and well-stocked even in the late evening hours. They do have a few varities--walnuts, etc. But the best is definitely the pistachio one. I buy it by the kilo for parties, etc. And they're the first thing to disappear off the table. Go there. Decide how much you want. Then take twice. Because once you get home and bite into the first one, you'll immediately regret not having more.

They have one table with two chairs and one coach with a small table, which suggests buy but don't stay. The owner, who seems to be the only person who works there, is very friendly and quickly makes up your order. Baklava for a few people is about £3 which allows everyone two pieces, it's so sweet that's probably all most people can handle.

I asked to use the toilet to wash my hands and the soap dispenser did not work which seems to be ongoing as someone has written a note to the staff on the hand dryer, the floor was soaked. The customer seating area and floors were disgusting. Not one table was cleaned or wiped down while we were there over 40 minutes. I enjoyed the mocha but my husband choose not to eat and just have a coffee. The croque Monsieur was dry and we not up to the usual quality or standard. I will not be coming back to this Paul again. The standards and quality have dropped, I hope it is not the same for other Paul locations.
